King of Fighters! (Job)

Zen walked into the arena with a smile on his face and his scythe, The Reaper, in his hand. The arena was in an uproar for him and his partner on the job to begin the fighting and start the tournament of a lifetime. He really wanted to put on a spectacle for the crowd, and in the energy of the fight, he pointed dramatically at his opponent with an outstretched index finger and then pointed it downward while speaking the words, "You're going down!" It was like he had pushed a button to make the crowd roar with his words, because as soon as he said that, the entire crowd began chanting for them, it seemed like they were the favorites at this point, and he wouldn't disappoint.

But that's me getting ahead of myself. Upon completing the job known as "On Wings of Fire and Ice" in which they defeated one of the most powerful dragons in the land, Zenshin offered the Speed Demon Zack a place in his guild as his final ace and was told he would make a decision by the end of the month. A week following the events at the Royal Castle, Zen and Zack were approached by a man who offered them a place in the Sphere Island tournament of fighters known only as the "King of Fighters". They had gained quite a bit of fame for the stunt they pulled at the Royal Castle, so naturally they'd be invited to fight in one of the most challenging fighting tournaments.

Also, Zenshin had hoped to continue to impress Zack to sway his opinion into his favor, eventually ending with him joining the family of Sabertooth alongside his other sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, allies. The tournament was underground, and Zen had finally arrived at the Sphere Island, where it was taking place, greeted only by an old man who was waiting for the Speed Demon to appear as well. I wonder how long before Zack finally decides to show up. For a Speed Demon he sure hates being punctual the Saint thought as he crossed his arms and started tapping his foot.

To become the king of fighters. A worthy goal for anyone who prided themselves on their strength and skill in combat and after you'd taken down a gigantic dragon you pretty much had to pride yourself on it. It had been a week since then and in that time Zack and Devon had forged new weaponry, or upgraded old weaponry, and trained without hardly any rest to make themselves even more powerful fighters. Despite this Devon would not be competing in this tournament. She would merely be there to support. Instead Zack would be teaming up with the famous Zenshin of Sabertooth, the one who had helped slay the mighty dragon from beyond the skies of knowledge. A man who had offered him a place as one of the aces in his guild. A question he had not answered then, instead asking for time to decide. It had been one week, he had three more weeks to decide, but it seemed unlikely his answer would be no. However, there was a still a chance it might be.

As this was a tournament Zack decided to make his entrance a little bit more flashy than he normally would which was he was late. As Zenshin waited for his approach there was a loud roar, louder than that of the crowd. A roar most of them would be unfamiliar with. From one of the entrances a light was seen and then in a blur a motorized vehicle roared in. It was golden in colour and seemed to almost be a mixture of a wolf and dragon. Wings extended from it as it got near the edge and the vehicle turned roaring along the side of the arena. With a forceful kick the rider jumped off, but the cycle kept going. As he leapt he threw his helmet in the air revealing longish brown hair and a white eyepatch. He landed next to Zenshin and lifted his eyepatch. First the helmet went into it dissapearing as if to nothing and then suddenly as if with a life of its own the motorcycle launched itself at him, but it too was sucked into the eyepatch.

"Sorry i'm late, that took a little bit more preparation than I thought it would." he said with a grin as the roars of the crowd doubled, no tripled. Wait, no it was more than that. It was if they had ten times the volume. Yet Zack's next words went over them all. "We are the slayers of the golden dragon from beyond the skies of knowledge. Any who face us will fall. So BRING IT ON! Doors on the other side of the arena opened and a large magical projection appeared with a large face and next to it four pictures. A voice boomed as if over speakers.

"Round one will be Zack and Zenshin vs the Hayan Panther and Alucio. What a fight we have on our hands ladies and gentlmen." the voice shouted. Then from the doors emerged a figure clad in a red uniform and holding a rapier. Behind him first was seen feline eyes and then from the door bounded a huge panther like creature, but it was winged. It was at least 9ft high and about 23ft long. "FIGHT!"

