Magic
Primary Magic: Elemental Soul Takeover
Secondary Magic: N/A
Caster or Holder: Caster
Description:
- Kiku uses a form of takeover magic that is made possible through contracts she has made with elementals. More specific agreements made inside of a contract with a particular elemental means more powerful takeovers with that elemental. Once the contract is made, Kiku is able to transfer a portion of their magic into herself, transforming parts, or the entirety of her body into a mixture of the elemental's body, and her own. The takeover also transfers a bit of the elemental's personality into Kiku for the duration. To use a takeover, Kiku says the name of the Elemental, and focuses on the body part she wishes to transfer the Soul into. Her spells have a motion connected to them that allows Kiku to activate them, like stomping the ground, snapping her fingers, or making a fist.
- There are two elementals that Kiku currently has a contract with. The first of which is Efreet, the Original Flame. Efreet is a fire elemental which focuses on lighting the environment on fire, and burning his enemies along with it. When in this form, Kiku will constantly spill fire from the body parts that are using the takeover. She can then manipulate the fire in different ways, making this takeover a primarily AOE style combat.
- The second elemental which Kiku has a contract with is Astaroth, the Binding Darkness. Astaroth has no damage based spells or effects. Instead, he focuses on disabling enemies, instilling fear in their minds, and ridding them of their will to fight.
Strengths:
- Control: Kiku's magic focuses on terrain manipulation, and enemy control, enabling her to keep her enemies confused, immobilized, or otherwise unable to fight while she bides her time to find the right moment for her attack.
- AOE: Kiku's first takeover, Efreet, focuses on mass attack, lighting the entire battlefield on fire.
- Diversity: With multiple takeovers, Kiku has a wide variety of strategies that she can pool from, giving her versatility in combat.
Weaknesses:
- Destruction: Kiku's first takeover, Efreet, is extremely destructive. She does not have a lot of control over where her fire goes, or who/what it burns until it is set on the ground.
- Elemental: Each element has an opposite, fire has water, shadows have light. If the sunlight is too powerful where Kiku is, she cannot use Astaroth without taking serious damage.
- Direct attacks: Kiku's magic is focused on strategy, not directly attacking her opponent, making her less effective in a one on one fight.
- Slayers: As all of Kiku's magic is based around the elements, there are slayers that can absorb her attacks, making her useless in a fight against slayers of her element.
Abilities/Powers:
Thermic Breath: Kiku, when outside of any takeover, can breathe a small amount of fire. This fire does no damage, rather it warms Kiku and her environment. Kiku's body becomes warm enough that she can slowly melt snow if she is walking on it. She can also heat a cup of water she's holding to the point of steaming. This ability cannot be used in combat.

Kiku's body becomes warm enough that she can slowly melt snow if she is walking on it. She can also heat a cup of water she's holding to the point of steaming. This ability cannot be used in combat.
- Takeover Class Advancement, and Statistics:
Kiku has access to one ability and one spell for every limb she has a takeover on from the respective takeover. In full takeover, Kiku gains all spells and abilities from the respective Elemental Soul.
D-Rank: Kiku can takeover one limb at a time. She can sustain her takeover for one post, and then must wait one post for her energy to fill up. She cannot use the same takeover twice in a row, unless she waits three posts.
C-Rank: Kiku can takeover two limbs at a time, and can sustain her takeover for two posts. She must then wait one post to use another takeover, and two posts to use the same again.
B-Rank: Kiku can use takeover on any and all limbs, and can do a full takeover. The full takeover only lasts one post, but has control of all the spells and abilities in it's arsenal with a three post cool-down. A partial takeover now lasts three posts, with a one post cool-down.
A-Rank: Kiku can now use a full takeover for two posts, with a two post cool-down. Her partial takeovers last four posts, with a one post cool-down.
S-Rank: Kiku's full takeovers last for three posts, with a one post cool-down. She can sustain partial takeovers for six posts, with a one post cool-down.
- Efreet, The Original Flame:
Below are pictures of Efreet, and the form Kiku takes when using Efreet's full takeover.- Abilities/Powers:
World in Flames: When Kiku uses Efreet, whatever part of her that is taken over constantly emits liquid-esque fire. The fire lingers for three posts, and can spread along flammable objects such as wood or dried flora. The fire burns enemies for half Kiku's Rank Damage, per post. While in contact with the taken over portion of her body, an enemy will take one of Kiku's rank damage, per post. These flames are emitted by the majority of Efreet's spells.
Flames of a Kin: Kiku's fire from her various spells cannot hurt her. This includes any fire that she made that has ended up on the environment. Additionally, other fire spells do 25% reduced damage if they strike any part of Kiku's body that is using Efreet's takeover.
