Hex came from a normal family where he is the only son, both his parents loved him, perfect some may say. His father and mother are both guild members of fairy tail and was both strong mages. When he was eleven, his parents was reported missing during a mission and was never found. His silver cross with chains that can be seen in his pocket is a family heirloom given to him, it is very important to him. His life turned upside down, he was left all alone in their house but luckily he has his own knowledge to keep himself surviving without his parents assisting him as later on he found the guild his parents were in.
Friendly and Jolly, Hex is always happy and loves to hang out with his friends. He is often seen smoking whenever he has the chance to. Hex is always there for his friends that are in need of help, doing whatever he can do to help. He spends most of his time training during times that he is alone. He would always wear his odd glasses whenever he is not fighting. When around his friends he tends to be very talkative and quirky at times. He loves to do missions especially with the company of his friends. He can be careless at times, causing him into trouble. But behind this jolly nature is his grief for the loss of his parents. He would also often be seen eating when not in training.
He can be considered a perfectionist, he doesn't like it when things get out of place. His house is very organized and clean because he hate to clean too much. He would always laugh at his freind's jokes. Whenever someone would try to remove his glasses or take his silver cross, he tends to get very mad especially if it isn't his friend or guild member, that would be the only thing that would make Hex angry easily out of simple things. He is also a completionist, for he doesn't back out in any mission, except for chores at the guild. He is easy to be with and he gets freinds easily. He treats his guild and freinds as his family and would get angry once someone would hurt anyone of them. He can sometimes be hardheaded especially when in terms of smoking, if it is not allowed in areas, he would still do it no matter what.
During battle, he tends to change his personality. He turns serious and would give all his best. He doesn't like to be defeated. Once you are his enemy, it gets harder to live. He never underestimate his enemies, he never looks down on them. He takes off his glasses when in battle so when he takes his glasses of, its time to run. Never would endanger his friends at battle. He won't hesitate to do anything to complete his mission, just with the exemption of endangering his friends or any innocent people. Fighting is a way for him to release all his anger, so when he's angry before fighting, expect to have a hard time.
In a group, Hex would always follow a leaders order. He knows that the leaders know what is best to do. Although when he thinks that the leader's orders are bad for the many, he would go for his own way. But as a leader himself, he would put the safety of many first before his. His orders would be only the right and what's best for many. He would turn into a serious person once he is a leader of the team, much like when fighting. He would alacts think first before he acts.

Although it appears that he only has a normal build through his clothing, Hex has a muscular body. Hex has black and shaggy hair that would normally cover the top half of his ears. He wears an oddly shaped glasses which he never removes when not in battle. His main choice of clothing is a blue long sleeved collared shirt and over his shirt he wears a jacket, and on the jacket's left pocket he has a silver cross with a small chain. He also wears a white tie and a pair of black gloves. Also, his shirt collar always raised up. He wears black slacks,a belt and black leather shoes. Despite of his clothing, his fighting does not get affected.