"You're going down!" Zen said to then as the opponents arrived. A massive cat creature and a swordsman like himself, although Zenshin preferred pole arms. "I have a surprise for you Zack, my scythe has a nifty new transformation" he told his partner with a smirk before digging out the blade of the scythe from the ground and dashing at "Alucio" the rapier wielding man clad in red. With scythe in both hands, he stopped on a dime and brought the blade in front of him before making a motion upwards so that the left side of the blade that was now facing the sky would collide with the incoming rapier and parry it. Following this move, Zenshin would spin counter clockwise and take a step forward so that when it was over, the blade would be behind the back of the swordsman and they would be up close and personal. "Come on, you wouldn't be in this tournament if it was this easy to cut you" Zen said as he pulled back on his left arm, the blade of his scythe cutting right through Alucio.

The top half of his body fell to the ground before dispersing in a flash show of red colored magical energy before the bottom half followed suit. Alucio then whistled for him from his right side, causing the pole-arm wielder to turn his head and see the cocky swordsman smiling at him. "That's a pretty interesting magic. Too bad it won't do you much good" Zenshin said as he linkstepped on the boy's shoulder's while switching his hands on the shaft of his weapon as if the was carrying a two handed sword, except they were more spaced out. The blade was on his neck and Zenshin pulled up immediately, decapitating the boy and causing him to fall to the ground, dead. That's when the head and body disappeared like they'd done once before. I hope Zack is having better luck than me he thought while squinting his eyes and locking onto the annoying opponent would wouldn't just die.

magic:

It seemed Zenshin had chosen the human opponent for himself. A mage who posessed some sort of regeneration ability though Zack did not use his eye patch to check if this was so nor how strong his ally's opponent was. There was no point. That battle belonged to him and Alucio alone as the battle between the hayanpanther and Zack belonged to him and the feline alone. Zack drew not a weapon, though he normally favoured his swords. Nor did he use his magic. Nor did he use his eye patch. Instead he charged straight in, much as the beast did him. It leapt into the air aiming to pounce on him, but rather than dodge or defend he leapt at it. His jump took him above the beast and he seemed to spin in the air before fAsalling down to land on its head, head first. It was his trademark headbutt. A move he often attempted against giant beasts. Why he could not say. It was just something he favoured. The beast was dazed by the blow and Zack leapt off staring it down. It was large, very large. If it was not so big he would of attempted to wrestle it just for the spectacle. The crowd were already cheering at the fight and the announcer's words rung out over the battle.

"Twice has the wizard saint seemingly destroyed the brave Alucio, yet still he fights on undeterred and seemingly unscathed." he shouted. "Yet their battle is not the only one. Zack, another wizard saint, faces the hayanpanther and has seemingly subdued it with a headbutt from ABOVE it. It is rare to see someone match the hayanpanther in the air let alone exceed it." That gave Zack an idea and he stood there waiting. "And it seems the man is WAITING for his opponent to recover. What a noble gesture, yet perhaps foolish. We shall see." He was not waiting out of a sense of nobility, though he didn't like fighting something that couldn't defend itself. No he was waiting for another reason.

As the beast recovered it leapt at him aiming to slice at him, but he leapt into the air and then hovered there. "Let us see who is stronger of wing shall we?" he said and the beast snarled before spreading its mighty wings. Strange wings they were, not feathered, nor scaled. Nor did they appear to be leathery like a bats. They somehow looked furry as if it was a normal thing for a feline to have. It was strange, but true. It was skilled in the air. More skilled than Zack had initially thought. Still it was no match for Zack who almost seemed to dance in the air dodging each blow at the last second. It was the stronger of the two opponents, but unless it could hit Zack it stood no chance and luck did not seem to be on its side for now.

