Deniel's Secondary Magic Training (Private)

"Will this really work?" Deniel looked back at his new partner, but more precisely his mentor, in what would be one of the craziest things he would do in his life. The man was known as Zack Rose, and Deniel sought him out a few days ago in dire assistance: to restore the power to his blade Nidhogg. Deniel lifted his hand up and stared down at it, which brought the black ragged cloak he was wearing up along with it. In his left hand, he carried his precious and irreplaceable black katana: Nidhogg. The black blade was sheathed inside of a black scabbard, but it was incredibly dull. Recently, Nidhogg had lost its magical power. It used to be able to communicate with Deniel, and it was the only thing Deniel had considered a friend. Not only that, but Nidhogg used to also have magical power, being able to shift forms along with Deniel's Take Overs. With the loss of his blade's magical power, Deniel sought out the one person he thought could help him fix the problem, and that person was Zack Rose. Now several days after their first meeting, Deniel was now with Zack Rose in a very dangerous, very infamous spot. A place that was known to have overly sized monsters, and sometimes obese ones.

Right now the two were in what seemed to be a huge area of endless fog, with just a plain old grassy field beneath their feet. Deniel lowered his hand to make his black cloak he was wearing lower as well. With his right hand he pulled back the hood he wore on his cloak and nearly repeated his question to Zack again. "Will this really get me back my friend?" Deniel came to an understanding that Zack had quite a big understanding about weapons, and it was to his knowledge that some magic he had revolved around them. If anyone could help him get Nidhogg back, he could. However, Deniel was slightly questioning the method to all of this. Why would he have to kill a bunch of monsters using Nidhogg to do it? Right now the blade was so dull, it probably couldn't cut through butter. Still, Zack was his only chance, and Deniel was not going to pass it up under any circumstances. He couldn't help but wonder, though. His red eyes stared at the endless fog, wondering if there were even any monsters out there. With ones that were so big, he expected to see at least one of them by now.

"And if it will, how?" Deniel couldn't stop wondering anymore. He just had to know how this was going to get his partner back through killing giant monsters with a dull blade.

"Have you ever heard the saying that to master a weapon you have to become one with it?" Zack replied with a smile. "Well...I think there is a step before that. You have to understand your weapon and what better way to understand it then through combat?" He was holding a black long sword loosely in his hand and considered what best to do. He used a D rank spell to generate a concussive ball of air, but this was merely to let off a powerful aura burst that blew away the fog and attracted the first giant monster.

It was an odd looking beast, but it wasn't the oddest he'd seen. "Now let's see how much control you have. Beat that beast with only your sword, but don't kill it."

That was perhaps a more difficult task. He had focused the training purely on the weapon, but most people used swords to kill. Having enough control to defeat a monster with a sword without killing it would be tough. "Let's see what you can do."

"I think I understand..." He looked down at his sheathed sword again and clenched his hand around it. He completely lied to Zack: he didn't understand him at all. He understood Nidhogg perfectly well, at least he thought he did. The more he thought about it, the more he realized that he knew nothing about Nidhogg at all. It just started talking to him one day, and it ironically fit his Take Over forms. Where did Nidhogg come from? Who made it? Why help him? All of these questions spurred up in his mind, and he realized that he and Nidhogg had a weaker bond than he thought they did. He closed his eyes and sighed at the thought of it. "I've got a lot to learn..." he whispered to himself. Before he knew it, the shadow of a giant monster had fallen over him, and the fog was completely gone. He looked up at the abnormally large and fat pink creature. He had never seen anything like it. He fought giant lions and actual giants before, but nothing like this. Still, he stared at the monster with a frown on his face. Every time he faced danger, he either smirked or frowned. And in this case, he was frowning.

He grabbed the hilt to his blade Nidhogg and drew it from the scabbard. It looked as good as new, but the sharp edge of the blade had almost completely dulled. "With just my sword, no problem!" It actually was a problem to him. With just his sword probably meant just using his sword, no Take Overs for him. This meant no strength, speed, senses, or durability upgrade. It was just him and a dull blade against a giant monster. Still, there was no stopping it. "Let's go!" Before he knew it, the overweight monster smashed its giant foot down on Deniel with all of its weight. Deniel held up Nidhogg in defense, fighting off its massive weight with all of the strength he had. He could already tell: This was not going to be easy.

Without the use of his Take Overs, Deniel's strength was no where near what it could really be. He was going to have to cope with it, though, and find a way through this. Even without his Take Overs, he was still a strong individual. The weight and pressure of the giant creature started to crush down on him while he held it up using Nidhogg. The blade was dull, but it wasn't going to break easily, and he was lucky for that. Find your strength, Deniel! And use it to get your friend back! With the thought of getting Nidhogg back fresh in his mind again, Deniel could feel strength in his body flow in like a river. With one big burst of strength and push, Deniel shoved the monster's foot right off of him. His strength was not only enough to get the foot off of him, but it was also enough to knock the beast back. A knock back was a golden chance for a strike, and Deniel wasn't going to pass it up one bit. While it was still staggering backwards, Deniel ran next to the monster's ankle and gave it a hard slash.

