Name: Abraxis
Species: Bicycle
Type: Support Exceed (Strong)
Description:
Unlike most exceed pets, who take the form of animals, the Exceed Abraxis takes a most unusual form, posing in the form of a mountain bicycle, along with a big wicker basket on his front, a food holder on the near-front of the frame just so Aldous can eat on the go and finally a little brass bell on the right grip, that acts as the bicycle's talking mouth. Indeed, Abraxis talks, with much brashness, informality and gangster-like uncouth. Abraxis' personality is rough and abrasive, pretty much insulting anyone unfortunate to bump into him along the way. He also chides Aldous to a large degree but when Aldous speaks to him, Abraxis listens with reluctant respect, out of the man's magical power, his philosophy of a focus in life and most importantly, his sticking by Abraxis' side for the past 12 years, no matter how frustrating it should have been (since Abraxis is keenly aware of how unendurable his attitude must have been to many). Abraxis also stays out of battle, watching from the side and warning Aldous what he sees.
The truth about Abraxis' origins was that he once a normal cat Exceed from the alternate universe Edolas and had been in fact one of the hundreds of Exceed eggs sent to Earthland on a yet unknown mission, but he was found before he could hatch. Somehow, the ones who found him destroyed his organic body and through some rancorous magical experiment tied his soul to that of the finest bicycles in the realm (or Abraxis claims it to be the finest). What happened after that, or even how old Abraxis really is, remained a mystery to Aldous (and a point of character development).
As a magical bicycle, Abraxis provides fast transportation to any place Aldous wants, being able to reach up to 70 miles/hour with pedaling alone, but like other magical vehicles, Abraxis has a cord-like apparatus that Aldous can place on himself, allowing his magical energy to be converted into speed. At this mode and with Aldous at D-rank, Abraxis can reach a top speed of 200 miles/hour, allowing extreme movement through the landscape of Earthland.
During the Guildmaster's Meeting Event, when Abraxis witnessed the appearance of Anima over all of Clover Town, the vortex sucking up hundreds of mages at a time, and found himself being left behind, he was compelled to take hold of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to go home and through his Exceed soul, managed to call upon the Aera magic sleeping innately within him. But without an organic body to attach organic wings to, Abraxis' Aera evolved itself to adapt to his inanimate nature, forming six pairs of wispy wings of air channelled and controlled through his spinning wheels. However, while his inanimate body typically meant he does not have muscles to get tired, the reliance of his Aera on his Exceed soul has resulted in Abraxis reliving the taste of physical exhaustion once more.
Abilities:
- Magic/Speed Conversion: Like all of the magical vehicles of Earthland, Abraxis has the ability to convert Magic Power from anyone riding on him into speed for himself. This bolsters his ability to transport Aldous about, and given his simplicity as a bicycle, the magical energy drain is negligible enough that Aldous can return to fighting condition in twenty seconds at worst.
- Aera: Winged Wheels: Manifesting these wings of glowing air around his wheels, Abraxis is able to, at his base state, fly through the air at 300 miles/hour and together with Aldous' Magic Power input, reach up to near Mach 1 at 700 miles/hour, albeit draining a D-ranked spell equivalent from Aldous per post. He can only carry up to 3 people at once on the limited space on his back, but if he is needed to lift weights, his powerful bicycle frame can easily manage an upwards of 500kg, though keeping so much stuff on a fast-moving bike is another problem altogether. However, his inexperience with his magic, having never used this innate strength since he was born, means that while he may possess one of the fastest Aera among the Exceeds, he can only last in this form for 3 posts, with a fatigue cooldown of 10 posts. Furthermore, his acceleration and deceleration need to be carefully controlled, drastically limiting his aerial manoeuvrability (can only manage up to a 90 degree turn per post), else the resulting G-Force could heavily affect and hurt his rider, since his Aera is not developed enough to counter it.
