The Hunter(Remington, Karamath and Kihia(no interuptions)

Kihia was walking down a road that led to some ancient ruins. A few days ago a decree from the magic council had arrived to the Lamia Scale guild hall about stopping treasure hunters getting to artifacts of the original ten wizards saints. He had gotten up to agree to the job, but another member had come in to the hall also accepting it. Kihia didn’t know much about her due to the fact he had never seen her before. Shortly after they departed they met a mage from Fairy Tail that had also taken up the job, and had joined them for the mission. Kihia sighed as he wasn’t sure on how good of an idea it was to work with them.

Kihia glanced back at his two companions, the other Lamia Scale member had long violet hair and purple eyes, she was dressed casually. Kihia didn’t know what kind of magic she used, but was sure that she is capable mage. Then there was the mage from Fairy Tale, he had blond hair, and blue eyes, but the thing Kihia was curious about was the man’s staff which was very intricately designed.

They reached the top of a ridge and the ruins were now in view, Such a large area to cover, with unknown enemies and traps… Kihia turned to his two companions, he was unsure about their own capabilities and was trying to formulate the best plan of action. After a moment Kihia continued walking down the hill towards the ruins, keeping a close eye for any enemies that may try and attack the group. “So… what do you two think would be the best plan of action?” Kihia said this without turning to face them, his main priority was making sure they didn’t get ambushed. Even though I don’t know them…I will defend them like everyone else…

What were the chances of all of this transpiring? Kara had finally returned to the guildhall after a long shift at a a restaurant, only to see particularly eye-catching piece of paper on the guild's noticeboard. Kara didn't pay it much heed until she saw what the reward was and gasped. The chance to obtain a legendary item didn't come every day. It seemed another mage at her guild had the same idea, as the two of them signed up for the job together. The amethyst haired maiden hadn't stayed up to speak with him though. She needed her sleep if she was to go running through a labyrinth fighting vicious men in the morrow.

Then the morning of the job while the two Lamia Scale magi travelled to their destination they were met by someone all too familiar to Kara; August Remington of Fairy Tail, a man she had worked with on a previous job over in Clover Town. Of course things were a little different now than they were on that occasion. Would he resent her for Kaligos leaving Fairy Tail and joining Lamia Scale? She certainly hoped not.

The trio approached the ruins in what seemed to be an awkward silence at first, although that was most likely down to Kara not saying a word. August had seemed to be a friendly man, but who knew what he might think now? Still, Kara couldn't well remain silent, and walking back to the guild would mean giving up on that reward. She might not ever get this opportunity again.

Sucking up her courage, the young woman cleared her throat. "So...what items do the two of you suspect are in there? If it's from the Wizard Saints of old...I'd imagine there's some incredibly powerful things in there." She tried her best to keep her voice relaxed, although whether she was successful remained to be seen.

'Don't know, but whatever it is. It's worth a lot of jewels' Replied August calmly, while there was a twinkle of greed in his eyes. It was a characteristic of him that didn't appear very often. In matter of fact  it was rare for him that it had only happened once or twice before. And each of these times his bank account was nearly empty. Enough so that if it wasn't for the guild hall he would have starved to death by now.
There was off course a reason for his current financial dilemma, and those were his travels around the world. On which he had blown all his funds without even thinking of the repercussions when he returned home. And now after his 3 years absence of the guild he had to deal with that. Or how one of his guild mates called it 'you've reaped what you sowed pal'

'Anyway' continued August while looking down on the ancient ruins. Even from up the ridge they were standing on the place looked rather big. Enough so that if not thread carefully you could easily find yourself lost without any sense of direction 'I suggest we'd find some sort of main entrance to this place. And look for any clue or information that could lead us to the relic... or maybe other treasures of equal worth hehe'

August immediately started descending down from the ridge after he spoke, eager to take a closer look at the ruins and their architecture. Hoping that he could find some sort of hint right from the start. But also his need of exploration settled in a bit, after all these were sorts of places is why he started traveling in the first place. To see the wonders of the world, hidden landscapes and more.
'You know seeing this place makes me wonder' he inquired out loud 'How many more of buildings like this are there. And why is it that it lays in ruins?'

Kihia kept walking towards the city, he had heard what his companions said but didn’t have a response for them. He stopped to study the remains of the various structures of the ruins trying to spot out something specific. Artifacts from the original ten wizard saints… they are probably stored underground… with an entry way that was previously hidden… Kihia stopped a few feet from the edge of the ruins and started looking for something he could climb to get a good vantage point of the surrounding area. Kihia then spotted a column that used to be part a building; it was leaning against a wall but still mostly intact. “I am going to check the surround area… one moment please…” Kihia started running towards the column and swiftly climbed up to the top of it.