The results were less than pleasing to Deniel: nothing had happened at all. The least he could have done was just simply make it feel the cold metal of Nidhogg. The blade was so dull, not a single cut was put into it. "No way..." The overweight monster knocked Deniel aside since he was standing so close to its foot. Deniel was sent flying back, but he was able to recover himself by stabbing Nidhogg into the grass and slowing down his velocity. The blade was dull, but a metal object didn't need sharpness to pierce through mud and grass. Damn it! I need to try again, this time more strength. Deniel dug his blade out of the ground and ran for the fat monster again. Just like last time, he cut straight into the ankle since that was the only spot he could reach at the moment. Also just like last time: there was no effect.

Not again! Deniel felt the obese monster kick him away once again. Everything seemed to move in slow motion to him: seeing him go further and further away from the monster, and the only chance he had to get his friend Nidhogg back. He landed on the ground flat on his back, and he was slowly losing his consciousness. He could see everything blurring in his vision, and the strength he had earlier slowly escaped his body. He didn't know if it was the end or not, but no matter what, he held on to Nidhogg.



With Deniel's vision completely gone, he found himself in an entirely new world. He was in an entirely new world, but it was empty. All there was was infinite blackness. Deniel couldn't feel himself on the ground at all. He was floating in the air freely and aimlessly. He weakly opened his eyes to this black world, and looked around himself. "Where am I?" He turned himself upside-down, but it didn't feel like it. No matter which direction he turned himself in, he always felt right-side-up. All he saw around himself was just blackness, nothing more and nothing less. "What happened? Did I die?" After looking around aimlessly, Deniel finally found a small light. It was a spot of land, and on that land was a huge black figure. "What's that?" Deniel made his way over to the small piece of land. It was just a circular shape with the giant figure on top of it, and when he got closer, he could see the figure was a giant black serpent dragon. Its body was huge, at least 25 meters long, and if Deniel stood next to it, the thickness of his body would equal more than his height. Its face was much bigger than Deniel's whole body combined. From what he could see, its giant eyes were closed.

He landed on the floating piece of land in front of the giant dragon's face. "This isn't like the dragons that teach slayers...he's different." With a closer look at his body, Deniel could see that the giant black dragon was wounded. "Who...are you?" the black dragon reacted to Deniel's voice by faintly opening its eyes. Just like Deniel's Black Devil form, its eyes were pure red with no pupils, just red irises. "Deniel....?" Deniel would recognize that voice anywhere, "NIDHOGG!?" The giant dragon's eyes slowly started to close, "Restore...my...power..." After that, before Deniel could do anything, a huge flash of light appeared over him. He was entering reality once again to fight the giant monster one more time.

When Deniel opened his eyes, he was back in reality and just in the nick of time. Only a few seconds had passed, even though it felt like five minutes in whatever world he was just in. Right above him the fat monster was once again trying to squash him underfoot. Deniel didn't have time to think about what just happened; he had to act. With a grunt, he pushed himself to his feet and held out Nidhogg to the monster's foot with its tip out. Just a few moments ago the blade was completely dull, but something gave Deniel gave faith into the blade's strength. And his faith was not in vain. As soon as the giant monster's foot came clashing down on Deniel, the first thing it came into contact with was the tip of Deniel's blade. The faith Deniel had in the blade caused it to become temporarily sharp enough to impale the foot of the monster on to his blade. It wasn't enough pain to make the monster scream, but it was enough to make Deniel hear a terrifying grunt from it. While he still had the advantage, Deniel used his strength to shove off the monster from him and roll away from under its foot. After rolling away, Deniel ran up to the monster's ankle, but didn't cut into it. Instead Deniel started to run up the body of the giant monster. He held Nidhogg close to its skin to that Nidhogg would leave one giant cut in the trail.

Luckily for Deniel, the arms on the giant monster seemed very short, so as long as he stayed near its stomach, it couldn't reach it with either its hands or feet. Stomach, that's it! Deniel made his way up to the stomach of the monster, and then pushed himself off. With relentless speed and power, Deniel started to slash at the monster's body with no mercy or hesitation. Remember, Deniel. Don't kill it. Just harm it! With one last slash, Deniel kicked the body of the monster and then let himself drop to the ground. Once he landed he turned away from the monster and then spun Nidhogg so he was holding it backwards. He sheathed Nidhogg inside of its scabbard, and once he did, the monster fell down flat on his back. Not dead, but beat up enough to where it couldn't fight anymore. "Down and out!"

The first thing Deniel did after he finished defeating the monster was look down at his sword. It wasn't dull when he fought it, so was it back to normal. "Nidhogg! Say something! Speak to me!" No response came from the sword, so Deniel drew a bit of the blade from the scabbard to see if anything was wrong. Sure enough, the blade's sharpness was only temporary. It was back to its old state where it was duller than a ceremonial sword. Deniel sighed and sheathed his sword inside of its scabbard once again. At least he was closer to getting Nidhogg back now than he ever was. Even if it temporarily got its state back, Deniel confirmed one thing: Nidhogg was still alive. He saw him with his very own eyes, and he had even responded to him. He was alive, but he didn't look well. He remembered how beat up he looked when he found him. What he was more concerned about was Nidhogg's shape. He had only seen him as a sword so far, but now he could see that inside of the sword was a living being. A dragon. In the shape of a serpent, that is.

