This first came to my attention when I noticed that there hadn't been a "FT takeover" in the chat box recently. I thought FT was in a slump. Then I notice in the cbox almost every name is a different color. The player base has become spread incredibly thin between the user groups. Which may seem good because of variety but what good is having a variety of empty buildings?

I don't have any idea what to do with this.

Thoughts? Anyone?

Make the cap 5 members a month.


Also put a max limit on guildmembers. I mean, like 50% are members who poofed anyways...

The two most obvious ways to solve this are either A. Get a lot more people to join the site or B. Get rid of some of the guilds. The first option is hard and would probably mess up the tight-knit community we have here, the second is mean and would antagonize a lot of people. It's a no-win situation, but I feel like it'll just get worse as time goes on. I don't trust myself to make a decision on it that wouldn't make people mad; in fact, I'm pretty sure that's impossible. Still, it's a major problem. While we can stall it, it'll probably take either another overhaul of the guild system or some other drastic action to fully fix it.

... Or we all rank up and fill guilds with alts.

Alts are a temporary solution to a permanent problem.

the best solution to this is probably what Chaostothemax suggested, is to advertise our site across the web. And with it attracting more members to fill the guilds.

Week two: NA and FT are open
Week three: BP and LS
Week three: Wk 1

Cycling guilds might work... but some people might just not finish their apps until the week their guild opens up.

cycling the guilds will only force members to wait to join until the guild they want opens. If someone doesn't want to join one of the available guilds they won't.

In my opinion.. the only way to regulate a boost in joining a certain guild than the others... is providing jewels or some EXP.

I think no more than 10 Jewels or 25EXP

10 jewels is enough for a shitty cup of mage coffee and 25 exp might work. But if someone is only joining a guild because of little things like that and not the actual purpose of the guild, it turns into a mess of apathy and insincerity

Well good way to fix it would be to advertize more your guild effectively and find a solution to guild hopping. Guild hopping is whats killing a lot of these guilds. In a way getting members is a popularity contest, new people come in fresh and not knowing anything. The first impressions means all.

Now what we really is a cap on guildhopping because it makes or breaks guilds utterly.
