Celestial Spirit King (Spoiler if you aren't up to date with the manga)

Ok basically, in the manga, Lucy is able to summon the celestial spirit king once she is able to summon three spirits at once. However, she is only able to do so by sacrificing one of her gold keys. So for this reason there cannot ever be a celestial spirit king key and there really can't be a celestial king spell.

However, it is essentially an ability that EVERY celestial mage could use if they give up their golden key. So what if we introduce this on site?

We as a site create a 'celestial king' spell and discuss it, or staff can do it. In order to use this a person must give up their golden key permanently and it will re-open. They will not be allowed to re-apply for it, they may be able to re-apply for another one though.

it will require some thought, but i thought it might be interesting and make the site fit more with canon even if we are non-canon.

I like it. However there should be some rank requirement to summon the CS king or everyone and their uncle will be summoning him. Sure they lose a gold key but that is a small price to pay to be able to ohko a 100 year job boss at D-Rank

Well one requirement will be able to summon three spirits at once. So you'd need to be at least C rank, but....that isn't enough of a requirement.

Maybe you need to be A rank in order to summon a weak form of him and then S rank gets a stronger form and H rank gets the strongest form.

Another requirement for summoning the Celestial Spirit King, was that the owner of the gold key had to actually have a deep connection with the spirit of that key... so probably have some form of time frame in mind? Like you need to have had the Gold Key for say... half a year since it got approved maybe?

I know Liquid Time and all that but *shrugs* Just a thought.

Or maybe have done so many posts whilst possessing that key might be better...or so many threads or whatever

Maybe it could be required that you rank up twice since you acquired your key?

Been reading through this as it went(even though it isn't all that long yet lol) and thought I would add in some change to the pot.

I'm thinking the idea of having it be a certain number of threads would be better to decide the time frame needed with the celestial spirit in the golden key. Can maybe have a thread after the number of threads has been met and finished where they RP out the closeness of the mage and the spirit. Just throwing out ideas here

How about we actually make the summon before we try to find ways to already control and nerf him. Although would this summon even be considered an H-rank spell? This summon appears closer to X-rank in strength.

I honestly feel he'd work at H rank. We've only seen Meteor Blade which I think is probably equivalent to a Roar at H rank, with how we balanced them and Galaxia Blade which I think would probably work as a H rank dispel.

However, we have also seen the 'empowerment' thing where he gave Lucy the power of Aquarius. This may be because she broke the key of aquarius so gained that power or maybe the king can give whatever powers he likes. This bit is where he gets tricky.


What may happen is that the CS king works like a weapon. You can sacrifice your gold key at any rank, but you only get the CS king at your rank or the one above. So a D rank would get a C rank version, a H rank would get an X rank version(Double H). This is how I suspect it would work.

Still...some restrictions as to when you can summon it should be implemented

I just think its best to make the King, get idea of specs and then restrict it. That way we have the exact idea on how much to restrict it.

Well we haven't even got any notice from staff yet so we don't even know if the king is gonna be a thing yet

Looks like we will have to wait if anything. I think something small could be implemented for this. Small as in easy to add but still time consuming to accomplish I hope. Its always better to work towards something than to just be given it for free. Makes it more valuable in many ways.