"I saw him..." he said aloud to Zack Rose, whom he almost forgot was standing there watching the whole time. "Nidhogg is still alive! This means I still have a chance at getting him back. What do I do, Zack? Defeat another monster? Try to focus my energy on him? What do I do?"

Zack had watched the battle with mild interest. The man had gone into battle with a blunt sword fighting with seemingly all his strength and doing little to no damage. Then something had happened. Magic power had surged not from him, but from the sword. Swords were normally conduits for magic as were all magic weapons. However, this seemed different. It almost as if the sword had its own magic power and had used that to make it sharp enough to pierce the flesh of the monster. An interesting phenomenon. What's more when Deniel came to speak to Zack he spoke of the sword as a living being. Zack always considered that swords had souls and thus to master them you must master yourself and make yourself one with the blade. An actual living entity as a sword was a different matter.

"Your connection with your weapon is strong." Zack commented. "You have began to stir it from its sleep...it has its own magic that is slowly increasing as you bond with it. You might not be able to see it or feel it, but I can." He thought for a while trying to think about what he knew of this area. He'd been here a few times to fight the giant monsters, normally with his bare hands. Fighting the monsters was how he trained. Would it be sufficient to awaken the blade further? Perhaps or perhaps not. "Yes, you will face another giant monster and once more must rely on your blade. However, you can use one full takeover, your weakest, in order to aid you." He added this last part because otherwise Deniel might in fact die against what he faced next. Zack pointed into the distance where what appeared to be a mountain could be seen. "That mountain has a small patch of material on top. You will defeat, and not kill, what is guarding it and return with the material."

He did not say why he needed the material, what it was, nor what was guarding it. What was guarding it was the mountain itself. It was a giant creature known as a mountain demon. The material was actual the demon's hair. Zack had fought this before and found his magic highly effective as he was a demon slayer. It would be up to Deniel to find this out and beat it. "Oh and just so you know there is more than one thing guarding it."

The second guardian was not as gigantic, but might prove problematic. It was a rock condor. A large bird, with a roughly 20ft wingspan, made of stone. Its flight therefore was magical, but the flight would be the issue. That and the fact it could fire the rocks. It would guard the material because it used it as part of its nest which was atop the mountain. "Oh...and you may call on me for support spells, ONCE, during this battle. I will use the spell I think most suitable for training you if you call upon it."

He was beyond relieved to hear that he could use his weakest Full Body Take Over, but that wasn't easy to decide on. They were both equal to each other, but one valued speed over strength, and vice-versa. That was something he needed to decide on later. For now, he was going to focus on his objective. He looked into the distance at the large mountain, which to him seemed very abnormally shaped. He was wondering what exactly was guarding it as well. From here he couldn't really see what was on top, but it didn't look like there was anything there aside from black material. He couldn't notice the first guarding nor did he notice the second. All he saw was an oddly shaped mountain. He nodded anyways and started walking to the mountain. He tossed Nidhogg to his left hand so he could draw it from the scabbard with his right hand. His walking pace slowly started to speed up to a run. As he was running, a sky-blue energy started to come out beneath his feet and cover every part of his body. In just a matter of seconds, he was a sky-blue glowing figure running with a black katana in his hand. And then after a few moments passed by, the blue energy started to peel itself off of him and disappear in the air in a shining, sparkling, and beautiful look.

Every part of his body was now completely changed. Instead of his black clothes, black hair, and red eyes, he was now covered in white and golden trimmed armor with white hair and sky-blue eyes. On his back were two great and mighty wings, each of them being the size of his whole body if not bigger. While he was running, he stared down at the sword that he carried in his hand. It remained unchanged, and it was still dull. "Again, nothing." His armor on his body clattered with every footstep that he took. This form was technically his weakest since it didn't give him as much strength as his Devil form did. However, in exchange for strength, Deniel was able to give himself plenty of speed. And he demonstrated that speed by increasing his acceleration. He went from running to a white blur, appearing at the base of the giant mountain in a matter of seconds.

Even when he reached the mountain, he didn't stop. He approached it at high speeds, and jumped himself while turning parallel to the mountain. His armored feet perched themselves firmly on the mountain, and he began to sprint right up. He ran about halfway up the mountain, and he still wasn't running into any problems. A little more than halfway there, the mountain had suddenly started to move. The moment he saw the signs of it and danger, he pushed himself off the mountain and used his wings to take flight. He saw the part that he was heading out towards extend itself from the mountain. A very thick arm with three fingers revealed itself to be a part of the mountain. Deniel wasn't entirely sure if it was some kind of supernatural force...or the mountain was alive. He circled around the mountain to see if he could confirm his suspicions. Sure enough, when he circled around and looked up, he saw a monstrous and hideous face high up in the air above him.

He looked to his right to see the second arm of the giant monster coming straight at him to swat him away.

