Trouble [Mission: Eli]

Raven looked around and sighed as she took her eyes off the piece of paper in her hand. She was supposed to be on a mission with some other member of the same guild. Sadly, she didn’t know who it is and decided to come to Oak town by herself and wait for whoever that took this mission along with her. She shifted her weight from her left leg to her right as she looked around, trying to find anyone with sabertooth symbol on them.

Beside her, Kuroe looked just as impatient as her as he started flapping his wings due to his boredom. “Stop that, Kuroe. You are not the only one who is waiting here, you know?” she scolded as she decided to walk forward, hoping to bump into her partner sometime soon. “My wings are getting stiff here, Raven. I want to fight already,” he complained, pecking her on her cheek. “Ow! I can’t do anything about it. Stop doing that!” She waved her hands around, knocking Kuroe off her shoulder.

Kuroe snickered as he flew up, falling back for Raven’s pace. “So we have to stop a group of wizards. It seems they are causing some problems at the market area of the town. Assisting us is someone named Eli. I don’t think I have heard that name in the guild before but then again, I’m always out traveling,” Raven mused, once again looking around trying to at least feel the presence of someone with magic abilities.

Now this was the kind of work he couldn't bring Emilia on. No offense meant to his partner in crime, but she wasn't the most amazing person in crowded area. Trauma took big, large swings to make it's attacks, and her force pulses would probably hurt a few innocent bystanders. It also made it hard to get near the rampaging magicians when she was decked head to toe in armor. Somehow he had ended up on this job with another Sabertooth wizard, but he didn't really care about it that much. It shouldn't be incredibly difficult for him to deal with them, and it would make handling the numbers easier without Emilia. The only problem was he had no idea who they were or what they looked like. All he had was a name; Raven Kurosaki.

Strolling just outside the market district, he figured he'd be able to find whoever they were outside of it. They could already be inside dealing with the situation, but that seemed unlikely. And if they were, he'd probably hear the fighting. Constantly shifting his view around, Eli tried to see if he could spot anyone who might be Raven. Having nothing to go on really wasn't that helpful at all.

Seeing some movement ahead of him, Eli realized it was a bird of some kind. Perched on a woman's shoulder, it was shifting around and pecking at her face. Something about it seemed off; it definitely wasn't a regular.... raven? Oh, it was a raven. He just saw a probably magical raven when he was looking for a girl named Raven. What are the chances. Approaching the girl, Eli gave her a small smile and wave. "I'm assuming you're Raven? I'm Eli, were supposed to take care of this job together, no?" He took a moment to analyze her, but found himself distracted by the bird. Seriously, what was with everyone he partnered with having animals for some reason? Were they trying to annoy him. Hiding his opinion behind a practiced smile, he continued. "So, do you have any plans for the job so far? You got here before me, so I'm assuming you know more too. For the time being at least, I am under the care of a beautiful strong woman. Not a bad situation if you ask me."

Raven didn’t notice someone coming in her direction till Kuroe poked her on the face with his wings. “Blonde with magical powers coming at 9 O’ Clock,” he said as he returned to his seat on Raven’s shoulder.  She turned just in time to hear him introducing himself. She smiled, nodding her head as a silent form of agreeing to him. Raven didn’t fail to miss the weird glances that he directed at her partner as Kuroe narrowed his eyes at him.

Shrugging at the weird exchange between them, Raven introduced herself before answering Eli’s next question. “I’m Raven as you have already figured out and this one next to me,” she started, gesturing to Kuroe,”is Kuroe, my best friend and a pain in the ow!” she cried out as she felt Kuroe peck her on her cheek. “Dammit Kuroe, you didn’t have to do that!” she turned her head, rubbing her sore cheek to glare at the innocent looking bird with red eyes. “Anyway, as I was saying, I don’t know much about what’s going on except that some fire mages have been making frequent visits to the town, hurting innocent people calling them…demons….” She finished, her voice taking a weird tone at the word demons. Whoever that was doing this must have had his head hit somewhere really badly because nobody there looked anything close to demons and she should know this seeing as she is not even from this era.

“So…yeah…we have to stop them,” she shrugged, tugging at her loose white shirt. She had her hair up in a careless bun and wore a loose white shirt with the picture of a crow flying up at the right side of it along with a pair of black jeans. Her overall outfit looked carelessly put together and messy. “We should look around…this is the time they usually arrive.”
