Re: Clovis' To Earth Land and Beyond
Roaring crowds could be heard from the town centre. People were staggering over each other to get a passport. Clovis arrived, simply enjoying the sight of such people.
"None of them have a way with words." He pointed through the crowd, choosing his target. "You. I am going to get my passport before you."
The person he had chosen was a way down the line, but Clovis was hundreds of yards from the town center. This was going to be a challenging task. Clovis rose to his feet, having to heave himself from the ledge he was sitting, and took his sweet time meandering toward the town.

Re: Clovis' To Earth Land and Beyond
On the trail for the town, Clovis caught a little cafe from the corner of his eye. He decided a nice meal would be a good change of pace. Clovis entered the cafe, and sat himself next to a short elderly woman.
"And how are you today, sweetie?" He asked. The woman didn't answer him, just patted his shoulder softly. Clovis' eyes widened a bit. She was blind. But why wasn't she talking? He wondered.
"Well, I'm on my way to town. Heard they're giving out passports. I'm in pretty strong need of one, only so much to see and experience here."

Re: Clovis' To Earth Land and Beyond
The woman continued listening to Clovis. She seemed to be enjoying his stories. Not many young people had experienced as much as him. He continued to tell her about his travels, his education, his interests, his loves. She raised a hand to him with an envelope in her fingers.
"What is this?"
She nudged him, trying to encourage the envelope.
"Well, okay, thank you?" Clovis took the envelope and took a peek inside. He pulled it out, and to his surprise, it was a passport.
"But...why? I mean, you need this, right?"
The little old woman just smiled and turned back toward her tea.

Re: Clovis' To Earth Land and Beyond
Clovis hugged the woman and gave her a kiss on the cheek. "I will make sure this gets used well." Clovis slid his change across the counter and paid for the womans meal. Clovis left the cafe, a bright smile across his face. He started walking toward the town, turning into a brisk jog, and then, an all out sprint. Clovis was so happy about getting the passport. He still made a promise though. He had to beat that girl in line to the passport booth.
Clovis arived at the town centre. About one hundred yards ahead of him, the passport booth.

Re: Clovis' To Earth Land and Beyond
Clovis arrived at the line. He gets very excited around large crowds. He walked up to the girl, ignoring the crowd screaming at him for cutting.
She was a young girl, 14 or 15. Clovis kneeled a bit and handed her the passport.
"I was shown great kindness today. I made it my goal to get in front of you, and I was shown great kindness. Here, this is for you." The little girl gently picked up the passport and turned his head toward Clovis. She was blind too. Clovis had a small tear run down his face. He turned around, after giving the girl a kiss on the forehead, and walked to the back of the line.
Several hours later, having moved hardly any, the same little girl and her mother stopped at Clovis. "This passport you gave my daughter, belonged to her grandmother. They haven't met, she hasn't been seen in years. This is the only thing she has of her." Clovis was broken with shock from hearing this.
"Your grandmother loves you, sweet girl." He whispered.
"Thank you for the great kindness you showed, sir."
The little girl held up a passport to Clovis. It was the one she had waited in line for. Clovis thanked the girl over and over and proceeded to walk out of town.