Spells Used:

If it weren't for his speed and highly enhanced reflexes, Deniel would have been swatted and shot straight to the ground. Thanks to his form, he was able to fly away from the giant hand in the nick of time, and circle around the 'mountain'. He was scouting it out, and also trying to see what the "material" Zack had mentioned was. He started to spiral upwards on the mountainous creature, so he could be moving away from any counter attacks and getting to the top at the same time. He didn't have to go all the way up to see that it was the monster's hair that he needed to collect. "Oh...I see..." before he could do anything else, he was attacked from behind by razor-sharp talons that cut through his armor and gave a bit of a cut on his skin. He turned around to see a giant bird, looking like it was made of stones, flying overhead from him. That must have been the other thing guarding it. At least I have the two figured out now. He had all of the information he needed, it seemed. Now all he had to do was defeat them both, without killing them, ...with a rusty blade. If it weren't for him only using Nidhogg, it would be a lot easier. He wasn't going to complain, though. That's why he came here: to restore Nidhogg. And he would do anything to get his friend back. Anything. As the condor flew overhead, he flew right after it in a pursuit. They both started to circle around the mountain-demon-monster-thingy, and that's when Deniel got a surprise he wasn't expecting.

Spells Used:

While he was pursuing the condor, it turned its giant neck around and then opened its mouth. Deniel wasn't expecting anything, so he wasn't prepared. And then, out of the beak of the bird came a huge rock that was fired like a cannonball. He swerved himself to the side to try and dodge it, but it ended up hitting the end of his wing. He spiraled out of control and started to head straight for the ground. The bird turned around and flew towards the falling angel to gain an advantage over him. Deniel watched the ground below him get bigger and bigger. He was able to gain control of his flight once again, and stop his rapid spiral. He looked up to see the bird diving straight to him, with his rock claws looking sharper than ever. He looked down at the sword he was carrying, and decided it was time to put his skill to the test rather than his sword. He held on to it with both hands prepared himself. Once the condor had reached him, it swooped in with his talons and tried to grab on to Deniel. Instead of that happening, Deniel used his sword to push its talons back. The blade was rusted and dull, but it was still very sturdy. It couldn't cut anything and it looked terrible, but it wasn't useless. The bird and Deniel then got into a sparring match with it using its talons, and him using the sword. Right, left, right, left, dodge, dodge, center, right, left, left. Deniel followed the movements of the bird carefully, so he could see if he could find an opening and not let his guard down.

The moment Deniel had found an opening, he didn't hesitate to use it. The bird made a fault in its next attack, so Deniel blocked it and then swung his blade as hard as he could to do at least SOME form of damage. A large scrape was formed right across the bird's chest, but it didn't look like it was affected at all. The blade was able to cut it, but that's only because it was rock and Nidhogg was metal. It wasn't sharp enough to cut through something.

Spells Used:

"Damn it!" Deniel held up his sword again to block another attack coming from the rock condor. He was able to make a scratch, but it wasn't nearly enough to actually hurt it. It was like scraping yourself with your nails. While Deniel was fending off the bird, he completely forgot about the mountain demon right behind him. As he blocked another attack from it, he suddenly felt something flick him away with a huge amount of froce. He went right between the bird's talons and few a good 100 feet before he stopped himself and turned back around. The condor turned itself around as well, and opened up its giant beak. While Deniel was flying back to it and the mountain, the condor let out a barrage of rock cannoballs at him. If his blade were sharper, Deniel could cut through them with ease. But since it was't, he was forced to simply dodge them one after another instead. He moved his body from side to side, ducked under another, and did a barrel roll for another. Deniel readied himself to see if he could give another slice to the condor, and this time, do some serious damage. Deniel went his maximum speed in flight, and prepared Nidhogg for another slash. "TAAAAAAAKE THAT!" He flew right past the condor in the blink of an eye, and when he passed it, he tried to cut it deep with Nidhogg.

The results were less than pleasing, however. When Deniel turned around, he saw that only only gave the condor yet another scrape. Since he was instructed to kill it with his sword, he couldn't use his magic. Which meant he had to try and do what he did last time. He had to revive Nidhogg, and made the blade sharp again. That was easier said than done, however.

Spells Used:

Deniel growled and watched the condor turn to face him again. It opened its beak and let out an obnoxious screech. Deniel's senses were increased while he was in this Take Over form, and that made the blow from the screech much harder than it should have been. He grit his teeth and widened his eyes at the pain going through him. He covered both of his ears in an attempt to make the pain and sound much less intense. It didn't get any better, and it left Deniel wide open for an attack. While the bird was letting out its screetch, it also charged up another rock cannon ball to fire at him. With Deniel vulnerable and standing still, it seemed like it was going to hit no matter what. In just a few moments, the bird let loose its rock from its mouth. And just to make sure it would deal serious damage to Deniel, it has increased the size and speed of this one. Deniel watched helplessly as it flew towards him, and knew there was only one thing that he could do. He had to try and cut it up.

He took one hand off of his hear, the hand that held Nidhogg, and prayed with all of his soul it would work. I know you're alive, Nidhogg! Just please! Lend me your power! Deniel gripped the hilt to the sword tighter, and let out a loud battle cry. He slashed Nidhogg as hard as he could in the air, and his prayer had made a miracle happen. The sword suddenly covered itself with a golden glow, and once it disappeared, it looked as good as new. And with all of its strength back, along with Deniel's power, it not only cut through the rock with ease, but was able to slice the sound waves of the bird's screetch in half.