Zenshin listened as the announcer chronicled their actions exactly as they found, filling the arena with a sense of adrenaline and passion that only a fighting event like this could ever have. Alucio smiled as him and began to speak in a pompous, arrogant tone. "I dont care what they call you, Saint. I'm the best swordsman in the world, and no man using a glorified farming tool can ever defeat me, hohohohoho! Just give up already before you get hurt, amateur" he said, taunting Zenshin before dashing at him at a crazy speed, almost surpassing Zack's own. Zack, now's your chance. Eat that wind he just created, get stronger the thought came to Zen before he blocked the rapier with the narrow shaft of his own weapon. Jab after jab, a flurry of blows came his way as he kept backpedaling and blocking it with the nimble, quick movements with his weapon as Alucio got faster and faster until... *CLANG*

"Wh... what? No one's ever been able to even block my weapon when I'm using the flurry of a thousand blows! Cheater! What trickery are you using! No man can predict my movement while Im moving at that speed!" Alucio yelled as Zen held the tip of the rapier in his left hand that was covered by the newest addition to his arsenal, the left arm of ignorance. It was much like is right arm, except it was actually a gauntlet that spanned his entire arm and had properties of the shadow dragon as opposed to the fire dragon. "Haha. Let me show you that my title isn't just for show and why people revere the Wizard Saints to an extent" Zen said with a smirk while holding his scythe so the blade was behind Alucio's back so he couldn't back away. He quickly let go of the rapier followed by jabbing Alucio in the face with his left hand and sweeping the blade of his scythe so that the swordsman fell on his back. Knowing that he couldn't possibly be of equal or higher strength, Zen looked down at him and smiled. Terror washed over Alucio's body as the effect of the arm began to take hold of his mind while Zenshin increased the power of his scythe to its second stage. "Demon!" he cried while backing away. Demons? What a typical fear... but I can't say I blame him

magic:

The man below was fast as was the beast in the air, but Zack was faster than both and as of yet he had not shown his speed. He had not been idle in the time between the slaying of the dragon and coming here. He was dodging the feline of the sky with ease and grace, leaving each blow to the last second and striking as he dodged. It seemed he was playing with the beast, but it seemed to be getting great cheers from the audience. What they did not know was that in the air freedom of movement as well as speed would win the battle. The large beast could only turn and move as quickly as its wings allowed him. It could not rise and fall without effort. This was not true for Zack. As the sky demon slayer he was blessed by the winds. They gave him as much freedom in the air as he did on the ground. With little to no effort he could rise and fall, twist and turn. Heck, he could go upside down if he wanted to. What also they didn't know for few did except those Zack told himself was that fighting Zack barehanded, even when he was being gentle was dangerous.

With each strike against the beast a poison seeped into its body, decayed its muscles, its stamina, its strength. Zack was cursed and blessed. His blood was that of an Immortal. It gave him accelerated healing, but made him deadly to the touch. He had gained much control over it, but not full. He still rarely touched someone's bare skin. However, this beast he had. And slowly the poison was telling. It was getting slower and tireder. Suddenly, Zack flipped over as it charged and delivered a powerful blow to its head with the heel of his foot. So great was the force of the blow that it knocked the beast to the ground. Perhaps this was only true to the daze causing it to stop flapping its wings, but to all who watched it looked as if a human had just knocked down a giant with a single blow. Zack landed upon the back of the beast and held on tight.

"First he knocks it to the ground and now he uses it as a seat what game is this wizard saint playing?" the announcer shouted and Zack grinned.

"Only my own." he shouted as the Hayanpanther rose up and tried to buck him off, but his grip was tight. He would not beat this beast through force of strength. He would subdue it and let it go to bed, tired, ill, but alive. Perhaps in the future kindness such as this would leave him, but for now he did not kill unless he had to and lately he felt he had spilled far too much blood.

