Chaos and Mercenaries (Social: Yoko and Almyra)

A fairly busy and productive day in Oak Town was painted with many people moving around in the streets. The redhead known as Yoko was one of these people, as she moved through the crowd with reckless abandon and tried to find the person she was looking for. A letter was held in her hand, which is why she was irritated that people kept bumping into her shoulder. If she dropped this she didn’t get paid, and the worst feeling in the world to her was not getting paid. It was a letter to someone, but she really didn’t care much about them at all. What she did care about was the money she would get paid for this job, which was a bit more than one would assume for a simple delivery job. However, the only information she got on the recipient is that they would find her as soon as the time was right. Which was frustrating as she didn’t know when the time was right.

Yoko walked until she found a small restaurant, with an outside area. Sitting down in one of the chairs and pulling her goggles over her face, Yoko feigned sleep while waiting to see if anyone would come for the letter in her hand.

Almyra looked at the large loaf of bread the nice lady had given her, then hugged her tightly. "Thank you!" The woman patted her on the head and bid her farewell. Almyra smiled down at the loaf, then brought it up to her nose and smelled it. She never had the money to buy food really. Some people would offer her charity like this occasionally though. Other times she would scrounge it up from the waste at some restaurants (they really did throw out a lot that was perfectly good to eat) or hunt for something in the wild. Whenever someone gave her food or money to buy it, it was always a great treat. She decided that she would have some soon, when she found a comfy spot to sit down and eat. Looking around, she spotted a restaurant with a sitting area outside and walked over. There weren't many people out there. A few couples dining together and one girl who was sleeping in her chair. Deciding not to disturb the couples, she sat at a table near the sleeping girl and tore off a piece of the bread. It was still warm from the bakery the nice lady had bought it from. She took a bite, savoring in the wonderful flavor of the fresh bread.

As Yoko pretended to be asleep, she was correct in her assumption that someone would come to sit at the same table as her. However, her eyebrow twitched slightly at noticing that the person was a bit more cute and innocent looking than she wanted to have this client be. Thankfully it was a female, but the girl seemed to be more interested in the piece of bread rather than Yoko herself. As the blacked haired girl continued to eat, the mercenary would slowly lift herself up from her sleeping position into one of a person that was clearly awake, and lift her goggles up off of her eyes. The redhead would then clear her throat and wave the letter at the girl in front of her, wondering if she was the recipient of the letter.

“Yo. Miss, are you here for a letter?” Yoko questioned fairly bluntly, not wanting to waste any time goofing off. “I got paid a lot to bring this here, so I hope you are.” One thing about Yoko, she was always about getting the mission right. If she screwed up, then she would be in trouble and have to give the jewels back. And she’s a greedy person, so you can tell how that might affect her a bit.

Almyra noticed that the girl near her had shifted, sitting up. Either she had only been pretending to sleep, or had just woken up. She gave her a friendly smile. Suddenly she was waving a letter in her face. She shook her head in response to the girl's question. "Nope. I'm just here to have some bread a nice lady gave to me. Sorry." The girl had been hoping she was the one looking to receive a letter, and Almy was not the one who she was looking for. Still, she decided she would be nice to the girl. She broke off a piece of the loaf and held it out to Yoko. "Would you like some?" Almy wouldn't mind if she didn't take the bread, and just eat the piece if she declined.

Yoko groaned and slammed her head against the table, waving the girl off. “No thanks, I think I might cry though.” It was an exaggeration, but it showcased the frustration she had at the moment. Her job was so simple, and yet it was taking forever to actually get it done. After a few seconds of self-pity, Yoko raised her head and looked at the girl in front of her. “Uh, why are you only eating bread? Don’t ya have the money for something a little more…...grand?” It was blunt, but that was just Yoko’s style. She didn’t mess around with these things and definitely didn’t beat around the bush about anything. She sat up and focused her attention on the girl in front of her, folding her arms and laying her chin on top of them.

Almy frowned as the girl slammed her head against the table. And now she said she might cry. Almyra wasn't very good socially, and didn't pick up on the fact that she was exaggerated. "No need to cry." She moved over to Yoko's table. She was tempted to hug the girl to cheer her up. When she looked up she seemed to be okay, though, so Almy smiled. When asked why she was eating only bread, Almy looked at the loaf, then shook her head. "Nope. I don't mind though. Usually I just go hunting if I need food, but a nice lady gave me this loaf of bread."

Yoko raised her eyebrow further at the girl in front of her. She had to hunt for food? Well, Yoko could respectfully understand how that felt, though with money she rarely had to hunt at all. Instead she usually got the comforts of actually being able to eat food that she bought from a store. “So you wouldn’t want to get something to eat? Like, say if I paid for it?” Yoko questioned, it seemed wrong to just let this girl only eat bread instead of a full fledged meal. Sure she may have been a mercenary who would cut corners to save money, but even she had her moments where she acted kind. This girl could probably use some actual food inside of her, and the merc had enough on her at the moment to pay for a nice sized meal for the two of them.

Almyra just smiled and shrugged at Yoko's offer. She could certainly use a bit more food, but had been planning on finding some somewhere. "If you want to pay for it. I will not turn down people being nice, but you don't have to." This girl was nice like the lady she met earlier was. She began to wonder if all of the people in Oak Town were nice, then again, she didn't know if this girl was from Oak Town. It was then that Almyra realized she didn't know her name yet, she blinked, then tilted her head in her usual manner whenever she was curious about something. "What's your name?"

