- Spoiler:
Name: Silvaetus “Silver” Medley
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Birthday: October 23rd
Sexuality: Straight
Special Characteristics:
Silvaetus replaced several of his internal organs with mechanical counterpart. These organs are:
- The lung which has been replaced with an oxygen filtration system allowing him to breath in most environments
- Part of his Brain along with his right eye was replaced with a powerful processing/computing chip
- The heart has been completely replaced by a mechanical pump
- The spine is replaced by a reinforced mechanical equivalent
- What space was left in his Chest cavity was filled in by both a fusion and nuclear mini-reactor
As a result he possesses numerous scars across his body as well as a mechanical access point on the right side of his chest (over the nuclear reactor).
Personality:
Having grown up on the streets of Crocus in the harshest of scum-filled, criminally infested slums, Silvaetus possesses a very specific mentality that he could never get rid of: Survival of the evilest lowlife – “Look out for yourself and only yourself, because no one else will. Be prepared to do anything at any cost. Survival is your top priority” Thusly he possesses a very distinctive disregard for the law, moral codes as well as social etiquettes. He struggles to understand the last to points, so to the common outsider he would appear rather ruthless, emotionless and/or cruel. Mercy is a word not within his vocabulary. Agitation from any source (whether friend or foe) is met with near immediate violence and in some cases instant execution or dismemberment of limbs.
This brings us to his unreliable temper. Sometimes you could annoy him for hours without him even flinching…on other occasions he would blow out your kneecaps for stepping on his foot. What is consistent, however, is the way he “unleashes” his temper. In most cases (cases he knows that he has the upper hand) Silvaetus commits an immediate act of violence. But for situations where simple action is not enough he waits in complete silence. He plans out his actions and weighs his options. If the situation was not in his favor he can often be seen simply walking away…and taking his revenge soon after through meticulously thought out plans. This part doesn’t exactly fit a street-thug mentality – even Silvaetus himself realizes that – and yet it suits him perfectly. Survival as a child in a cruel environment is not dependent on brute force, but raw brains. Every decision, every word, every movement has its very specific purpose, a hidden meaning – he almost revolutionized strategy and real-time tactics by applying them to even the seemingly most arbitrary things. His contingency plans have contingency plans, and these of course have even more contingency plans backing them. Most people who find out about this side of him judge him as meticulous, calculative and even untrustworthy and manipulative.
And yet most of the above are aspects of him many don’t realize until later. At first glance he doesn’t seem all so bitter at all. In fact he is usually perceived as a playful ball of joy – a happy-go-lucky attitude. Always carrying a happy highly motivated tone in his voice, cracking jokes and fooling around. Sometimes he does a few random things like suddenly stacking chairs, sorting toothpicks or just set something on fire… No one would ever suspect his near permanent state of absolute delirium. The loss of his family had driven him mad to a point that he possessed no sense of reality. Only in recent years when he found out that his little sister may be alive has he regained a certain level of sanity; just enough. He can often be heard muttering to himself – sometimes its algorithms, sometimes it’s about his past and sometimes it’s just gibberish. Sometimes Silvaetus has hallucinations: people from his past that cause him to go on a killing spree or trigger a sudden emotional breakdown, sometimes he falls into a full hallucination thinking he is somewhere else in his past. But if there is one thing you should never do, it is to insult his family or take away the locket he carries around with him – only pain and death await those who do. But otherwise he seems quite friendly.
Still despite it all there are times he is quite tranquil...mostly thanks to heavy medication and sedation but it’s still something. It is in these moments that he is completely lucid and (safely) approachable about anything. And it is in these “phases” where he is able to form emotional bonds. Anything he promises, any friend he makes will be carried on through his insanity…and he never goes back on his word. Very few know him in this state as he usually retreats to a secluded area.
He has one other obsession other than the search for his sister: research. The world of weapons and other devices (whether mechanical, chemical or biological) are his field of expertise. There is nothing he will not do to build his designs, no limits to what he is willing to force onto others for simple data. If you give him a request for a weapon he will design it and even improve it given the time – the main reason he is in the business of illegal weapons trade. He especially fancy’s heavy weaponry, explosives and biological human-based weapons. Give him the chance and you will fall victim to his experiments. For this reason he loves conflicts and wars. These scenarios provide the best opportunities to both research, experiment and challenge his tactical mind.