"It's over Alucio!" he yelled to get the crowd cheering before raising his scythe above his head and swinging it down so that the top of the blade would leave a large gash on the rapier using man's chest in a vertical shape. Alucio tried his best to back up and block his scythe, but he could only do so much from such a vulnerable position whilst the moon shaped blade came down on him and cut through his rapier. A smile came across Zenshin's face as he had just won his first battle of the tournament and his opponent lay defeated and bleeding over the once white stone floor of the arena. =Flashback= "Due to liability issues, a special kind of field has been put on the arena so that even if you inflict the most severe of wounds, your opponent can't really die. In the worst case they'll just go unconscious and be healed after they, and any severed limbs, have been recovered after the round ends. Go nuts." the host of the tournament told them, giving them the green light to go all out if they want, as they wouldn't really be killing anyone.

Zenshin nodded to him with a grin before taking his position in the arena and waiting for Zack who still hadn't arrived yet. I should probably tell him... he thought before another ten minutes passed and Zack arrived. But I never did tell him, whoops. =Flashback End= He looked over to his left where Zack was still battling with what appeared to be a Hayanpanther. Where on Earth did they get these creatures from? You can only find Hayanpanthers in the deepest forests of Seven. I guess the organizer spared no expense to put on a spectacle he thought while watching his partner fight the beast with as much prowess as it fought him.

The battle with Alucio was over, but the battle with the Hayanpanther was not yet. It was meant to be the more powerful of the two opponents afterall and so far Zack hadn't really done anything to try and defeat it or kill it. He was now riding on its back as it bucked and tried to throw him off, but to no avail. It spread its wings and took to the sky and that was Zack made a move he seemed to rise up performing a hand stand, whilst still grabbing hold of the Hayanpanther. He then propelled himself off and flipped down striking with both feet against the Hayanpanther's already hurting head. The damage was added to by the fact that the hayanpanther was rising up to meet it. The beast roared out in agony and Zack leapt off it to face the beast. It growled at him, but there was less energy in the growl. It seemed his poison had finally begun to take its proper effect. It swept at him with one of its paws, but he flew back narrowly dodging it and then lunged forward kicking the paw straight into the beast's own face. It roared out in agony as the claws swiped across its face and it feel from the sky.

Zack nodded and then rose up a bit before dropped down like a stone against its head hitting it with enough force that combined with the previous blows earlier it was knocked unconcious. "This battle is over." Zack shouted above the roar of the excited crowd. He looked over at Zenshin and winked. "BRING ON THE NEXT OPPONENTS!"

"It seems those opponents were no match for wizard saints." the annnouncer shouted out as both hayanpanther and alucio were teleported from the battle field. "So we going to bring out two of our tier 3 opponents, master martial artists from distant realms."

"We welcome to the arena Furinji Saiga and his brother Furinji Taiga. The unstoppable twin shadow fists." he shouted and the arena gates opened and from them walked two blonde men in suits. Each of them wore red metallic gauntlets on their hands and both of them exuded a powerful aura of strength. "FIGHT!" Zack noted with his eyepatch that both were SS class in terms of physical prowess and in terms of magic as well. Powerful opponents. Their magic he wasn't 100% sure of it. If anything he guessed it was a physical based magic focusing magic power into blows like the legendary Bacchus, but there was definitely some sort of element there. It was just far too mixed for him to be able to tell exactly.




(As both rolled a 1 i'm making these twins, which seems fair enough particularly for this fighter.)

"So we going to bring out two of our tier 3 opponents, master martial artists from distant realms. We welcome to the arena Furinji Saiga and his brother Furinji Taiga. The unstoppable twin shadow fists." the announcer cried out as two twin brothers entered the stage. "Unstoppable eh? Well we'll have to do something abo-" he began, but the second he blinked, Saiga was right next to him with his fist right in front of his face. With a smile, Zenshin leaned his head forward and cast his spell 'Objection' which did something that the twin would find very interesting. His attacked was stopped inches from Zen's face and he was incapable of pulling it back, it was stuck in place by a small blue plate of mana that had latched onto him. With an outstretched left hand, Zen put the top of his fist to the enemy's chest (top of his fist if he was holding it vertically) as if he was holding a sword and lo and behold, one formed, stabbing Saiga right through his solar plexus before he was finally able to back out.