- Spells:
- C-Rank:
- Signature Spell: Flash Fire:
Name: Flash Fire
Rank: C
Type: Signature Spell, Fire, Offensive
Takeover Body Part: Right Arm
Description: Kiku snaps her fingers and all of her flames within thirty meters glow white hot for a moment. The white fire does additional damage, and spreads flames in a fifteen meter radius. Any enemies that are caught in the radius will take one C-Rank damage from the spell, and will be lit on fire. The flames caused by the aftermath of this spell, as well as the enemies caught on fire, rely on the specifications made by the ability World in Flames.
Cool-down: 2
Damage: C-Rank
Duration: Instant
Range: 30m
AOE: 15m
Strengths:
- Strategy: This spell can easily be used to set up a trap and dish out some decent damage to a large area.
- Destruction: This spell has the capability of destroying structures very easily when used correctly. As the fire is so hot, it has the capability of eating through concrete and cobblestone.
- Defense: If Kiku needs to separate herself from enemies then she can use flash fire to spread the flames between them.
Weaknesses:
- Catastrophe: This spell can very easily destroy and damage things or people that were not the intended target if used incorrectly.
- AOE: This spell is meant for mass area damage, not single target combat, and therefore suffers while being used for a one on one fight due to its lesser damage.
- Resistance: Flash Fire does lesser damage to water and earth mages due to their natural resistance to fire.
- Wind: Fire can easily be redirected, deflected, or put out by strong winds, or barriers of wind.
- Oxygen Thermogenesis:
Name: Oxygen Thermogenesis
Rank: C
Type: Fire, Offensive
Takeover Body Part: Left Hand
Description: Kiku clinches her left fist, igniting the oxygen in a targets lungs doing C-Rank damage and, depending on the target's rank, restricts breathing, doing additional damage. Kiku must have eye contact in order to use this spell, and can choose up to three targets. If Kiku selects more than one target, her range is cut in half, and the breathing restriction will be reduced to the post the spell is used. If Kiku only selects one target, and the target is Kiku's rank, then they will not be able to breathe for two posts. If they are below Kiku's rank, they will go unconscious for two more posts. If the target is above Kiku's rank, then their breathing will be restricted for one post.
Cool-down: 3
Damage: C-Rank per post
Duration: Instant - 2 Posts - 4 Posts
Range: 20m - 40m
Strengths:
- Concealment: The majority of this spell is concealed. Kiku can hide her left hand, and the effect on the target will go un-noticed by the untrained eye.
- Speech: During the duration of the spell, the effected cannot speak due to a lack of oxygen flow.
- Linked: This spell is great for setting up other attacks, and linking together with other spells.
Weaknesses:
- AOE: This spell's damage and suppression become less effective if used for multiple targets, making this a primarily single target spell.
- Anatomy: If a creature does not have lungs, this spell cannot be used on it.
- Timing: If the target is exhaling when Kiku uses this spell it will only do half damage due to the lack of oxygen in the target's lungs.
- Slayer: If this spell is used on a fire element slayer it will benefit them rather than damage them.
- D-Rank:
- Hotfoot Streak:
Name: Hotfoot Streak
Rank: D
Type: Fire, Mobility
Takeover Body Part: Right Leg
Description: Kiku raises her right leg, and sets her foot down toes first. She then dashes forward ten meters, leaving a trail of fire behind her. Kiku can then dash two more times from the endpoint of each dash. If Kiku takes even one step after dashing, the spell ends and she cannot dash again until the cool-down is up. The fire Kiku leaves behind from this spell is based on the ability World In Flames.
Cool-down: 3
Damage: N/A
Duration: Instant
Maximum Length: 10m x 3
Strengths:
- Mobility: This spell is extremely good for dodging attacks, or setting up for an attack.
- Division: This spell can be used to effectively cut off and separate individuals or portions of groups from the rest, giving Kiku a strategic advantage.
- Speed: This spell is nearly instantaneous, subtracting the fractions of seconds that it takes for Kiku to move into the next dash, allowing her to easily catch up to escaping enemies.
Weaknesses:
- Disruption: If Kiku is somehow disrupted after her first dash, she cannot make the second two, making the spell a third as effective.
- Accidents: If Kiku does not pay attention she can accidentally run into an obstacle. She will then be stunned for the remainder of the post, and take D-Rank damage.
- Damage: This spell is strictly strategic, and does no direct damage.
- Water: This spell will be essentially useless when trying to contain a water-element mage or creature.