Spells Used:

Deniel didn't waste any more time. He knew that the time of Nidhogg's sharpness was most likely going to be limited, so he had to put it to as much use as possible. Deniel raised it up to the sky and poured all of his energy into it. Nidhogg began to glow with his blue Holy Energy, and for the first time in such a long time; it changed forms. The Holy Energy turned the sword into a white shining bow. Deniel grabbed on to the bowstring and poured even more of his Holy Energy into it. "HEEEYAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Since he wasn't able to kill the bird, he couldn't aim the bow at its chest or head. Instead, he aimed it down at its stomach area. It was a spot that would render it incapable of fighting should it hit. And with the speed of his next arrow, the chances of it missing were even lower than it hitting. Deniel let go of the bowstring, and the instant that he did, an arrow had already pierced through the condor's stomach area. The arrow made a path of light right behind it, and it seemed to have already traveled out of the world just a few seconds after Deniel fired it. The bird let out another screech, but this one was from pain. It took a few steps forward to Deniel, who only stood there and watched it. Eventually, the bird couldn't keep itself concious anymore. It feel harmlessly on the ground right in front of Deniel. It wasn't dead, just unable to move right now. Deniel spun his bow in his hand and then raised it to the sky: "Victory!"

This victory was very short lived. Deniel had completely forgotten about the giant mountain behind him. And it wasn't until he felt something clench around his wings and lift him up that he remembered. The demon had Deniel by the wings, and was lifting him up towards his mouth. Deniel couldn't turn himself around to fire at it, so he was sitting there helpless and dangling. He struggled and jerked hismelf around, trying to be free from its grip. It was all in vain, and soon, Deniel could feel himself falling without having any control over it. That's when Deniel entered a place that was dark, red, and slimy. He kept on falling and falling in a confined space covered in a disgusting slimy material. And that's when he entered a large chamber. Luckily for him, he was able to regain control of his flight. He flapped his wings to make himself stay in the air, and he looked down below at the chamber he was falling in. It was covered in a green smelly liquid. He had been swallowed by the demon.

Spells Used:

Deniel retained his flight while he was inside the stomach, looking for any place he could land. He couldn't fly forever, so he needed to find a spot. He eventually found a small part of the stomach where a cliff-like structure was created. Deniel flew over to it and then landed on it, staring down at the huge pool of green acidic liquid. It bubbled, steamed, and smell disgusting. He folded up his gigantic wings and then groaned. He didn't know what to do. He had never been swallowed by anything before, and Zack said specifically not to kill it. If he managed to cut through this thing, he was sure that the damage would be so serious that the monster would die. He had to think outside of the box here. He walked over to the stomach walls and gave a small push on it. It was very rubbery, and wouldn't be easy to cut through, especially with his blade. It didn't take him long to notice that it went back to being a dull katana, which meant that their bond was broken once again. Just to give it a try, he held up his katana and gave a poke at the walls of the stomach. He tried pushing against it with all of his might, but only ended up stretching it. What Deniel didn't know is the demon had felt his poking, which meant it knew Deniel didn't fall into the digestive acids. It let out a huge roar that could be heard inside of its body, shaking the stomach acid and making Deniel cover his ears.

After the roar was over, the stomach acid inside of the stomach began to bubble and boil. Deniel was thinking that it was going to rise, but it was going to be something much worse. Instead of the acid rising or something coming out of it, it became something.

Spells Used:

The stomach acid turned intself into a serpent shape, with empty black eyes and a mouth. It was like looking straight at a green liquid in the shape of a sea serpent or a Leviathan. The serpent let out a roar at Deniel, cuasing the stomach acid to spray everywhere like rain. Deniel shielded his eyes as the stomach acid came into contact with his armor, sizzling through it a bit and causing some small holes to be created. Deniel didn't really mind the pain at all, in fact, once it was all over he opened his eyes and shook his head from the acid. "That's really gross..." The Stomach Acid Leviathan only roared at him again, but this time Deniel wasn't just going to sit there and let the acid hit him. He jumped up from the ledge he was standing on, and took flight in the demon's stomach, which was quite the large place considering its size. He flew straight towards the serpent, and tried to cut straight through it. He technically did, but it didn't do anything. Cutting liquid isn't really possible; all he did was displace it. His blade went right through, and then the serpent pretty much repaired itself. It turned around from its position, and then suddenly from its body came a small splash of the acid. It melted through Deniel's armor a little further, and he was barely able to keep himself flying above the water. Deniel was instructed to defeat the demon using only his sword, which meant magic was out of the question.

"Grrr! What to do...what to do..." Deniel stared down at his blade, Nidhogg, and remembered the wounded dragon. He had no idea that this sword was a living creature, and a dragon at that. Wait...if it were a dragon, then that meant it must have its own kind of power. Deniel clenched on to Nidhogg tighter, and began to focus and use his very soul with his next attack. Nidhogg! Please! I know you can hear me! Lend me your power! While Deniel was trying to find the spirit of the sword again, the serpent was charging up another storm of stomach acid.