Kihia could see across a good part of the ruins now, he spotted some remains of buildings that could have been important buildings once, There must be a camp…or the remains of one where the treasure hunters used as their temporary outpost… Kihia continued scanning the ruins until he spotted what seemed to be remains of a camp. Kihia nodded and then slid down the column and walked back over to his companions. “I spotted what seem to be the remains of a camp in the eastern part of the ruins, however I am not completely sure if it is abandoned or not…” Kihia waited a moment before he continued, “I also saw two structure remains that could have been important in their time near the center of the ruins. “ Kihia took a moment to stop and listen to his companions’ responses then something came to mind. “I am sorry… but I was never did catch your names before…” Kihia was ashamed to admit it, but it was true… He never did get his companions’ names…

It seemed her fellow guildmate Kihia had the idea of scouting, as he rushed off for a short time to check the ruins surroundings. It didn't seem to take him longer however as he soon approached Kara and August to inform them of the state of the ruins. To be honest the details were nothing they couldn't have quickly figured out themselves, but Kara wasn't going to say anything on the matter. Instead she focused on Kihia's last words. None of them had introduced themselves to one another, which was doubly bad for Kara seeing as how the two of them were in the same guild. She smiled politely and bowed her head slightly in apology. "Sorry you're right. We've not met in the guildhall yet have we? My name is Kara Matheson. I've been working a lot in the bars around Hargeon lately so I've not been in the guildhall very often." she replied warmly.

She then turned her attention to the ruins. Somewhere in there was a group of dangerous treasure hunters who all knew each other well. The three legal mages hadn't much - if any - experience working together. This wasn't going to be the easiest of jobs that was for sure. "From what I hear, the men down there are rather tough and infamous...I suggest that under no circumstances should we even consider splitting up if we come to a fork in the path. God forbid we split up and one of us ends up facing the big boss man alone..." Her announcement was probably unexpected and probably irrelevant, but she felt it was necessary to make her thoughts known nonetheless just to play it safe. The last thing they needed was to fail the mission and be carrying home a bodybag...or worse, not coming home at all.

While Kihia went out and scout the surrounding area, August would sit back on a rock while he leaned against hist staff a bit. Slowly watching as the young mage closely observed every crook and cranny. However just like Kara he would sit there in silence, just until the young man returned, where he declared that he had found some structures of importance. In that moment the Kara started to speak and introduce herself to him. And immediately followed up with a observation about their enemies. Something that had bothered August as well for a while. Their enemies were supposed to be treasure hunters, however he found it rather strange that the job to just catch some mere grave robbers came from that high up the magical government.

'Aww where is your sense of adventure Kara?' said August jokingly while forwards leaning on his staff. 'Anyway you're probably right.' he suddenly continued with a serious tone. 'They're are notorious enough that they are even in the Council's wanted list. Which strikes me as quite odd actually, when did you ever hear of a gang of treasure hunters that are wanted this much by the Magic Council? Normally they wouldn't even bother to stop them, it would just be a waste of their valuable resources.'

Then his sudden seriousness faded away and his face turned once again into it's normal relaxed self with a broad and warm smile. While his eyes had a rather playful twinkle in it. 'Anwyay' he continued 'as for our introduction. My name is August Remington, and as you know I am a Fairy Tail mage, however unlike me fellow guild mates I am not that much of a fighter. In fact, I don't have a lot of fighting skills at all'

Kihia nodded at his companions as a secondary greeting, “My name is…Kihia Avoa... it is a pleasure to meet you both…” Kihia turned around, Two possible roads are in front of us, and splitting up is not a good idea hearing this groups reputation…. The camp may be a good first place to check out… Kihia looked over his left shoulder at his companions and said, “I would say our best bet…is to check out the camp first…it may give us clues about our enemies, in terms of how many there are…and other things…” Kihia shifted Icarus on his right shoulder and started walking quietly towards the direction of the camp.