- Ember Coil:
Name: Ember Coil
Rank: D
Type: Fire, Offensive
Takeover Body Part: Left Arm
Description: Kiku raises her left arm and spins it in a circle towards her intended target. A vortex of flames emits from her arm, moving at seven meters per second, that connects with the target if it is within twenty meters. After reaching the target the flames stop moving forward and close behind the target. Anything else caught within the vortex is thrown out by the spinning flames. All enemies caught within the vortex, as well as the target, take D-Rank Damage. After the duration is up the vortex throws all of it's flames across the battlefield. The flames emitted by this spell are defined by the ability World In Flames.
Cool-down: 4
Damage: D-Rank
Duration: 1 post
Speed: 7mps
Length: 1-20m
Diameter: 5m
Strengths:
- AOE: This spell has the potential to blanket an entire battlefield with fire, including the target, which makes it extremely effective in battles with large groups.
- Tight Quarters: If this spell is used in an inclosed space, like a hallway, it will cause a large amount of force that can knock down same rank enemies and stun lower ranked enemies. It will only knock back an enemy of one rank higher.
- Separation: For the post that this spell is active the target is separated from all other enemies, allowing Kiku to focus damage the target. Kiku also doesn't have to channel this spell which frees her up to dish out some damage.
Weaknesses:
- Absolute Focus: This spell makes the intended target focus all of it's attention on Kiku, making this inadvisable to use on strong enemies like bosses.
- Destruction: This spell will light everything around it on fire, so it cannot be used in an area that contains something Kiku does not want to damage.
- Damage: Due to this abilities massive scale, it sacrifices individual damage for area of effect.
- Speed: This spell takes three seconds to reach maximum length, making it moderately easy to avoid.
- Contract Specifications:
Kiku's Contract with Efreet has three rules. The first rule being that if she uses a full takeover, she must cover everything in sight with fire, and burn it all to ashes. The second being that if she uses it to fight another fire mage, and loses, the contract will be nullified. The last is that she cannot make a contract with a water elemental.
- Astaroth, the Binding Darkness:
Below are pictures of Astaroth, and the form Kiku takes on when using Astaroth's full takeover.
- Abilities/Powers:
Refulgent Declination: When Kiku uses Astaroth's takeover a radius of 30m is made that reduces light by half.
Interwoven shadows: Limbs taken over by, and the Spells of, Astaroth can pass through shadows of any kind, and can go through multiple shadows at a time.
- Spells:
- C-Rank:
- Shackling Shadows:
Name: Shackling Shadows
Rank: C
Type: Shadow, Control
Takeover Body Part: Right Arm
Description: Kiku raises her arm and folds out her palm, releasing a black chain. The chain can latch onto any surface, including living creatures. The area that the chain latches onto has three times the normal weight. Kiku can shorten or lengthen the chain as she wants. Kiku can also lock the chain into place on any surface. Once the chain is set, the length cannot be changed. After the chain is fired, two additional chains can be shot out of the first, which have half the health and length of the original chain.
Cool-down: 2
Damage: N/A
Duration: 2
Durability: 3 C-Rank
Maximum Length: 30m
Strengths:
- Restraint: Once set, force cannot break the chain alone, a link must be broken via magic or physical damage.
- Interwoven Shadows: The chain can pass through shadows, surprising enemies from any direction, and can even mislead them by passing through multiple shadows. This can also be used to make a makeshift barrier.
- Unbalanced: Due to the magic properties of the chain, it will unbalance the portion of the body it attaches to on the enemy, making it difficult to maneuver while attached.
Weaknesses:
- Light: The chain can easily be dispelled by light magic, or intense sunlight (Two times damage from light magic).
- Damage: This spell cannot deal damage, as that goes against Kiku's contract with Astaroth. Meaning, Kiku cannot throw enemies with it, or use it like a whip.
- Chain of Command: If one link in the chain is broken, it will detach from both ends and disappear.
- Strength: Kiku is a physically weak person, so when she first attaches the chain to her target, they can use it to their advantage by yanking the chain before Kiku can lock it into place.
- Shade Persona:
Name: Shade Persona
Rank: C
Type: Shadow, Summon
Takeover Body Part: Right Leg
Description: Kiku stomps her right foot down on the ground and a shade climbs out of the shadows. The shape that the shade takes on can be changed at will by Kiku, but the size is always the same. It is fifteen feet tall and six feet wide. The shade takes four C-Rank hits to destroy. The shade cannot deal physical damage but, instead, deals psychological damage. This means that anything hit by the shade will only attack the shade, and suffer an accuracy loss, for a duration that depends on their rank. Anything below C-Rank can only attack the shade for two posts, and has their accuracy halved. Anything hit by the shade that is C-Rank will not be able to attack anything else but the shade and will have their accuracy reduced by 25% for one post. B-Rank enemies suffer no accuracy loss but cannot attack anything but the shade for one post.