The thing is, though, he couldn't immediately cast any magic. He didn't know it but there was an invisible field that prevented him from doing so, which sounds very powerful, but the spell itself was quite situational. He had Aegis in mind when he developed it, as well as any other melee user, but he never believed that it would be useful in this kind of situation. The other brother then took charge and snapped his fingers, causing a booming noise over Zen to which he instinctively looked up to see was nothing more than a burst of dark magic. Before he could look back down, he felt a sharp pain in his stomach, and when he did, he saw the other twin's foot lodged in it. Everything felt as though it was going in slow motion before Zen went zooming back into the wall behind him, sending dust and debris everywhere before dislodging himself from the Zen-shaped hole in the wall. "Fine? You want to play rough" he began, transforming his scythe into The Chance, the penultimate form, "We'll play rough"

Both of the twins apparently decided to attack Zenshin and try to defeat him first. Perhaps because in the first battle Zack hadn't done much except dodge and do a few clever blows. So of course Zenshin seemed like the bigger thread. Zack cracked his knuckles and descended to the ground looking at the two men who were still both engaged by Zenshin. "Perhaps its time to let loose a little." he said and then suddenly he lunged forward catching Taiga off guard sending him flying into a wall. "Did you forget about me?" Strangely, as the man hit the wall he flew into it and struck behind Zack.

"No...I just don't attack people who are no threat to my brother and I." he said dusting himself off. It seemed he had used the momentum from Zack's blow against him. That was an oddity because normally it was Zack who specialised in momentum based attacks. "But if you wish to force my hand than I suppose I can play for a while. Its not like I could kill you here anyway." Ah, so that's what it was. That's why Zenshin had been willing to go so all out against human opponents. It was impossible to kill people here due to some magic that in place.

"Well, if that's the case...I suppose I really can cut loose." Zack replied and lunged forward. The man sunk into his shadow dodging the blow entirely. So this man was a possessor of a shadow step technique. It seemed akin to his Sky King's Doorway, but more free to use. The man wasn't a slayer. No he was a possessor of darkness or shadow magic. Not what Zack had expected based on his initial reading. Perhaps it was a secondary magic that he favoured or maybe he focused darkness magic into physical enhancements. Perhaps that was why his magic seemed so physical to his eyepatch. Or perhaps....they had fooled his eyepatch somehow. That would be very interesting.

While Zack took care of Taiga, Zenshin rushed forward at Saiga who was still incapable of using his magic due to Objection. That wouldn't last much longer though, so he had to strike -now-. When he got close, he jumped up into the air and did a front flip to increase the downward force of the blow, but when the blade of the ax-scythe was about to slice the magic-less twin's head in two, his brother came out of a shadow "portal" in the ground and clapped his hands together while arching his back and stopping Zen's blade inches from his face. "Wow, I don't think anyone's ever caught my ax before, good on you. But it's going to take a lot more than that to -really- stop it" he said with a grin as Taiga's knees began to buckle under the immense weight of The Chance. Though to Zenshin it weighed about as much as a regular scythe, to everyone else it weighed a few tons, so catching it was like catching a truck, and holding it was very similar.

Even when enhancing his own strength through magic, he couldn't keep this up forever, and he knew it. In a split second, the martial artist let go and Zen came down like an anchor, slicing his chest on the way down and leaving a wound that would leave a permanent scar before the man jumped back with his brother. "How overprotective of you. I doubt you came into this tournament thinking you and your brother would never be hurt, that's foolish. If I were you, I'd worry about my partner. Although Im sure I can take both of you on, this is a dual effort, not just me" he said, talking about Zack before Saiga pretty much lost it. "You arrogant bastard! All of our years of training and you even THINK you're BETTER THAN WE ARE JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE A FANCY TITLE?! I'LL BEAT YOU INTO OBLIVION!" he roared before strafing around his wounded brother and rushing Zen with a flurry of blows. Good, he's getting reckless. I should try my best to avoid his next hits though, getting him mad makes him sloppy, but stronger than he'd normally be

