It has been known to knock down small heavy armored vehicles like a wrecking ball and keep going.

Re: Thrills of the hunt
Yasei Raion, the most newest addition to the ranks of Savage Skull. A mage who was more beast then man. And it was time for Frederick to see what he was capable off.
Sure he had seen the mayhem he had caused when he entered the guild hall, but still he hadn't seen him in action personally. And if he had to believe his men then Yasei was a true savage.
Something that he would like to see in person indeed.
As he walked down the stairs his footsteps resounded through empty staircase, which was odd. Because Frederick always was shrouded in the darkness of the guild. That made him look like as if he was floating a few inches from the ground.
Once down in the main hall he could see the remnants of the guilds former glory. The once so proud numbers of soldiers that hailed the guilds name were now diminished to a small group. The spoils of war and raiding were gone, and they accepted now every possible job they could get. But the guilds strength wasn't in numbers any more. No they were now with a few mages, but they were stronger then before.
Frederick signaled the nearest soldier to approach him. The man slowly nodded at him and walked up to him slowly. Uncertain of what his master wants from him.
Without even bending his head towards the man Frederick started to speak. His cold and monotone voice piercing through the man as a winters breeze.
'Find me Yasei and tell him that I have a job for him. One that suits his talents'

Re: Thrills of the hunt
I've become so numb, But as he looked through the window, Yasei was sad. He had always felt empty and killing simply made him forget. Being a lone wolf is difficult and as he starred at the outside world, specifically at the moon. He whispered to himself and looked down. With thoughts only known to himself, he looked up as he sensed someone was approaching him. A soldier came to him with orders that Fred wanted to see him. Yasei raised a brow as he wondered why did he ask for him. Yasei made it perfectly clear that his isn't someone they can order around. However, he was curious as to what he wanted so Yasei stood up and approached the cloaked man. As he walked he made no sound and made assumptions as to what he wanted. Fred is a reasonable man enough to consider that he isn't like the rest of his so called "Minions". For now, the reasonable purpose for summoning him was to test his mettle. Frying hapless mortals isn't really a test of power but a show that you like to kill, and that you're merciless at it. When he was in front of the guild's Master he asked in annoyance. 'As abrupt as ever I see, well then Yasei. I want to see what you are capable of in person.'
Frederick observed the mage that now stood before him, unlike other mages this one was bit different. Being covered in a fur with a vibe of a predator. He was indeed more beast then he was a man. But there was no doubt that Yasei truly belonged here among the savages, but still seeing as he was a beast as well then he would crave the outside world. Running free as a creature at the top of the food chain.
'And I have found the perfect job for that, how do you feel about going on a hunt.'
Frederick continued with his usual voice, cold and emotionless. Depraved of all joy, there was no single fluctuation in it.
'Even though it doesn't really become a dark mage, we are going to retrieve ourselves a lion cub. It is somewhere lost in the serene cliffs so your expertise in tracking are needed. And if that displeases you, you can shred everything else we come upon.'
'Now come, our client awaits us'
With out even considering if Yasei would follow him Frederick walked towards the door. Not because he was arrogant or that he thought he was better then his fellow dark mage. It was just something he was used to by now.

Re: Thrills of the hunt
I've become so numb, No matter the case, Yasei and Fred were headed to meet their client. However, he can't see the client like this. Shirtless, tattered pants, and simply furry on his sides. So he quickly went up to the room they provided and put on a violet fit shirt and new black jeans. Then he jumped out through the window and caught up with Fred. Yasei didn't even break a sweat nor did he pant. He walked behind him as if he was there all along. The night was dark and still but the the sounds of the wild got Yasei excited. Finally, he'll be able to track down something again. But this time, he mustn't kill it. Which made him sad at first. A precious cub like that is a delicacy for this rabid hunter. However, Fred was nice enough to compensate him with giving the freedom to kill anything - which will be everything, they come across with during their little exercise together. It made him glad inside which made him grin evilly... but happy... credit :: template by KONYA☆ I can't feel you there. |

Re: Thrills of the hunt
Upon meeting their client they quickly came to understand that he was a rather eccentric person. The man was wearing a top hat with a red tuxedo, a white pants and black riding boots. And to finish his entire attire the man had the most curled up mustache that Frederick ever saw. He didn't even wait a second when he caught eye of Frederick and Yasei approaching him. And quickly walked towards them while greeting them.
'Oh my! You two look fierce some. And that is splendid off course. Because now I know for sure that you will bring back my lion cub!. He is the future of our circus after all. Without him we won't have a successor to our main act'
'I am certain that we will succeed, and bring back your wretched pup. After all the man next to me is an excellent tracker.'
The client froze up a bit when he heard the cold voice from Frederick. And then he realized that his job didn't attract the mages he was hoping for. From the heroic tales he always heard of he didn't got the hero's. No instead he was being rewarded with the villains of such a story.
'Well.. if that is... the case. Then I will await your return' cowered the man
Without any further commentary Frederick tilted his head till he looked at the other dark mage Yasei.
They were solely going to rely on his skills now.
'Then lead the way, Yasei.'

