Job; Entertain The Paitients! [Eli, Obel - Team]

The Job:

It was a rare occasion for Eli to be doing something not strictly for profit. Yeah, he was getting paid for his work right now, but what he was doing was not nearly as well paying as what he could be doing instead. Rather, this was almost a passion project for him. He had seen the job in the guild hall, and there was no way he could bring himself to decline it. He was an entertainer through and through, and what good was an entertainer who couldn't make children smile? It was good to go back to his routes every now and then. Besides, it was steady pay for a show that wasn't stolen, he considered that a success.

There was however one issue with the job. Though it wasn't really an issue, more a change. He wasn't the first one to get it. Someone else had applied for the job before him, an Obel Winthrop. There was no way he could let such a good job slip through his fingers however, so he managed to cut a deal; they'd take the job together. Waiting outside the hospital, he waited for the fellow guildmate to join him, for once feeling eager to get to work.

Obel need not lift her head from the book she was reading for the wolf at her side lead her in the right direction by nudging her with his nose when a direction change was needed. The book showered her perfectly white dress with fragments of dust s she turned each page and walked steadily towards her second job as a mage. She werent exactly pumped up at the thought of this job however she would do anything that helped her become a stronger mage. And as for the sharing job thing, that was a drag, she had never been that good a socialising and her remarks always seemed rude instead of friendly. As she neared the building she put her book in the teddy shaped bag slung around her chest and caught sight of the boy who must be her team mate for this job. Aparently he was in Sabertooth as well, although Obel had to admit she had never seen him before.

Noticing the pair enter into the building, Eli figured that the girl was probably his guildmate for the mission. Maybe it was a bit of a leap, but he assumed it from the wolf walking by her. It wasn't exactly a common thing, and most mages were accustomed to the more diverse life. He smiled softly at the pair, trying to appraise them from their movement. Eli's mind almost always analyzed for the tiniest hints, and he read body movement like a pro. 'Judging from her stance she seems withdrawn, defensive. Her expression isn't the happiest either, probably annoyed with me for putting into the mission. Maybe a diva syndrome? The wolf is hovering close to her, very defensively, so an aggressive protector type. My work is cut out for me dealing with them.'

Once they were close enough, Eli gave a small bow. "I'm assuming you're Miss Winthrop? My name is Eli, and it is truly a pleasure to make your acquaintance." He eyed the wolf carefully. Eli wasn't a big fan of animals, and seeing such a large one felt like an ill omen. He hid his ill will behind a perfectly practiced facade however, his face not even showing a hint of anything but friendliness. "Do you mind if I ask who your friend here is?" He already had a plan for how to handle the show, and he hoped Obel would let him take the lead. Working the dog in might be a problem however. "So, do you mind if I ask what you have planned for the job? I've been doing shows like this for years, so I've already got a good idea how to handle it if you'll let me."

Obel watched as the boy before her bowed stating that his name was Eli and asking if she was 'Miss Winthrop'. Obel nodded in confirmation. She noticed the way Eli's eyes lingered on the wolf beside her almost as if he was wary of its presence. There was an awkward silence before Eli asked "Do you mind if I ask who your friend here is? So, do you mind if I ask what you have planned for the job? I've been doing shows like this for years, so I've already got a good idea how to handle it if you'll let me." Obel blinked slowly, overwhelmed by the questions throw at her she absent mindedly patted the wolf beside her before answering, "This is Hinata, he was just accompanying me here and will leave as soon as he thinks I am safe," the silvery wolf seemed to nod at her comment "I have no plans for this job so please feel free to take the lead." Obel had hoped Eli wouldnt show up, it was hard enough trying to keep her 'tsundere' façade on in front of others and she didnt need this guy ruining it by seeing her be nice to the patients awaiting them.

Eli could feel that his opinions on Obel seemed fairly accurate. She looked withdrawn, and was clearly not used to a situation where tshe had to deal with others. As well, her behavior reminded him of a pseudo Emilia, at least speech wise. Very blunt, to the point. He could handle this very well, Seeing that she gave Eli toe go ahead to take the lead he smiled. "Perfect. Just follow my queue's and you'll be fine. For once I have a beautiful assistant to help me. I can feel todays going to be a great day." With a small smile he turned away from Obel, expecting her to follow him as he approached the room.

He also felt a lot more relaxed knowing that the wolf was leaving. He didn't want to have to deal with it during the show, shoving it's head around looking for attention or randomly howling because it got bored. Most people claimed that their creatures were well trained and intelligent, but so far he had yet to believe one of them. Stopping before the door to the patients room, Eli turned to Obel. "Alright, as I said before, just follow my lead and we'll all be fine. Just hold onto this and I'll bring you in for the entrance." Eli handed Obel a seemingly blank playing card, with a strange design drawn onto one side. Sliding another under the doorway, Eli suddenly vanished from in front of Obel, as if he was never there at all. All that remained was a blank playing card where he once stood.

Using Motus to move himself into the room, Eli suddenly appeared before the paitients. Most of them were shocked, wondering what had just happened. Giving them all a smile, Eli raised his hands in a grand gesture. "Greetings, my little friends! I am here today to show you wonders and stories beyond belief!" As he spoke, a small explosion of flames appeared above him, as if fireworks had gone off. It was from a simple Ignis cricle, flicked into the air on a coin while he distracted them with his voice, it's power lowered through Mana Battery. There were 8 beds, four on either side of the room, all currently full of wide eyed children, amazed at what had just happened. "Now, to introduce my lovely assistant for today, please give a warm welcome to Obel!" As he said that, he dropped a card from his hand, falling down slightly before, to the children at least, transforming into Obel. In reality, he had swapped her position with that of the card he had on him through use of the one he had given her before, but it was all about what the kids saw.

Obel looked around in amazement, she had not expected Eli to be this good at magic or for her to be a part of the show. Her cheeks were still flaming from Eli's compliments but she played her part in the show by clapping along with the children. Obel had never been to shows like this and was very happy to be a part of one. She looked at the children with sparkling yellow eyes. Her childhood had been filled with misery and disappointment just like the kids before her. It was nice to be able to put a smile on their faces as she always wished someone would do for her when she felt down. She looked back up at Eli waiting for his next trick or order.
He seemed friendly which was something Obel always sought in a companion due to her own lack of friendliness. She hoped that they would get along well and do more jobs together. There was another round of applause interrupting Obels thoughts, she looked around to see what she had just missed.
