Patrol The Town. (Elijah. Solo.)

Elijah walked in the midst of the stalls, in the market area of Hargeon. Apparently there had been a thief here and there had been a request sent to the rune knights to take care of it. So, Elijah had taken the job, it was something that he kinda liked, so he had no problem doing it. Even though it felt quite lonely to do it. Most he had done for the day, was wonder around in the middle of the stalls, looking for any suspicious activity, which he hadn't seen at all. All he could do right now, was sigh and hope for something funner to happen or all of this would drive him insane from boredom.

He stopped in front of a stall and took out the job request, just to look over if he is doing the right thing still. Apparently, he was, didn't feel like it at all though.

This wasn't fun at all, being a security guard couldn't be even more boring. All you did was walk between the stalls trying to catch the silly and petty thief. Well, not really petty as thanks to him, some of the more finer merchants didn't come to the market anymore to sell their wares. This caused massive uproar in the regular customers, though the more less lucky merchants probably enjoyed it a little, as now their sales were up.

Suddenly an idea popped into Elijah's head. The merchant's who's sales were increased, enjoyed this. So one of them may be the culprit of these crimes. This would make the most sense and the person would have a reason behind his crimes. Only one thing to do then, find the merchant who has gotten the most out of this, the one with the highest sales at this very moment. That wouldn't be too hard to do.

Elijah quickly made his way to a warehouse, where it was common for the merchants to buy things. He knew about this, due to a conversations, that he had unwillingly listened to or well, he said unwillingly. But it was indeed some valuable information, that would prove really useful in cracking this case. Or so he thought at least.

As he reached the warehouse, he got a few chills running down his spine. It was a massive place, at the docks of Hargeon town. Not a usual place to be at. Although the crime rate was low, thugs did still litter the area.

Elijah pushed open the warehouse door. It made some sounds, that weren't pleasing for the ears of anyone, especially people with a little bit better hearing. As he walked in, Elijah took off his fedora and looked around. It looked deserted, but the burly man behind the counter proved otherwise.

Elijah walked to the counter, adjusting his jacket along the way and eyeing the stuff around him. Most things looked like the usual junk that people sell on the market and nothing too special. Honestly, it didn't look like a place merchants would go to buy their things. Guess they weren't too far from the thugs that harassed them time and time again.

As Elijah got closer to the counter, the man behind it coughed, as to signal his presence. It pulled the rune knights attention and Elijah almost instantly blurted out the question he was meant to ask the man. ''Could you please tell me the merchant who has been buying the most from you this month?'' The owner of the place looked a little suspicious, but as the rune knight symbol was showing, he hesitantly messed around with some papers, before turning back to Elijah.

''So, the merchant that has bought the most, has to be Gregory. A bearded bloke, your height, kinda loves food too much. You should be able to notice him on the market place right away. Though, he keeps hanging around with some boy, like 17 to 19 years of age.''

This was interesting and confirmed Elijah suspicions. He thanked the storage house owner and gave him a few jewels as well. He left the building after that and went back to the market place at a quite a brisk place. The market would be closed soon and Elijah wanted to get this job done before that, so he could go and get something to eat as well.

When he reached the market again, he immediately asked around for this merchant named Gregory and luckily, the first person he asked knew the man's location and market stall. Elijah got pointed to it quickly and he made his way there, hoping to solve this case there and now. But it wouldn't be so easy as he had thought, he suddenly remembered the boy he was told about. There were two culprits, this was strange and not something he had thought about. It would be hard now actually.

When he got to the stall, Elijah started to look at the wares. They really were higher quality than most other stalls around it and pulled the attention of multiple customers at once even. It would be soon when Gregory would run out of wares yet again and more buying would be done and probably another crime committed. Though, Elijah wasn't going to let this happen, no this wouldn't be done. Not when he is watching. Or so he hoped at least, couldn't count on it for sure.

Although, something quite surprising happened. Gregory came to the stall, as there were still customers and closed it, by saying he was done for the day. Losing money like that was strange and required Elijah's attention. Maybe he could catch the two red handed, now that would just be perfect. Hopefully he could do so and with that in mind, he followed the merchant in his tracks.

As he kept following Gregory around ,Elijah devised a plan in his head. A scare tactic for the both of them. What he had planned, was to wait for the merchant to meet up with the boy and then let them talk for a minute or two. Then Elijah would walk to them, summon one of his weapons and arrest the two. Depending on how this went, it would be either really easy and would work right away or it would crash and burn. Well whatever the result, he was going for this, as it seemed like the best way to arrest them.

Well he did have a backup plan and it was to slice their legs, so they couldn't walk away, but that wouldn't fit for a rune knight at all, it was far too brutal for it. Too amazingly brutal, but he kinda liked that idea more, it would allow Elijah to see blood, something witch he adored, as he was a vampire.

This was now it, the merchant had stopped in front of a small alley way. He seemed to be looking around the find anyone who might be following him, but Elijah had done something clever or well, in his mind clever. He had just walked past the merchant, looking like he was minding his own business. Sometimes looking like a gangster really helped his cause and proved to be a really good disguise.

As Elijah went around the corner of the next building, the merchant slipped into the alley. What he didn't know, was that Elijah was now observing the alley, from it's entrance. Weirdly the merchant didn't look behind him, witch was honestly strange.

What Elijah could see was a dead end, just perfect and no doors, even more perfect. He could corner them like rats and arrest them, it was just so perfect. He couldn't even wait for it to happen now.

As Elijah kept observing, he noticed the merchant together with a young lad, who they seemed to talk with. The merchant handed the guy a small envelope, filled with money. This guy really was the robber and Gregory was the mastermind, behind some petty thefts, which held far greater meaning than they originally seemed to.

This was it, Elijah entered the alley, summoned Neferit, the massive axe into his hands and kept walking towards the two, who by now had noticed him. They knew instantly what was coming, by seeing the rune knights mark and they easily knew what they were suspected in, quite convenient actually. Nothing more better than a criminal, who knows what they are charged with. Guess Elijah didn't even need Neferit for this. He just walked up the two, chained their arms together and pushed them away towards a rune knights station. This was more easy than he had thought.

Elijah could feel some Rune Knight pride in himself, as he escorted the criminals to the station. It really had been a simple detective job and then an easy arrest. When he arrived at the station with the two criminals, other rune knights took them off his hands and brought them in with questioning. Elijah had to tell them what exactly he had brought them in for, but that took less than a couple of minutes really, nothing too overly special.

After this, Elijah decided to go and get some food, with the money he had on him. The pay from the job wouldn't get to him on a few days, but he was okay with that. Nothing too bad about it. Elijah was just happy that he had done a real rune knight job. It was a really good feeling. Now, he could go and enjoy some good food and then go on another job the next day.