As Kihia walked he kept an constant eye on the surrounding ruins, he himself though about why this band of treasure hunters were so high on the Magic councils…until an idea came to him, “I think I may understand why the Magic Council wants these guys taken out…” Kihia stopped for a moment taking cover by a partially destroyed wall, It shouldn’t be too much farther… Kihia then looked at his companions, “Ancient ruins of this size may have powerful artifacts from their golden age locked somewhere in them… and if these group of treasure hunters have drawn the attention of the Magic council itself, might mean these guys tend to use the artifacts for the wrong reasons…” Kihia paused for a moment, he had come to that conclusion from the knowledge his teacher had taught him through the years. Kihia frowned remembering what Kara had said earlier, “And if the artifacts in this ruin are from….a group of the ten wizards saints of an age long gone… it could prove a lot of trouble for a lot of people…” Kihia immediately started to move after this, that solitary possibility concerned him, he knew that no matter what, artifacts from any Wizard saint should never fall into the wrong hands….

August's joke reminded Kara of exactly why she had enjoyed their previous job together. He was very relaxed, not unlike a certain card mage, but was also serious as and when needed. She felt comfortable working with him, which is more than could be said for many of the mages she'd met over the past year or so. Kihia was more of a serious man, but seemed to have a level head on his shoulders nonetheless rather than panicking. Thinking about it, this group was quite a mix of personalities. Only time would tell if this mix would work out well or not. She stretched down for a moment, taking in what Kihia was saying about how these men were clearly dangerous and that they'd need to work together - exactly what Kara had said. However he had come up with an idea beforehand that piqued the lavender haired maiden's interest. "The camp makes sense...they'll probably have been thorough, but we can gauge how long they've been in the ruins and how far behind we are...from there we can try to track them somehow." she added, standing up straight and placing her hands on her hips.

"Well standing here isn't going to help us at all. We ought to get moving." she continued, before beginning to walk towards the eastern side of the ruins where Kihia had previously stated the camp was. A certain nervousness crept into Kara as she walked however. Her previous jobs had been with Kaligos or Matabei, people she knew she could trust 100%. Although she'd worked with August and Kihia was a guildmember, she wasn't sure if she could trust them yet. Still...if there were any of the hunters still at the camp then it would be a good way of testing how they'd work as a trio.

It was true, the hunter campsite would make for the best place to start their search, and just as Kara suggested from there on out they could maybe pinpoint the enemies location inside the ruins. And come up with an estimate time to catch up to them.

However there was also the possibility that they'd encountered the enemy there. Treasure hunters left behind the guard the encampment and the loot they had already found. At least that was what August hoped for, loot valuable enough to at least get him through the next couple of months.
'Sounds like a plan to me' he replied casually as he started to follow Kara.

Kara led August and Kihia towards the eastern part of the ruins, and eventually August could see what looked like glimpses of tents between the broken structures. Meaning that they were closing in.
Once they had taken a few steps further the encampment came entirely in sight, good enough to actually make an estimate of how big the enemy group could be.

While August stared at the treasure hunter's camp he suddenly heard voices coming his way, and instantly he duck behind the cover of a broken pillar that laid on the ground. One that was big enough to cover a men's entire body out of sight.

When the voices came closer the three mages could eventually hear what they were talking about, however it was of no interest to them. As it seems that the three hunters were nothing more then the unlucky souls left behind to guard the camp.
While kneeling August would look around if the other two mages had found cover as well, and trying to make eye contact with them. Seeing if they could come up with a plan of action.

'Monster Dice' :

Kihia grimaced from his hiding spot, he examined the group that was walking into the area. There were twelve hunters in total, six of which definitely didn’t look like much of a challenge, however the one leading the group, seemed different than the rest. Kihia slowly put both of his hands on the ground, I can’t make this it’s full size… instead I will make it about a third of its normal size and hope that it doesn’t draw anymore unneeded attention… Kihia then looked at August and then at Kara, getting a fix on their locations. He did a slight nod towards each of them and then whispered “Ice Make… Terrain…” Kihia waited until the ice sheet covered roughly an area of ten meters, he also made sure to put ice spikes on Kara’s and August’s footwear.

He looked around the column he was hiding behind and saw that the group of hunters had been caught off guard from the sudden sheet of ice coming out of nowhere. He nodded and then kicked off the pillar to slide himself towards a nearby block of old foundation. He then turned around and kicked off towards the group full force. Kihia barreled through the group knocking them down in the process. He then continued to skate the direction he was headed and then said, “Ice… Make… Spear!” He waited for the spearhead to fully form then thrusted it into the Ice sheet, Kihia then used Icarus to spin around without losing any momentum. Kihia then yanked Icarus out of the ice sheet and rocketed back towards the group of hunters. He directed himself towards the leader of this group, Kihia then noticed the man had put his hands together and a magic circle appeared. A mage!?! Kihia watched the man mutter something and a bow made out of crystal formed in his hands. He shot a crystallized arrow at Kihia which he barely managed to avoid it and cut the crystal mage’s shoulder as he passed by.