Spells Used:

Deniel once again found himself in the world of his sword, Nidhogg. An endless blackness, with only grey fog covering some parts of it, but that's what it mostly was. There was no up, no down, no left, or right. A person could turn themselves in anyway, and it wouldn't feel like they turned at all. Deniel made his way through this endless blackness, trying to find the one source of light; the white platform where his dragon lay. He searched and searched for what seemed like hours, even though his physical body in real time didn't even go through a nanosecond. "Nidhogg! Where are you!?" Deniel found himself the answer in just a few short moments, when he found the smallest speck of whiteness. He tried going towards it as fast as he could, even though his way of movement in this world didn't seem fast. The white speck slowly turned into a white dot, and then a white circle, and it kept on getting bigger and bigger. And on that dot, Deniel could once again see the black shape of a serpent dragon: Nidhogg. Deniel reached the platform and landed on it. Now it seemed like the laws of physics were once again in play while on here. Nidhogg looked as damaged as ever, and he was barely breathing. Deniel placed his hand on the nose part of the dragon's head, which had two mustcache-like pieces of red hair coming from the sides and draping on to the ground.  Deniel looked at the black serpent body, with the suspended wings, horns, and hair that came out of the back of its head. Nidhogg would have been dead were it not for his breathing, and that's what gave Deniel hope.

"Nidhogg! Please! Please answer me! I know can hear me! You just have to forgive me! I'm sorry for resenting you." The large black dragon didn't budge one bit. Deniel grew more desperate to get some form of attention out of him. "Nidhogg, come on! Don't play games with me here! I'm sorry! I truly am!" Again, no response came out of the slumbering dragon. Deniel could feel tears swelling up in his eyes, and that's when he hugged the nose of the black dragon. "Nidhogg! Without you I'm going to die now! So please, help me! Not as my servant or my blade or my pet, but as my friend!" A tear shed down Deniel's head, and hit the nose of Nidhogg. That's when parts of the black dragon's body began to glow in a red flame-like design, and its red eyes burst wide open. It stood up on its four taloned feet, and stretched its wings out wide. Nidhogg let out a terrifying roar as it awakened once again.

Deniel stepped back in alarm as Nidhogg awakened and the red marks appeared on its body. This was the very first time Deniel heard Nidhogg roar, in fact, he never thought of Nidhogg as a dragon. He thought the sword could just talk, he never thought that it was a living being. Once Nidhogg finished its roar, he stared down at Deniel with his pure red eyes. The injuries in his body seemed to have disappeared. Now Deniel was staring at a dragon whose body stretched out about fourty feet, and towered over him a good ten. "Deniel...is that really you?" Nidhogg's mouth actually moved, which was also something new to Deniel. All his sword usually did was just glow over and over again. Deniel gave a small nod at the giant dragon standing before him. "I should be saying the same thing...this is what you are, Nidhogg!?" Nidhogg made his long neck turn around to see the rest of his body, and then look at each of his wings. He didn't have shoulders, so he just stood himself up on his hind legs and gave his front ones a shrugging motion. "It is. I suppose it would be surprising to me, too. Anyway, what happened? Why are you here? All I remember is..." Nidhogg suddenly started to remember what had happened to him before everything went black. This made his red eyes give a scowl, and he lowered himself down to Deniel's level. He gave a threatening sound with smoke coming out of his nostrils.

"You tossed me aside for that human girl!" Deniel bared his sharp teeth at Deniel, looking ready to strike at any moment. All he was waiting for was Deniel's last words. He was expecting Deniel to be fearful of his appearance, but Deniel stood his ground. "Nidhogg, I made a mistake. I didn't cast you aside. You were only making me angry." Nidhogg wasn't impressed with his answer, but didn't attack him just yet. "I didn't abandon you, Nidhogg! After what happened, I mourned for the losso f you. I wanted to know how to get you back, and I have! Doesn't that show something, Nidhogg? You're not my partner. You're my friend. And...Alyia is no longer human. She's an angel." Nidhogg suddenly stopped baring his teeth, and his face grew calm once again. He lifted his head back up, looking down at Deniel. It wasn't the part about Alyia that got to him, it was Deniel saying he was his friend and not his partner. "So...I'm just just a piece of metal to swing around to you?"

Deniel smirked at Nidhogg and approached the dragon. He placed his hand on the stomach part of his serpent body and stared directly up at him. "You're not, Nidhogg. I now realize that you're a living being like me. You have feelings...and you have a shape. It's not a piece of metal; it's an all-powerful dragon." Deniel stepped back from Nidhogg, and the two continued to stare at each other. It was completely silence, and then, both of them started to chuckle. Their chuckles soon turned into laughter, "Hahahah! Well said, my friend!" Nidhogg held out one of his claws to Deniel while the two laughed, and Deniel put his hand around one of his nails and shook his hand...claw. Deniel pulled his hand back, and Nidhogg did the same with his claw. Their laughter stopped. Everything was taken care of here now. "Damn it! I forgot. I'm still in a pickle, Nidhogg! I'm in the stomach of a giant monster, and if I don't get out, I'll die!" Nidhogg smirked at Deniel, and then held his head low to him. "Leave that to me, my friend! Hop on!" Deniel didn't know what Nidhogg was talking about, but he got on him anyway. He jumped on top of his head, and moved back to where his horns and hair were. Deniel held on to his horn as a sort of reign so the wouldn't fall off. Nidhogg let out another roar and spread out his giant wings. He pushed himself off the ground and tucked all four of his legs in. His wings flapped to keep himself in the air, and then he began to fly through the empty black space.