Yoko flagged down a waitress over towards the table they sat at, while looking at the girl still. “Names Yoko. Try not to forget it.” The waitress came over and handed the duo two menus, while asking for what they would want to drink. “Orange juice for me, and whatever my friend would like.” Yoko pointed towards the raven haired girl, to which the waitress would wait for her answer, before going off to grab their drinks. Yoko would prop her chin on her hand, and look into her newest acquaintance in the eyes before asking her next question. “So. What’s your own name, and why are you here in Oak Town?” It was natural to have a bit of curiosity, to which Yoko had a lot of at times but usually reeled in. This time she would just simply ask a question that wasn’t harmful.

Almyra smiled at the waitress who gave them their menus. "Thank you. I will have water, please." She looked back at Yoko with a smile still. It was generally rare for her not to have one, really. "My name is Almyra. It's nice to meet you, Yoko. I just came to Oak Town to explore." That was the reason she went anywhere really. She didn't have much else to do but explore. In doing so she would perform small acts in order to help ensure the world remained in balance. The more she explored, the more information she could gather, and the more information she had, the easier calculations would become. It was already clear why Yoko had come here. She wondered why the girl did not know who the letter was meant for. Her employer was unwise to not tell her, since anyone could take the letter even if it wasn't for them. Almyra stared at Yoko distractedly as she became wrapped up in her own thoughts.

Yoko rubbed her nose while looking through the menu. She wasn’t all that surprised by the answer Almyra gave, exploring Oak Town was a unique adventure in its own way. The redhead could only nod and continue looking through the menu, trying to find something that looked appetizing to her. After a short while though, she felt like Almyra was continuously staring at her and when she looked up, thats exactly what she found. Squirming a bit, Yoko cleared her throat to try and gain the girl’s attention. “Uh, is there something on my face? Why are you staring at me Almyra?” She asked, a bit rudely but wondering exactly why Almyra was.

Almyra blinked when Yoko cleared her throat, noticing the girl again. She had been staring at her? Oh dear. She looked down at the table. "Sorry, I wasn't really looking at you, just thinking." She opened up the menu and started to look at it. She would just pick the cheapest option there as not to spend too much of Yoko's money. She would happily take charity offered, but would generally try to take as little as possible. She looked up at Yoko again. "Do you know why your employer didn't tell you who to give the letter to?"

Yoko sighed and scratched her head when Almyra asked why she didn't know who she was supposed to give the letter to. Of course there were probably a million reasons, but Yoko had her own theory. "I can think of three reasons." She stated, raising up one finger first. "They want me dead and don't want me to have knowledge of any attackers." She raised another finger, to signal the second reason. "They like to mess with their couriers, and thought this would be a nice way to mess with a mercenary." Yoko raised a third and final finger to symbolize the last reason she could think of. [color=#0099ff]"Or they are so secretive that I can only know the face of the person at the very end of the deal, and then we each go our parting ways."[color] Yoko caught herself leering at the waitress after she came and put both of their drinks down, mentioning to call her when they decided what to order. Yoko enjoyed herself some nice eye candy, and the restaurant knew who they were getting when they hired that particular woman.

Yoko looked back the menu with a smile, mentally checking off what she wouldn't want to eat. Absentmindedly, she asked Almyra a question. "So what cha gonna get?"

"Hmm. Interesting." Almy certainly hoped it wasn't the first reason. "Well if they do try to attack you, I will try to help you." She said to Yoko. She wouldn't want someone hurting her new friend. She noticed her staring at the waitress and looked at her as well. Was there something unusual about her? Almy didn't really notice anything other than the fact that she was pretty. Maybe Yoko thought she was pretty as well. She thanked the waitress with a smile.

Almyra looked at her menu again, finding the cheapest thing on it and telling Yoko she would have that.

Yoko raised an eyebrow at Almyra, confused on what she had ordered. "Uh, just a simple burger? I mean you don't want anything more? Im not exactly hurting on jewels here, so you can splurge a bit you know. I won't mind it." The redhead tried to convince the girl, hoping she would take her offer and actually order more to eat than just a simple cheap burger. It felt wrong to Yoko, which made her feel weird again since she had little to no moral code to begin with anyways.

Yoko awaited her answer, eyes trained solely on Almyra.

"Oh, um okay." Almyra said, blushing. Yoko really was a very nice person. Still, the burger sounded nice, so Almy decided she would stick with that. "Well I guess I'll have some things on it, then, and some fries to go with it." She said with a smile before looking back at the menu to see what condiments she could have on the burger. "I guess I'll have some um... ketchup and tomatoes and lettuce and pickles and cheese on it."

"That's the spirit." Yoko said with a bit of a chuckle as she looked over the menu herself and mentally spoke to herself what she was going to order. Waving down the waitress again, Yoko ordered for the both of them, the burger and fries for Almyra and a couple of sub sandwiches for herself. When the waitress bowed and left to go get the food, Yoko smiled and turned back to speak with the young girl in front of her. That is until she saw someone looking around behind Almyra, and the guy looked fairly shifty. He wore a large trenchcoat and was covering his face behind that and his hat, trying to not be spotted. Of course he stuck out like a sore thumb, but the redhead would only watch to see what he would do. She turned her eyes back to Almyra, smile still on her face. "Lovely day isn't it?"

Almyra noticed that Yoko seemed to stop turning to look at someone behind her. Curious as to who it was, she twisted a bit to see someone wearing a trench coat and hat. That was unusual, though she had seen, and possibly worn weirder things. She didn't think it was suspicious really. She wore a cloak all of the time just because she liked it, so maybe he liked his coat. It was kind of neat after all. She heard Yoko speak to her again and turned back with a smile. "It is! It's nice and warm and sunny!" Really, the weather could have been almost anything and Almy would have thought it to be a lovely day. "What's your favorite type of weather?"