The group guarding the campsite was considerably larger than the trio could have predicted. Kara expected maybe three or four men at most, so when they counted twelve treasure hunters she was a little taken aback. She hid herself a few meters behind Kihia after deciding to let him take charge of this strike, and he certainly didn't disappoint as he turned the floor in the campsite to ice and set off to strike the men down. "Ice Make...interesting..." she thought to herself as she grinned. She couldn't help but to admire a fellow make wizard.

Now wasn't the time to admire though and she soon snapped back into what she had to do. With the ice grips on her feet the second Molder mage placed her hands by her sides. "Amethyst Make; Silent Assassin." she whispered as she rushed forward in silence. A long thin amethyst katana appeared in her hands as she ran and she intended to put it to good use. With the group of men focused on Kihia, Kara was able to strike two of the men across their backs twice each at a pace that made her strikes almost a blur. It seemed the two men were the weaker of the group as they both staggered forward a couple of steps and one fell on their ass as they attempted to turn and face their attacker. Another man who'd been stood nearby was now at their side to support them, helping his partner back to his feet while keeping his gun pointed at Kara as if expecting it would keep her back. The Lamia Scale maiden lowered her katana back to her right hip as she prepared to take the three of them on, only to see another two swordsmen join their ranks. A small smile crossed her lips.

August sighed as he saw the events in front of him taking a direction that he wasn't that fond off. Without a second thought the two make-type mages he was with, decided to go on the offensive, while August himself preferred to keep hidden and find some way into the ruins without being detected.

However when he watched their fight with the significantly larger group of hunters, he had to admit that they knew what they were doing. With ease the ice-make mage Kihia had engulfed the entire area with a thin layer of reflecting ice, all while at the same time he thought of his comrades and created under the sole of their boots a small layer of spiked ice. Making sure that they as well would keep their grip on the ground.

The moment after Kihia jumped out of his hiding spot and into the group while he created some sort of spear our of nothingness. And with it he maneuvered with ease among the treasure hunters until he stood in front of their apparent leader.

Kara at the other hand saw an opportunity to strike at them while they were all focused on the ice mage. And with perfect elegance she as well jumped out of her hiding spot and charged towards the back of some of the hunters. Simultaneously she created a long and thin katana that appeared in her hands. It looked like some sort of gemstone.

Knowing that fighting was inevitable now August raised his hand with the palm facing towards the group of hunters. While he did so he could feel his magic power flow through his arm and gather in front of his palm, were a bright yellow pentacle appeared. At the same time he uttered the words that would initiate his own attack 'Light Barrage!'

From out the pentacle seven thick bolts of light were shot and homed in at some of the hunters. And crashed into them with a small explosions of light. Yet it was not an full success as two of the bolts missed their targets. However the other five took out several of the hunters, four of them that stood around the leader and Kihia and one bolt hit the poor soul of a hunter that was trying to get up from Kara's first attack. Knocking the man back onto the ice again.

Kihia started to skate back around as the crystal mage turned around and took aim, Kara and August had engaged and were doing very well. Kihia strafed to avoid the incoming arrows, however a few did graze by him as the mage in front of him picked up his firing rate. Kihia got back to him and hit the man’s crystal bow with Icarus shattering it. Kihia then sliced across the man’s chest with the spear head, the crystal mage retaliated by forming two crystal swords and started to try and attack Kihia with them. Kihia tried to back away but got hit a few times in the process. Kihia slid back until he reached a column behind him, he nodded and then shoved off it full force towards the leader.

Kihia parried both of the crystal swords as he reached the leader and spun around to force the man to lose his grip on them, Kihia then started his attack sequence. Out of the spin, Kihia kicked the man’s leg knocking it out from underneath him. Kihia then slamed the blunt end of Icarus on the man’s chest making him slide backward on the ice. Kihia nodded at this, It should take him a moment to recover before he can get back up… Kihia then turned around and parried a sword coming from one of the other treasure hunters, Kihia then pushed the sword off of Icarus and delivered a kick to the treasure hunter’s stomach making him keel over.

Kihia then slammed Icarus on the man’s back making him face plant into the ice, he nodded, Thankfully… these treasure hunters don’t have much experience on ice it seems… Kihia then took off to go assist Kara with the group she was fighting, he felt the ice spear tip starting to dissipate but he was sure that Icarus will suffice for now.