Suddenly, Deniel found himself back in reality on Nidhogg's head. Nidhogg took the attack from the stomach acid leviathan without a scratch, and could barely fit in the stomach of the giant mountain demon. The demon outside could feel it, and he didn't like it. Nidhogg roared at the serpent, and then let out a roar of what appeared to be the same Unholy Energy Deniel used, but much more abundant and...darker. Once he roared, the demon couldn't take in the pain, and began to throw up some of the acid inside of it. Nidhogg used this as an opportunity to escape; he went right along with the acid, and then the demon let out a very painful but satisfying barf, Nidhogg came riding right out of it. At this point, Deniel was standing on top of the dragon's head instead of being afraid of himself falling. He was also back in his angel form since he was in reality once again. "Woooooooo! Yeah!"

Spells Used:

"Nidhogg! Gets some of its hair while it's distracted!" Deniel said this as loud as he could, but since he was standing near Nidhogg's ears, the dragons could hear him loud and clear over the wind. And it was a good thing, too. Because he was about to take off and leave Deniel's objective behind. Nidhogg turned itself around and swooped right over the head of the demon. Like an eagle catching fish, he encased his claws around a couple of strands of hair from the demon and yanked it right off. Afterwards, it turned around once again, and began to soar through the sky. Deniel looked below and spotted Zack Rose, whom he pointed down to. "Land there! That's the guy we need to see!" Nidhogg obeyed Deniel's command and circled around Zack before landing itself on the ground. As he landed, Deniel jumped out from its head and landed right in front of it. The dragon spread out its wings and roared, while Deniel made a pose with his arms stretched out, and him crouching down. Once he did, Deniel ended his White Angel Take Over so he was back to his normal form with his pale skin and black clothing. Both of them stayed still for a moment, before Deniel got up and Nidhogg let his wings relax down on his back. Deniel motioned Nidhogg with his hand, and the dragon held out its claw to Deniel, opening it up with some strands of hair from the monster. Deniel took them and presented them to Zack Rose. "The task is complete. I got the hair...and gave the guy a bit of a stomach ache. At the same time, I got Nidhogg back."

Deniel stared back at the mighty sperent dragon. He was starting to think that his work was done here, but his dragon-sword was thinking otherwise. "Deniel...if you were able to restore me under his guidance, than perhaps he can teach you more." The dragon then stared at Zack, and lowered its head down a bit. "Would you be willing to put up with this brat a little longer to teach him the use of magic with a sword?"

Spells Used:

Zack had been using his sensory skill combined with his own personal way of detecting people to keep track of exactly what was happening inside the beast. Deniel was never really in any true harm, but he didn't need to know that.

"It seems you have successfully brought back your friend and..." he closed his eyes briefly. "...you have improved as a swordsman, but the question is...have you improved enough?" Zack grinned and lifted his eyepatch revealing a glowing green orb. It twinkled briefly and then from it emerged a black long sword. "Meet my nobility."

Zack leapt back and stood in a ready stance. "You have shown your skill, you have improved it, but now comes the test." Zack said preparing himself. "Show me what you've got. Hit me once before I hit you three times and you will pass. Oh and I won't be holding back." He exhaled deeply and then suddenly his magic power surged and a dense aura surrounded him. An aura that spiked his hair and made his eyes glowed. His speed and strength were now buffed to 120%.

With that he faded into air and was suddenly a good 100ft away from his opponent still in his ready stance. "Bring it on."

Sky Emperor Mantle.:

"Very welll, then. Deniel, let's do this!" Deniel stared up at the large dragon behind him and then held up his hand. Nidhogg began to glow with a red energy, and then his dragon form had turned into a red ball. This ball then made its way to the palm of Deniel's hand, and then shaped itself in the shape of a katana. The red energy faded, and now Nidhogg was back to its original form as a blade. "Bla--" Deniel was about to assume his Black Devil Take Over so he could gain as much of his power as possible, but his sword spoke up before he did. This time, it was in his mind so Zack wouldn't hear. The two were able to communicate to each other in such a way. Hold up right there, Deniel. This is the test of your sword, not your Take Over. But he's probably three times as strong as me! Then get three times stronger. And besides...I have a new trick. Deniel nodded and then spun Nidhogg while it was still sheathed in its scabbard in a circle. The katana glowed a red color similar to when it went from a dragon to a sword, and then changed itself into an entirely new weapon, one that Deniel had used quite often. Instead of a black katana, Nidhogg was now a large curved broadsword with a brown hilt, and quite a unique part in its center.

On the edges of it was the blade used for cutting, but in the center part of the large blade was demonic skin with an eye on one side of the sword, and a lot of red holes on the other. This was Nidhogg's demonic form: Armageddon. Deniel felt kind of weird holding a sword that was almost as big as him when he wasn't in his Black Devil form, and that his scrawny looking arms could lift such a thing. He stanced himself by bending his knees, and holding the sword to the right side of his body just above his shoulder using both hands. He pointed the tip right at Zack, and let the moments pass by. Instead of starting the battle too recklessly, Deniel used a small trick up his sleeve. One moment he was simply standing there, and then suddenly the blade of Armageddon shot straight out at Zack at a rate of 25 meters per second, per second, while still being connected to the hilt.