Re: Thrills of the hunt
I've become so numb, A smile crept on Yasie's face when Fred finally broke it down with the circus man. All that hope crushed and letting fear take over. Fred also assured him that the cub will be found because of Yasei. But when he was called, he didn't move a bit. He still looked terrifying. But with that out of the way, they proceeded to the area to find the cub with Yasei at the lead. The area wasn't too thick with plants and vegetation. There was a lake nearby that produced quite a soothing ambiance. Furthermore, the water makes the soil soft, which makes it easier to leave prints all over the place. He went down in all fours and examined the tracks carefully. Furthermore his nose is trying to pick up the cub's scent. He looked closely at the ground, touching it, to get a better feel. It was cold and soft. Twigs that were flat at some points were scattered around and pebbles that were driven to the ground. Yasei nodded, the track is about 10 hours old. And further inspection made him see pieces of cub fur. He stood up and sniffed the fur. "It's far, but not that far. Come on it's this way. I'd wager I can fend for itself for at least 2 days from now. The size of the paws suggest that this isn't such a small cub as the word leads us to believe." Yasei then followed the tracks, moving slowly, looking at the ground, assessing if the trail he is picking up is the right one. credit :: template by KONYA☆ I can't feel you there. |

Re: Thrills of the hunt
Off course it was not just a small cub, it never was. As with most clients, they tended to leave out some rather specific details so now and then. It was almost worrisome how many times this sort of situations happened.
'So we are dealing with a full grown lion then. I guess we need to have a serious talk with our client when we returned. Because I don't particular like being played'
As Frederick followed Yasei through the landscape, he could see why this area was called the Serene Cliff. The vast landscape had flourished. Flowers and other colorful vegetation had sprouted from the earth. Giving it a peaceful feeling.
Well that was if you preferred this kind of surroundings, and Frederick didn't. Not because he was a dark mage who aligned himself with the emptiness that resided in the darkness. But because of his past, flowers like this always reminded him of her.
The progressed some more through the lustful area, and it became quite dull. Until a shadow took away the sunlight that fell upon Frederick and his companion. And as Frederick turned towards it's source he saw five bird like creatures, each of them as big as a cart. But that was not the source that casted the shadow upon them. No among those five birds. There was one that was even bigger. And would probably be harder to deal with.
'Tch Raptors... strange. You don't see them this far away from the mountain range'

Re: Thrills of the hunt
Yasei crept in the foliage, doing his best not to loose track of the cub's scent. The only thing that could lead them to their target. But as they ventured on, the vegetation grew thicker and more livelier. However, unlike Fred, Yasei liked it. It reminded him so much of the wild and free days. The old sensation of thrill and adventure came back. Though it wasn't evident in this kind of place, some beats or those that are like one, know how to find it.
Continuing on all fours tracking down the pesky little trouble-making feline creature, something came down upon them, standing tall. A beast of the old world has strangely appeared for god knows what reason. Scaly but with wings, the beings generally referred to as raptors did not pose to be threat or anything similar to Yasei. They instead looked like game. Even the bigger one that appeared to be their leader. As he saw all this, he stood up and tilted his head left then at the right, getting his neck stretched along with his other muscles as he swung his arms around to get ready. He looked at the creatures snarling. And in an instant charged to one of them with great speed tackling it down to the ground and shredding it with his claws, making blood and scale scatter and splatter to the left and right. When he was done, two more charged at him. But he raised his hands and as he did, a pillar of hellish flames erupted from the raptors stood, scorching them. The rest came too close but Yasei had just about enough time to pounce back to Fred's side. "Your turn I guess."