In combat he concerns only for himself. If he has allies he will use them like pawns on the complex chessboard that is the battlefield – disposable units depending on the situation. Silvaetus prioritizes his own safety first stick to the back lines and providing devastating blows from behind and coordinating front-line attacks. Many of these tactics will seem ruthless and they usually leave no survivors…even if the enemy surrenders his insanity driven thirst for blood drives him to lay waste to all of them. He often secures his defenses first and sets up devastating, crippling traps for his foes. He will always use his surroundings to his advantage and may even lie in wait for his enemy for days on end. When things turn for the worse he will use anything he can as a distraction, any maneuver and trick to outwit his opponent…and then when he is ready he will return to finish the job. Manipulation is also part of his game even outside of battle. There is a certain amount of fun he gets from twisting and contorting a man’s mind and actions to his will. He will try to turn foe against foe or even ally against ally if needed…
When it comes to being under someone’s command things might get a bit dicey. He dislikes complete lack of authority within a chain of command, so assigning him to be a simple soldier will not win you his obedience. Give him a position of authority (even under someone else)that gives him full power over tactics…you will not hear a single sound of protest.
Likes:
Research in the fields of chemical, biological and mechanical weapons is his passion. He lives under the belief that both true destructive and constructive power lies in the fusion of magic and technology. Magic being the means to mass-produce and enhance, technology the means to create the core device.
Combat and War are the best places to test his inventions. They provide willing clients and sufficient test subjects as well as funding. It is also an opportunity to challenge his tactical mind and release the bloodlust built up within him.
Food is one of his rather conventional loves. Be it the culinary arts we all know so well or that of cannibals and savages – he loves it all. So never eat a stew or steak he offers you without asking what it is…you might end up eating your neighbor! Insanity’s a pleasant thing isn’t it?
Destruction the end state of all his experiments. The sight of his creations completely laying waste to a city, ending thousands of lives, the sound of agonized screams, the crackle of flames burning down the remains of a city…absolute bliss. However it is rare for him to indulge in this event, as only in war could this occur.
Dislikes:
Nobility is the cause of his loss, his anguish and despair, his insanity. His brilliant mind attracted unpleasant people and they didn’t always come from the slums. Many came from the upper class only wanting him as a trophy. And in most cases they went after his family to blackmail him.
Subjugation is one thing that will set him off like fireworks on New Year’s Eve. Never try to strip him of all authority and/or completely control him. It’s like flipping a switch from absolute calm to hillbilly with a shotgun in hunting season.
Ignorant people telling him how to do his work. I’m pretty sure most can relate and have experienced it. There is always that one person that thinks he can do your job better than you while you CLEARLY know what you are doing. Silvaetus has a certain tolerance for it but you shouldn’t push your luck…
Motivations:
Finding his sister is his top priority. There is no evidence that she is still alive but rumors are all he needs to drive him. No stone will be left unturned, no bush unchecked, no arm unbroken…if he can get information as to her whereabouts then he will do anything to attain it.
Laying waste to the corrupt nobility is his form of revenge. He knows that he is not yet powerful enough to fend off mages who are possibly guarding them and stronger than Silvaetus. Thusly he will bide his time, getting stronger, planning out his revenge down to the most gruesome detail…
Creating his masterpiece, the epitome of his work, his crowning legacy. He wishes to design and construct the ultimate weapon (or device) that no mere man could best in even ten millennia. It will be his final work and until that day he will not rest.
Fears:
His greatest fear is to perish before finding his last surviving sister. His entire life would have otherwise been dedicated to achieving nothing…and having his own life to amount to nothing is unacceptable. His distraught mind would find no peace not knowing if she was healthy or sick, happy or sad.
The death of his sister would naturally be the second thing he most fears. Whilst death would be unacceptable for him before finding her, finding out that there was no hope to find her would plunge him into complete insanity. The very insanity that currently grips his mind so tight that it is hard to think at times, the very same insanity that drives him to keep searching with only a faint spark of possibly false hope.
His subjugation…even if he fights against it there may come a time when he will not be able to fight back or run. It is this day that he dreads and fears. The little control he currently he has over his own mind is the only thing offering his sane ego security, so any authority he can attain in the outside world would offer him more stability. Taking away control of even his own actions would probably cause the collapse of the remains of his inner world.
General Appearance
Height: 1.88 m
Weight: 78.5 kg
Hair: Medium black hair, messy
Eyes: left: canary yellow; right: scarlet red
Skin Tone: light
Appearance:
Silvaetus has a relatively muscular build yet still seems rather thin for a man at 1.88 m tall. He doesn’t have especially broad shoulders, but they do seem somewhat large for him. Most of the time he can be seen walking around in a light suit of futuristic armor that mainly serves as a monitory system of his bodily functions and offers minimal security. He never shows his face even to allies simply so that he can disappear at will. For this Silvaetus wears a (gas-)mask that is rather redundant with his artificial lungs. However the mask is almost impossible to remove even by force as it is not simply clamped around his head and connected to his suit, but it is also partially anchored into his skull. Generally he would look like someone from a hazmat-team to the common eye, others would categorize him as a (mad) scientist. But the one thing almost all agree to (at first glance) is the ominous aura that oozes out of his very being…an aura many may even describe as malevolent or deadly.