Deniel knew that there was no way that attack was going to hit, and either Zack was going to dodge or parry it. Either way, when it came close in his vicinity, Deniel let Zack do whatever he was going to do, and then started to close the distance between the two. While he was running, Nidhogg retracted itself back to Deniel in quite literally an instant. Deniel pulled back his sword to perform his first slash at Zack, horizontally with brutal strength.

Amrageddon Sword:

The first blow was a good one. He used speed and strength with his sword's unique ability to try and hit him. Zack merely grinned and side stepped. It was as his opponent came in close for an attack that Zack really showed off exactly how much strength he had. He swung the sword in such a way that the blow was parried one handed. "Good start, Swift, but powerful attack with a feint." Zack said as he struck forward with a powerful palm strike. "Oh and just do you know for this battle only sword attacks count as points." This way he would prolong the battle even if this blow connected. He honestly hoped it didn't. He was sure Deniel with his fancy form changing sword would be able to somehow defend against it or dodge. Zack hadn't even used all this form's abilities yet. "Oh and if you feel the need to use your takeover then feel free...after all for you...swordsmanship in all your forms is important."

In truth this last comment was because Zack had rarely fought takeover mages and as such he wanted to test his strength against a form changing opponent of sorts. It would be a most...interesting battle. It was already pretty interesting. The fact his sword could become a full blown dragon was damn impressive to say the least.

Deniel was getting ready to pull his blade back in front of him to defend against the palm strike, since the width of the whole thing was bigger than him, but then Zack said he was able to use his Take Over forms AND it didn't count. Just those words made Deniel halt his sword and purposely take the blow. He defeinitely felt it, but it wouldn't kill him. He slid back from the force, but began to laugh once he stopped. "Well, don't mind if I do, then!" Deniel raised his sword Armageddon to the sky, and then stabbed it on the ground. He clenched both of his fists, and then a small fault in the ground glowing with red energy was created, going diagonally, then another in the opposite direction, before going through the middle, and then a straight line, and then back to the very beginning. A pentagram was created, and Deniel sunk straight into the ground with his eyes closed. A few moments passed by, and he emerged just as quickly as he submerged. His black hair was now spiked back, and the skin on his face was grey. Once his shoulders came up, they were covered in a black armor, and his arms were turned into black scales with sharp claws on the ends of it. His chest had a belt-like piece of armor to cover it all around, and just like his arms, his legs all the way down to his knees were covered in black scales. From his knees down, Deniel was wearing black combat boots with two golden spikes sticking out in opposite directions on his knees. And on his back were a pair of beetle-like wings.

Once he came all the way up from under the ground, he cracked his neck and then grabbed the sword he stabbed in the ground. Now he looked much more appropriate to be wielding it. He pulled it up, and once he did, the wings on his back began to rattle as they usually did whenever he was in danger or in combat. "Alright! Let's go!" His voice was now much more harsh than before, but it was natural, not because he was angry. With his new Take Over form, Deniel's strength and defensive capabilities were more than doubled, while his speed and reflexes were doubled as well. This way, he would be much harder to hit, and hit much harder. To make a small demonstration of what he was capable of, Deniel leaped from his current position and went crashing down to Zack with his sword ready for a cut. And after that happened and his feet hit the ground again, he slashed thrice; one going from the shoulder to the waist, another across the stomach, and the third followed up from the second. After he finished the second cut, he continued the momentum by spinning in a circle, and giving Zack and uppercut slash from down below.

However, Deniel was almost certain none of these would hit sinec Zack was a much more professional swordsman than he was. So to make sure that he could prepare to defend himself, he jumped back to where he was originally standing.

Spells Used:

Zack waited and watched as the man took the blow and his invitation to use his takeovers. Unlike most people he had heard of using this magic, the man actually sunk into his magic seal and emerged taken over. Most just transformed parts of their bodies or so he had heard. Interesting.

The man came down with a crashing blow, which Zack blocked with his own blade turned on the side so he could use both hands to withstand the blow. He had seen the strength and sensed it too. It might not have been quite necessary to use both hands, but it showed he was acknowledging his pupil's strength. Particularly because he used the momentum of gravity in the blow. Something Zack often used. The next set of blows were easily parried due to his superior speed, but the third was a bit trickier and Zack was forced to perform a rather awkward block. "Momentum is key in every fight, particularly one with a blade." Zack said and leaped back before kicking off the ground and throwing himself straight at his student. He wasn't even touching the ground when he struck, he was using his flight to add to it. It was a pure momentum strike with all his weight behind it like a human spear. It was aimed for a non fatal blow, but it would hurt like hell. Even if it was blocked Zack would seem to dissapear into nothingness and reform about 10ft behind Deniel.

"Keep trying. You get better with every movement." he said with a grin. "You aren't at the level yet where your body knows instinctively how to react, but it will come."