Cool-down: 5
Damage: N/A
Duration: 4
Durability: 4 C-Rank
Strengths:
- Immaterial: Physical attacks will pass through the shade and, though still dealing damage, will allow the shade to make a prompt counter attack. This also allows for the possibility of friendly fire while the shade moves through crowds of enemies. Their weapons will pass straight through the shade, and have a chance of striking an ally.
- Tank: Due to the lack of offensive ability, the shade is extremely durable. It can also garner the attention of higher ranked enemies, allowing Kiku a respite from combat if needed.
- Interwoven Shadows: The shade can travel through shadows, making it extremely agile and effective in darker areas.
Weaknesses:
- Light: The shade can easily be dispelled by light magic, or intense sunlight (Two times damage from light magic).
- Damage: The shade cannot deal any physical damage.
- Slow: The shade's regular movement speed is quite slow without the aid of moving through shadows.
- Slayer: Being completely made of shadows the shade can be consumed, regardless of remaining health, by a shadow slayer.
- D-Rank:
- Nictophobia:
Name: Nictophobia
Rank: D
Type: Shadow, Control
Takeover Body Part: Left Arm
Description: Kiku flexes her left arm, and sends a pulse of dark energy into whatever she is in contact with. The pulse moves at five meters per second, and can only pass over spells from Astaroth's takeover that are in contact with Kiku. Meaning this spell can affect any number of enemies as long as they are connected to Kiku or one of her spells in some way. The pulse causes any person or creature it passes over to be instilled with a fear of the dark for a short time. This means that their sight range will reduce to 10m, and their bodies will lose some muscle and heart rate control. Depending upon rank, the duration and additional effects will change. (accuracy is reduced by 25% for C-Rank, accuracy and damage is reduced by 25% for D-Rank, accuracy and damage is reduced by 50% for lower than D-Rank)
Cool-down: 3
Speed: 5mps
Damage: N/A
Duration: Enemies Lower than D-Rank: 4, of D-Rank: 2, C-Rank: 1
Strengths:
- Control: This spell allows an opening for Kiku to use a weapon, or for allies to attack while the enemy is disoriented.
- Shadows: Kiku, while in takeover, can reach through a shadow to grab her enemy and use this spell, or she can send the pulse along one of her other spells, like Shackling Shadows.
- Domination: This spell is extremely effective on weaker enemies, disabling them more and with a longer duration.
Weaknesses:
- Light: This spell does not work on light mages, or God slayers.
- Insurmountable Strength: This spell is very weak on higher level enemies, and will not effect B-Rank and above enemies.
- Broken Contact: As the spell is a surge of energy passing along Astaroth and his shadows, the line of contact can be broken, rendering the spell useless, and the cool-down is still activated.
- Shadow Based Slayers: This is a shadow based spell, and as such the energy emitted can be absorbed by slayers with the shadow affinity.
- Tomb of Dendroaspis Polylepis:
Name: Tomb of Dendroaspis Polylepis (Black Mamba Snake)
Rank: D
Type: Shadow, Summon
Takeover Body Part: Left Leg
Description: Kiku twists her left foot and twelve jet black snakes slither out of the shadows. These snakes then slither back into shadows, and reach up to latch onto targets via their legs, binding them to the ground. Each snake takes one quarter D-Rank damage to destroy. The snakes are about six feet long, and two inches in diameter. Anything B-Rank or above can simply walk out of the snake's grasp unaffected.
Cool-down: 3
Damage: N/A
Duration: 3
Durability: ¼ D-Rank Each, 3 D-Rank Total
Strengths:
- Interwoven Shadows: The snakes can move through shadows to avoid damage and then re-attach to their target, making it difficult to kill them if you are too slow.
- Immobile: Targets snared by the snakes are easy prey for Kiku and her allies.
- Shadow Territory: The shadows that the snakes originated from, and the shadows that they are passing through, are connected. This allows Kiku to send spells like Nictophobia through those shadows.
Weaknesses:
- Light: The shade can easily be dispelled by light magic, or intense sunlight (Two times damage from light magic).
- Strength in Numbers: Though there are twelve snakes, dividing them lessens the effects of the spell depending on the target's rank. D-Ranks take three snakes to immobilize, and C-Ranks take three snakes to slow, or six to immobilize.
- AOE: Though the snakes have large numbers, and would take a long time to target individually, if a large area of effect spell is used on them at the right time it is easy to dispel them all at once.
- Damage: This spell does no damage.
- Contract Specifications:
The contract with Astaroth has two rules. Firstly, Kiku cannot directly attack with this takeover, Astaroth said to her "My shadows shackle your enemies, and give them despair that only my shadows can give, no more. They do not attack, and they do not destroy. If you misuse my shadows, I will have them pull you into their world, and you will be overcome with darkness". Second, is that Kiku cannot use this takeover against a light mage.
