The sound of Shuhei's whistle echoed through the Canyon like a high pitched howl as he looked down in to the valley below. The wind gusted like an angry hand nudging you toward the edge, where Shuhei was calmly standing. He shaded his eyes with his hand, holding it against his brow widening his eyes as he peered over the edge. "Quite the long way down." He said under his breath. Shuhei bent over to get a better look at the base of the cliff, standing on his toes at the very edge, one fatal gust away from falling over. "The bottom doesn't seem very smooth either." He chuckled. The Mysterious Canyon was one of Shuhei's favorite playgrounds, the long channels that were once great rivers that intertwined like a labyrinth made for an outstanding training arena for speedy flyers. Although that had nothing to do with the reason for this particular visit. Shuhei swayed upward and took a step back from the edge while turning around. He looked off in to the distance, hoping that his guest would be arriving soon. The trouble with being the fastest man in Fiore meant that you often arrive far too early than you mean to.

Nikolai's feet trudged on an almost automated path for him at this point. The Mysterious Canyon was probably the safest, and most comforting, place he could training. The large open area and crags made great targets for him, as well as something sturdy to test his strength against. Besides, the terrain was very similar to his home, and as much as he tried to deny it, he was homesick. Being here relieved that a bit.
Spotting a figure in the distance, Nikolai had a pretty good idea who that was. It was rather shocking in the first place that he was called out here, let alone by him. Nikolai didn't think much of himself, so being called out by his guildmaster was definitely not something he had ever anticipated. Still, there was no way he could decline, so he was going to see what exactly Shuhei had in mind. Nikolai's mind was running a mile a minute as he walked, trying to think of anything he could have done to earn the master's wrath, because to Nikolai that was the only valid reason Shuhei would even take the time of day for him.
Nervous beyond believe, Nikolai stood a few feet away from Shuhei, avoiding direct eye contact. The wind was strong, and he did struggle slightly against it, but his footing was firm and he knew how to hold himself against it. Clearing his throat slightly, he took a deep breath to try and calm himself. His own nerves were killing him currently. "S-So, you w-wanted t-to see m-me, Master Sh-Shuhei." He had no idea why Shuhei had called him out to his training grounds, and personally that made the matter even more terrifying for him.