Once more Zack had been left to his own devices and whilst normally he would perhaps have not taken this too badly in this case he felt insulted. Twice now these two had focused purely on Zenshin. What was he? Something nasty to be overlooked? They had pushed him too far. He flew at Saiga hitting him hard. He had been distracted with his many blows against Zenshin and his anger had also made him careless. As Zack had flown as his opponent he had activated four spells. Three of them granted him an aura. One was green, one red and one yellow. The green granted him speed, the red strength and the yellow gave him a rather interesting ability. The fourth spell was a very peculiar spell that reduced the effect of air resistance against him by a huge amount. All in all he was now incredibly fast and incredibly powerful. Not that he wasn't before of course. He had been planning to hold these off for later, but it was time to show why he was a wizard saint and why they should not underestimate him.

"Sky King's Fury." he said on the moment of the blow. It was what he had named this combination of abilities. With a few others it would become Sky King's wrath, but he had no need for extra endurance or some of the other abilities he could provide himself. As he hit the man the yellow aura took effect against him temporarily reducing his weight by 20%. Thus the man was sent flying as if he'd been hit by a truck. As Zack expected the man went into a shadow, but this time when he came out Zack dodged out of the way and then backflipped kicking the man up into the air. He flew up like an arrow and hit the man up again. He would juggle this opponent keeping them unable to move.

Taiga gasped from the ground and threw a fist of shadows, but Zack dodged it and the fist hit the very dazed brother even higher into the air. Zack grinned and gave a mock salute. Eventually, feeling that the man was dazed enough Zack grabbed him and began to fly towards the ground at high speed. WHen he got to a certain distance he let go, this time increasing the man's weight first back to normal and then to 20% above what it was so when he hit the ground he hit it HARD. Zack landed and looked at Taiga.

"Well Taiga. Am I a threat to you now?" he said the aura's pulsing round him. The injured man roared out and formed a pair of gloves on his hands and lunged at Zack aiming to punch him hard. "Seems so." Zack adjusted his position and caught the fist's dead on increasing his own weight and decreasing Taigas as he did so. "I don't care for titles...they are something others gave me. My skill though is something I earned and I will not have it mocked." The man struggled to free himself off Zack's grip and eventually succeeded leaping back. His lighter weight made him jump further, but the sudden restoration to his normal weight then caused him to stumble a bit. "I wanted to fight you with skill, but you forced my hand and made me use magic." Zack suddenly ducked down and spun in a sweep kick.

"Attacking me whilst i'm distracted with your brother. Nice tactic." Zack said as he took the legs out from Saiga. He was quite surprised at the level of endurance the man possessed. The blows would of killed a lesser man, if it was possible to die here that is.

Magic:

While Zack took care of Saiga, Zen rushed at Taiga who had been weakened by the sky demon's assault. "Hey Zack, I think it's time I showed you that surprise I mentioned earlier. I think you're gonna like this one" he said with a devilish grin on his face "Recreation. The Sentence" he said before a shock wave bursted from him in all directions as his scythe changed its form one last time. It began to glow in a blinding white light before re-emerging from its metamorphosis as a sword instead of a scythe, a sword he called guilt. Zen used this whenever he wanted to be the strongest he could be without resorting to his other S-Ranked spells which inflicted a good amount of damage to himself when used. This way, he could be *that* strong and still retain his vitality.

