Gathering Between Roamers [Egg Yoke y Blankazz, Ask to Playzz]

“Ugh. Barkeep, you sure you haven’t heard of any type of work?” A young voice called to the barkeeper as he worked. The redheaded girl was laying on the bar, twirling a drink in her hands as a man came and shook his head while cleaning a cup. The girl sighed and took a drink out of her glass. “Man. Usually you have all types of work rumors. Are you sure that there is nothing?” She desperately asked, wanting to really have work or something. The man sighed and shook his head once more.

“I told ya Yoko, I got nothin. Maybe in a week or two, but not now.” The barkeeper then took her now empty glass and left the girl, Yoko, sitting there for a while. She groaned and threw her hands up in the air in exasperation, irritated that she couldn’t get a good job rumor off the man.

“Ugh! Where can a girl find some work?!?!” She cried out, gaining a bit of attention but not much hopefully Yoko needed work and fast.

Hearing someone sit next to her, Yoko turned her head and frowned when she noted a man sat down next to her. He was blonde, and seemed to smile at her as he looked towards her direction, which nearly made her gag. Her hatred of males did not bypass this new guy who had probably come for something perverted when she had mentioned she needed work. However, her irritation was halted when he mentioned what type of job he was looking to give to her. It seemed like easy money and some free food. She would just have to tolerate working for another man again, and hope that it all worked out as she smiled back at him.

“Well. You seem to have peaked my interest.” Yoko stated as she pulled out a piece of candy from her shorts pocket and began to chew on it. “How much would you pay me?” She asked the blonde male, curious as to what she would earn for this job. If it wasn’t worth it, she wouldn’t take it. But if it was….then by all means she would eat all of the food he wanted her to.

Yoko nodded and grinned slightly when the man mentioned at least one thousand jewels. That would be enough to help feed her candy addiction for a while at least. “Deal. No less than one thousand, you fall back on your promise I will make you wish you had never met me.” While he seemed like a generally nice guy, Yoko had learned that even the nicest seeming of people could be complete and utter bastards. It was not a lesson she wanted to forget, so she would make sure this was purely business. Her grin stayed as she got off the barstool and dusted herself off and let the man take the lead. Her keys jingled on her hip as she followed him, her hands folded behind her head.

“Blanka eh? Names Yoko. Remember it.” Yoko stated as they walked. She thought about his question for a moment before turning her attention to him fully. “As for flavors, try to make it sweet for me eh? I really like sweet things so that’s all I would ask for.” Yoko questioned for a brief moment why he would want her preferences, but just shrugged it off and continued to walk behind him while swinging her body ever so slightly as she walked.

Yoko shrugged, looking around at the people before answering Blanka. “Yeah that sounds fine. I’m in no real hurry anyways.” It was true. Jobs had been scarce, and she wasn’t exactly jumping for joy at having to find job posters somewhere that wasn’t in a guild. It meant more work for the young girl to find the actual work, and then it was just going to be even more irritating as she worked. Shaking her head to clear it of the irritating and annoying thoughts Yoko focused on Blanka again, she was a bit curious about her employer for this job so she would ask him about a couple of things. “So Blanka, you a cook or somethin’? I would assume so since you are cooking now. Unless you have some other sort of job that just so happens to include cooking?” She jokingly asked, a cheeky smile on her face.

Yoko followed behind Blanka as he entered the store, and leaned against a wall as the blonde went to go and get whatever it was that he needed to get. Digging in her pocket as he conversed with the worker, Yoko pulled out her orange goggles and strapped them on over her eyes. It wasn’t her attempt at looking cool or anything, it was just something she did when waiting or bored. Pulling out another piece of candy, Yoko began to chew on it before she looked up to Blanka again and answered his question.

“Eh? Ah, nah I’m fine. I think I’ll be good for a while.” She spoke before looking away briefly, and continuing to wait for Blanka to accomplish what he needed. She was only here for the job after all, and knowing he was a mage was all the extra information she needed.

Yoko flicked some stray strands of hair from out of her face, before following Blanka out of the store. The redhead pulled out a sucker and placed it in her mouth, walking behind him at a sedate pace, wondering where he would go next. While she wasn’t exactly curious as to what his life was like, she was curious if this was some sort of elaborate trap to get the merc off guard. For now she would humor him, and see where that eventually led. “Being a mercenary is only as efficient as the jobs you can get. Being a mage helps broaden the spectrum of what jobs I can take. Thus maximizing the amount of cash I can gain.” Yoko answered quickly after his question. It was the truth, she didn’t really need to become a mage to gain cash. But being one certainly helped a lot as the jobs that needed a mage certainly paid a nice sum to boot, giving her the ability to get even more money in short bursts.

“How about you. Why did you become a mage?” She asked in return. It was only fair to show as much curiosity in him that he did in her.

Yoko followed Blanka, listening intently to what he was saying but staying quiet. She didn’t have any family to protect, but it made some sense to the woman. At least, enough to where she would halt her thoughts on killing the man after the job. She didn’t exactly care for his family mourning his death, but she didn’t want to be chased after by rune knights either. So she would hold on the murderous tendencies until long after she had departed from his presence. As they entered the home of Blanka’s cousin, she took her boots off to be generously nice and not mess the entire place up. Taking a seat on the couch when he offered it, Yoko stretched out lazily. When asked what she would like to drink, Yoko answered simply. “Something alcoholic I would prefer.”

Yoko shifted herself a bit on the couch, and looked in the direction Blanka went. “Sorry if I’m intruding or anything on your cousin’s stuff.” She apologized, only because she didn’t know if his cousin was male or female yet.
