Lucille sighed as she walked through the East Forest in Magnolia. This was yet another job that did not require the use of brute force or killing, thus giving the blood mage nothing to really do to set her own skillset. Instead, this was a modeling job, one her sister so happily pointed out to her. Gritting her teeth at the memory, Lucille trudged forward through the thick trees hoping to find the photo shoot location soon. While she wasn’t one to attempt to get to a boring job faster, she felt no need to waste time beating around the bush and would rather put on the silly outfits and dresses so she could go home just as quickly. Maybe it was the irritation, but as soon as she walked into the clearing in which the photo shoot would take place she sighed in complete irritation as a familiar face appeared to her.
It was Maggie Molden, the pop idol who Lucille had ran into on her last mission. The blonde easily spotted Lucille and waved happily, to which the blood maid was forced to wave back to in response. ‘Why the hell is she here? Can’t they just get a regular photo of her anywhere?’ Sighing, Lucille pat her back to make sure her trusty bladed hat was still on her back. The mage had gone without it before, but she definitely felt more safe with it on her person or near her at all times. Besides that, the hat would teleport to her if it was outside of a certain range; as she had been privy to discovering not too long after her last time attempting to leave the guild hall without it. Lucille was glad for that, as she now had something she could rely on, but it grew to be a pain if she wore it for all of her “guildless” missions, being taken as a threatening menace instead of the innocent guild member she was trying to act as.
Trying being the keyword.
“Heeeeeeeeeeey! Luann!” Maggie’s chipper voice annoyed Lucille slightly, but she smiled at the pop star regardless of how painful it might have been.
“Hello Maggie.” Lucille bowed respectfully to her, which made the pop star blush slightly, going unnoticed by the blood maid. “I didn’t figure you would be in a place like this. What are you doing here?” Lucille needed that part answered, as she didn’t plan to have the blood of a famous pop star be spilled so soon, her skillset wasn’t ready to have a reputation as large as that would bring. So instead, she patiently awaited the blonde’s response, which came just as quickly and almost just as chipper as her hello.
“Well I heard of a photo shoot her, and I couldn’t very well pass up an opportunity to do something like this!” Maggie grabbed Lucille and pulled her into a small embrace, to which Lucille had to simply return, lest she incur the anger of her clients, who were staring fondly at the scene. “And now a friend is here! This couldn’t get any better!” Lucille felt her heart skip a beat as Maggie called her a ‘friend’, but quickly squashed the feeling. She knew better than to get connected to anyone, especially a goodie goodie like Maggie. The blood maid idly wondered, as she pulled out of the hug, how Maggie managed to avoid being cut by her razor hat, but filed it away in her brain for later.
“You think we should get to posing now?” Lucille asked, to which Maggie cheerfully agreed to. For the next five hours, the clients from Sorcery Weekly had the duo dress in various clothing items. Lucille took off her eyepatch for a lot of the photos, wanting to keep that away from most of the public eye. Instead, she finally showed her hidden left eye, which happened to be violet in color, which surprised Maggie and the photographers. They were used for schoolgirl, swimsuit, and even princess themed clothing, and after the entire ordeal Lucille was ready to get out of there and be a regular Tartarus mage once more. But when she finished dressing, she turned to see a blushing Maggie staring intently at her.
“Yes?” The blood maid asked slightly annoyed, to which the young blonde pop star ‘eep’d to.
“I uh….think you should take off the eyepatch more often. Gives you a more appealing look...” Maggie said, which made Lucille sigh and shake her head.
“There is a reason I wear this…” Lucille stated, to which the idol made an ‘oh’ face to and blushed. The blood maid just sighed and shook her head. “Shall we go and get our reward for doing this?” The pop star cheered up at this and nodded enthusiastically.
“Yup!” Maggie took Lucille’s hand, and dashed towards the booth. All the while, the Tartarus mage thought one thing.
‘What does the future hold next?’