"I think I'm as fast as you now. Haha! Probably not, but I'm as quick as I need to be" he said before disappearing and reappearing in front of Taiga, who was so stunned that he literally *jumped* back and almost stumbled onto his rear. Zen brought up his sword high and readied one final blow before Taiga used the last of his stamina and power to move quick like a shadow and punch Zenshin in a flurry of blows to the stomach that took just a second, but ended up with him taking fifty punches directly to his body. "You sneaky bastard. I shouldn't have shown an opening..." he began while wheeling back. "But you still underestimate my durability" he said before taking one large step forward and bringing his sword down onto Taiga's left shoulder, cutting it cleanly from his body and causing him to let out a shriek of pain before going into shock. He fell backwards and Zen fell to his knee, using is sword to support him. End this Zack

The transformation into the sword was quite an interesting one. It was a powerful weapon and Zenshin's claim that he might be now as fast as Zack was an interesting statement even if he almost immediately took it back. Still, he doubted even Zenshin quite understood the full extent of Zack speed. He wasn't even sure he did yet. He could make his air resistance effectively zero and thus he could essentially acheive almost infinite acceleration. It was possible now that he might be able to even outclass Shuhei though it would be a close thing. Zenshin had taken out the older brother with his new sword yet it seemed the man had gotten some heavy blows in as Zen was on his knees only holding himself up by his sword. It was time to end this it seemed.

The momentary distraction that Zen's battle had provided was enough for Saiga to strike Zack from behind with a powerful blow. Yet Zack barely moved. He had increased his weight by 20% making him a lot harder to move. The blow hurt like hell as did the rapid series that followed. He took a deep breath and then spun round catching a blow with his fist. The man swung again with his other hand and Zack caught that too. "Its been fun. Next time don't underestimate your opponents." With that he launched a powerful headbutt that sent the man flying backwards. Yet before he hit the wall and dissapeared Zack lunged forward and backflipped near the man sending him flying into the air. Zack flew up once more. His eyepatch flipped open and from it came a sword that was green in colour. It was his second strongest sword. The sword of the north wind. He flew like a spear at the man and impaled him upon the blade before descending with the man held over his head like some macabre trophy.

It was at that point that both of the downed opponents dissapeared.

"AND THAT ENDS ROUND TWO. The two wizard saints have successfully downed the mighty twin shadow fists." the announcer shouted. "They both took quite a beating, but both still look ready for more. Let's begin ROUND THREE!

Magic:

Round three opened up with an elephant, bird, hybrid, thing and a woman clad in full plate armor who had a spear in hand. Zen didn't care much for the girl, but the elephavian, it was magnificent and had to fall by his hand alone. "Zack, let me have this monstrosity" he said as he slowly stood up from his kneeling position. It towered over him like a four story building who had houses for hands and a trunk comparable to a telephone pole. The first thing it tried to do was step on him with its colossal feet, but with this sword of his, Guilt, he was too fast for such an attack to actually connect. Zenshin easily evaded the attack with a sidestep and cocked his harm back.

Then, with all his might, Zen threw the sword straight at the demon's face; he aimed to nail it right in the forehead. Unfortunately, the telephone pole of a tree trunk managed to wrap around Guilt and stop it from advancing, causing a shock wave to be sent out in all directions, as it just essentially stopped a truck of a weapon from moving at a hundred thousand miles an hour to zero. I could be exaggerating that number a bit, but this is my story, I'm allowed to do that. Without even flinching, that elephant-bird raised its wrapped trunk and flung his weapon right back at him, causing Zen to quickly hold his palm open and stop the sword inches from his abdomen and cause it to float back into his hand. That was close... Times like these where I'm glad I specialize in force and energy he thought with a relieved sigh. "You're definitely a tough one, behemoth. But I'm going to be the one to take. You! Down!" he yelled, making sure the creature, as well as the crowd, heard his words. This sparked yet another surge of excitement in the crowd as they began to chant for blood.

Zack was going to take on the beast himself, giant beasts were his specialty after all, but when Zenshin claimed it he just shrugged and turned to face his opponent. An armored woman wielding a spear. It was almost as if he was facing Devon. It was then that from out of his pocket came the green glowing orb that was Devon. She quickly grew in side till she was 5ft6 a spear in hand. She looked at Zack who had raised an eyebrow "I know you don't like fighting women...and i've been itching to see the results of my training. You mind?" she said and Zack shook his head and shouted out above the audience.

