Name: Guilty Thorn
Rank: Legendary+
Type: Sword
Description: Guilty Thorn is a blade that was crafted by Marick's close friend and former mercenary partner, Rufus (nicknamed 'Ruthless'), who now resides in Crocus as an independent blacksmith. The talented weapon craftsman owed Marick for giving him a second chance at life and thus was more than happy to provide a weapon for the Sabertooth Ace, particularly after hearing of the man's loss of his previous magic. After much deliberation the blade was crafted to commemorate what Marick had done for him, and thus was aptly named Guilty Thorn. The blade is around 4 feet long with the hilt being a further half a foot. There are numerous thorn-like protrusions along the crimson-coloured blade more as a decorative feature than anything else, but still brutally sharp and capable dealing considerable damage to the body as it tears through flesh rather than slicing through it.
Strengths:
- The protrusions will cause any opponent struck with the blade to be dealt C-rank damage for 3 posts of bleeding damage if struck. If struck twice the opponent will suffer from B-rank damage for 3 posts. The damage does not stack beyond B-rank damage (capped at the users rank).
- As a Legendary weapon, each strike dealt to an opponent deals A-rank damage (capped at the users rank).
- As a high quality weapon, Guilty Thorn increases the wielders Mana Pool by 5%
- The weapon can be wielded either single-handedly or with two hands at the wielders choice, although single-handed combat can be risky due to the higher chance of the wielder catching themselves with the 'thorns'.
- The blade deals considerable damage to other weaponry should they be used to block an attack from Guilty Thorn. Blades used to block Guilty Thorn will suffer from double the damage as the protrusions will wear the blade down quicker.
Weaknesses:
- The weapon is best wielded with two hands, as allowing too much free movement may result in the user harming themselves with the protrusions.
- Armors of Artifact rank A or above will prevent the bleeding bonus.
- Guilty Thorn cannot break through shields.
- The blade has no elemental bonuses, thus does not deal additional damage to any element based opponents.
Abilities:
- Bleeding Bonus if the opponent is struck. C-rank damage each post for 3 posts if struck once, B-rank damage if struck twice.

Abilities:
- Bleeding Bonus if the opponent is struck. C-rank damage each post for 3 posts if struck once, B-rank damage if struck twice.
- Guilty Thorn:
- Name: Guilty Thorn
Rank: B
Type: Defensive
Description: As an opponent goes the strike the wielder, the wielder will block while speaking the words 'Guilty Thorn'. As soon as the opponent strikes Guilty Thorn they will suffer from damage equal to the damage they were inflicting, as well as suffer a temporary speed drop as they are stunned from the recoil. Spells of S-rank or above are unaffected by this spell.
Strengths:
- Deals damage equal to that which the opponent is attempting to inflict as well as stunning the opponent briefly to give Marick a chance to strike the opponent in retaliation.
- The spell activates immediately, allowing the user to react to an attack immediately and make the attacker regret their decision.
- This spell can be used to successfully block any incoming single-target spell or attack of A-rank or below (capped at users rank).
Weaknesses:
- Cannot block spells of S-rank or above.
- Wizards of S-rank or above are immune to both the recoil and the stun affect, and thus can easily get clear of Marick's retaliation.
- Useless against AoE attacks.
- Using this against a considerably lower ranked attack would be a waste as the attack wouldn't deal much damage anyway.
Duration/Cooldown:
Guilty Thorn is an instant use spell with a 5 post cooldown.
- Crown of Thorns:
- Name: Crown of Thorns
Rank: B
Type: Defensive
Description: When the wielder is first attacked by the opponent he calls out the words 'Crown of Thorns'. The attacker is then afflicted with a curse that inflicts damage equal to half the damage they try to inflict upon the wielder if their attack is blocked with Guilty Thorn.
Strengths:
- A way of deterring an opponent from attacking the wielder too often.
- Deals damage equal to half the damage the attacker is trying to deal if the attack lands or is blocked. The attack missing or being dodged will not inflict the recoil.
- Blocking an incoming attack and inflicting the recoil on an opponent can be a huge table-turner in a battle.
Weaknesses:
- This curse is useless should the opponent wise up and use low ranked spells to suffer less damage.
- If the opponent chooses to sit back and defend then this ability will go completely to waste.
- The opponent being afflicted with 'Crown of Thorns' does not change their attack damage, thus any attacks that strike the wielder of Guilty Thorn will suffer from the usual damage output.
Duration/Cooldown:
Crown of Thorns lasts for 5 posts with a 7 post cooldown.