Re: Thrills of the hunt
Frederick glared at the corpse that now laid before them, a mutilated body that was being shred to pieces by a brutal and raw strength. It's blood was seeping out of the huge gaping wounds and started to form a puddle beneath it.
'Hmm I guess it is huh' replied Frederick eventually, with his usual cold voice. Suddenly Frederick's own aura became visible and gained a black impenetrable color. It would like some sort of black mist, that started to surround him and attach itself to the hooded mage's body. Then out of nowhere ten featureless black tentacles rushed out of the darkness. As if they were extension from Frederick itself.
Only to aim for the Raptors that were descending upon them from the sky.
Squeaks, animals crying out for help were to be heard the moment the tentacles wrapped themselves around four of the reptilian like creatures. And eventually brought them down to the ground. There some of the tentacles would release their grasp and hover over them for a few seconds, only so that they could strike at them once again. With great velocity they would phase through the creatures body and nail them to the earth themselves.
That same moment the raptors shrieks started to fade away, just as when Frederick started to drain their very essence of life itselfs. This was one of his signature moves, in matter of fact most of his magic was like this. A dark force that had the ability to drain any living thing of it's life force.

Re: Thrills of the hunt
Yasei watched as the life from the creatures got sucked out just like that. And he found it disgusting as he grunted at the sight. He really wasn't the one for boring killing such as the one he is witnessing right in front of him. The kind of killing where you just stand and let boring magic take care of the rest. It was boring, and disgusting and so he looked away and waited for Fred to finish his work. But unlike the other times, he was able to wait for long. Simply because the screams of agony of the raptors entertained him while he was waiting.
Nearly a minute passed until finally he heard nothing. And so the wolf-man turned back and found no trace of the raptors. As if they weren't there in the first place. That placed a frown on Yasei's face. Because once again. It's boring. Because he always wanted to leave mutilated remains behind. It's kind of an art form for him. But he thought it can't be helped. Because most dark mages would like not to leave any mark behind, and he kind of got used to it. "Well... So much for a pit stop. Let's keep moving." he coldly said as he went back to walk on fours and sniff out the lion cub. However, there's a problem. The scent is getting faint. It getting farther away from them... They need to hurry.

Re: Thrills of the hunt
Yasei's grunting, showed that he was displeased at how Frederick handled the remaining raptors. Which Frederick didn't found so surprising, after all. Yasei never hid the fact that he'd preferred carnage and bloodshed far above that then the refined use of magic as Frederick's.
It showed that the two mages were worlds apart, Yasei with his bloodlust and carnage and Frederick with his silent darkness.
Eventually the raptors were drained of all they had to offer and Frederick retracted the black featureless tentacles back from the now lifeless bodies. They'd vastly slithered back over the ground, or just in one fell swoop through the air, until they'd reached the darkness around Frederick again that quickly withdrew itself under the man's cloak.
Now that Frederick was done, Yasei started to mention they'd better carried on with their mission. After all these beasts were nothing more then what Yasei said they were. A mere pitstop that was barely entertaining enough for two dark mages of their caliber.
Frederick turned around towards Yasei who was again standing on his arm and legs, head was faced towards the ground where he was trying to sniff out any scent their target had left behind. If someone could track this creature then it was Yasei, since it seems that his nose was unparalleled. It even made Frederick slightly wonder if Yasei's ability of perceiving odors and scents was more powerful then that of a slayer
'Well then lead the way..'

Re: Thrills of the hunt
Fred only told Yasei to lead the way as response to the comment that they should get moving quicker than before. The man was becoming more irritating and weird for the likes of him. Or is because Yasei always saw people to be more energetic compared to his companion? It would seem so since Yasei had always been around that kind of people. It was actually the first time he saw a person who's good as dead. Some rumors he heard inside the guild would even suggest that Fred IS dead and that the person overseeing them is something else... They didn't know exactly to which point he would behead them for stirring up things like that. Yasei hated clinging stories like that. Either way Yasei secretly made a note to himself that he should go see who or what Frederick really is.
But as they track down the little beast, the tracks are starting to become erratic and stopped making sense. Prints, and even some of the cub's fur would be scattered around and around instead of a straight path, but the lingering scent was strong. Yasei raised his head only to find themselves in a entrance to a forest. But what was really alarming were the scratch marks on the trunk of the trees. Yasei didn't like this, and he started to walk-like a man this time- and investigate the area. Among the things he saw were tracks of bigger creatures, running around in circles. Yasei was afraid that the cub might have been hunted down by bigger creatures. So he sniffed the air out for blood. Luckily it there wasn't any. But he couldn't make out where the tracks go. As much as it would hurt his pride, Yasei had no choice but to say "I lost the tracks, they're all going round and round here. Don't worry, it's still alive. But think you can help me out?"