"It seems my ally Devon wishes to fight against this spear wielder and who am I to deny her?" he shouted. "After all, who doesn't love a cat fight." he added with a roguish wink that caused cheers and wolf whistles to be heard. Devon glared at him and he shrugged mouthing 'all for the show. This is a tournament remember'. With that he dispelled all his auras and went and sat over by the side to watch the two battles. He was interested to see what tricks Devon would pull. She had the seven virtues spear after all.

Devon looked at her opponent and spun her spear round assuming an offensive stance before lunging forward with the spear the ready. As she got close her opponent prepared a defense, but Devon seemed to fly upwards suddenly catching the opponent off guard. She was good though and dodged. The armor was thick, but not thick enough to stop the spear entirely and it sliced into it. Devon leapt back her green fairy wings visible. "So it is you" the woman mused and from her own back formed scarlet wings. Devon paused briefly. "It has been a while....princess." The woman said removing her helmet to reveal brilliant silver hair and a facial structure similar to Devon's.

"Houka?" she said increduously.

Magic:

It seemed like Devon was fighting the mysterious woman fighter instead of Zack, so even he'll turn down a challenge if the challenger is a woman. How very noble, but he should know that females make excellent fighters. Very nimble and determined, more so than a lot of men I've fought. I wonder why he doesn't want to fight her he thought as the colossal cross between an elephant and a dinosaur raised its giant foot and attempted to crush Zenshin. When he finally realized that there was a large, circular shadow around him, it was already too late to jump or dash out of the way. A circumference of about... ten meters... this thing has a rather large foot he thought while estimating the difference between him and the edge of the shadow before raising Guilt up and waiting for the foot to finally reach him.

The sword pierced through the leather skin of the creature before it trumpeted loudly and immediately pulled its foots back, taking him and his sword with it. While it brought its leg up to the highest point, Zen swung forward and planted his feet on the bottom of the colossus' leg so that he was upside down before pushing off, causing him and his sword to detach from the mammal and a spout of grey blood to cover his lower half. Zenshin re-positioned himself in mid air so that he would land on his feet, and once he did, he would hop back a few times so that he was at a good enough distance from his enemy. Although he was a little dizzy, he was relatively unscathed. All of that fancy maneuvering and all I really managed to do was give that thing a little poke on its foot.... It's times like these where I wish I knew the anatomy of things other than people and dragons

Zack watched with interest. It wasn't that he didn't want to fight the woman. He preferred not to unless his hand was forced or it was pure sparring. It was Devon who had volunteered to fight this opponent and it seemed it was fate of some kind. The opponent was a Malkariss demon fairy, and one that knew Devon. It wasn't one he recognised from his times there and considering he was a hero of their people he was quite surprised. He had thought he had met them all. Perhaps she had not been present there. It wasn't surprising that they knew Devon. She was one of the nobles of her race after all. Though even he didn't know the full truth of what she was to her people.


"I've always wanted to test my skills against members of your family Devon." the fairy known as Houka replied and with a strange motion her spear somehow became a large axe and she lunged forward to strike at Devon with some weird underhand strike. Devon raised her spear in defense, but the force of the blow was so great it sent her flying backwards and she hit one of the walls hard. The silver haired fairy shook her head. "Is that all you have Princess? I'm dissapointed"

Devon lunged forward. She had been tempted to use her spear's second best form, but decided instead to boost her power. "Diligence." she said and her spear transformed. It was now a long brown handle with a demonic looking blade at one end and a demonic looking spike at the other. A faint magic aura surrounded her and her power was not boosted by 40%. This time when the two collided it was Houka that was forced back instead. She wasn't sent flying as far, but now it seemed their power was a lot closer. It was likely Devon had the edge.

"It seems that you have a few tricks up your sleeve, but so do I." she said and her axe began to glow with red energy.
