Personality: Marcus is a rather relaxed sort of person, who at a glance can come across as a bit... oblivious, usually more than happy to hang out with whoever he meets, as long as they don't prove themselves to be the sort of people he doesn't like, namely vicious, malevolent sorts. He does have a very clear sort of code of ethics, though, which he prefers to follow over what the law may allow or support. For example, a thief who was stealing to have something to eat, he would let go, while someone who was perfectly legally taking people's homes from them for selfish reasons he would probably punch in the face. Repeatedly. Of course, with Fairy Tail's lax restrictions regarding how its members choose to handle things, valuing that they follow what they feel is right, makes him a very good fit for them, and, as a result, has also led to his intense loyalty to his Guild and Guildmates. Though he tends to work on his own, when part of a team, he usually follows the lead of whoever happens to have more experience in the matter involved, even if they're not the person actually in charge of the mission, rare as that particular case may be. When put in charge of a mission, though, a task he would usually rather pass off to someone else, he focuses most on the welfare of his teammates, his goal making sure everyone comes home safely, should the mission prove to be that particularly dangerous.

Once the fighting starts, though, he seems to shift gears completely, becoming very serious and focused on his opponent, or opponents. He doesn't work as well with teammates who also fight at close range, as he wants to avoid causing collateral damage with his Caliber Knuckle magic. This is less in regards to area damage from his spells, and more in regards to the reckless nature of his attacks, preferring to overwhelm an opponent's defenses with repeated, powerful blows. He does have a tendency to push himself too far, though, overexerting himself rather than give up in a losing fight, hoping to push through till he succeeds in bringing his opponent down. This can catch some people off guard when they think they've brought him down, only to take a blow to the back when they turned to walk away. He DOES, however, tend to fight a little dirty when the situation calls for it, using street-fighting tactics, a throwback from his days before he took up being a wizard, throwing sand, ambushing an opponent, etc. The only exception to this is when he and someone make an agreement to fight fair. Then he'll keep his fighting style as "honest" as possible, unless they start fighting dirty themselves. Though he doesn't seem to consider using illusions to fool him to be fighting dirty, seeing it as just using their magic how they normally would, same as he wouldn't consider kicking up a cloud of dust with one of his Caliber Knuckle spells to be fighting dirty, either.
Likes:

• Spicy foods - He just really likes food that has a kick, even when such food would "reduce a lesser man to a sobbing wreck!"
  
• Traveling - Going out and seeing the world, meeting interesting new people, and of course helping them out when need be. This is the kinda thing he lives for.
  
• Girls - Well, when he's not trying to be a charmer with pretty girls he meets. What can he say, he likes the ladies.
  

Dislikes:

• Dark Guilds - Seems a bit of an obvious one, but his reason is because he feels that they're abusing the power they have, when they should be helping out people who aren't as capable as they are.
  
• Abuse of power - Related to the first one, ANYONE that's abusing their power when they should be helping others ends up on his "Punching List" really fast.
  
• Being forced to go against his gut - He trusts his first instinct, and when he's forced to ignore, or even defy that, it makes him a bit... uneasy.
  

Motivations:

• Adventure! - As simple as that. He's still young, and wants to make his mark on the world, and the best way to do that is to get out there and start getting things done!
  
• Friends - His friends (which includes his Guildmates), are one of his biggest motivators, driving him to excel and improve himself to not be a drag on them.
  
• Responsibility - He believes that his magic gives him a responsibility to use it to help people that don't have it, so he tends to be out doing his best to help people as much as possible.
  

Fears:

• Spiders - Nope. Nope nope nope. He will have nothing to do with the scuttling eight legged abominations. Noooo way. He WILL destroy furniture to kill the things, screaming like a little girl.
  
• Heights - More intense vertigo, really. He doesn't do well when high in the sky, usually more than three stories up, but he's okay as long as he doesn't look down, really!
  
• Failure - Failing his friends, failing himself, failing to stop someone that's hurting people, this is all the kind of stuff that winds up eating at him later.
  

General Appearance

Height: 5'11"
Weight: 172 lbs approx.
Hair: Brown, swept largely up and back, with long bangs that regularly hang just shy of his eyes.
Eyes: Brown
Skin Tone: Light
Appearance: He's a little on the lean side, and a little lanky, but growing into it, usually wearing blue pants, with a white overshirt over a red top. On his left hand though, he's almost always wearing his Caliber Knuckle, except if he's like... sleeping, or bathing.
