Be a Model

Luna was still panicking, sweating as she hid herself behind the same tree, despite being clearly visible. She was not ready for it. Not ready to let pictures of herself printed on pages of a magazine. Not ready to be looked at by all those people. Not ready to take all those critics. No. She was simply not ready for those. Shaking her head at all the disturbing thoughts, Luna wondered if she herself was qualifying enough physically and visually to be the model for such a magazine.

“Oi, come on. Chanelle wants to meet you.” "A-ah right." Luna took her hands off her face, walking awkwardly towards a female who was sitting on a chair. She had white hairs that looked and stylized like an afro, plus her shades really made her look like a professional critic. The fact that she knows very much about fashion strengthened that thought of Luna’s itself.

“Explain yourself.” Strict and straight, probably a little bit harsh.

“Uh.. m-my name is Lu-“ “Alright get her dressed!” Chanelle intercepted Luna with a clap by her hands, simultaneously making her sentence cut and getting all the crew back to work quickly. “Psst! Come here for a while, miss.. uhm.. who was it again?” “It’s Luna.” “Ah right, Miss Luna. Come.” The cameraman directed her to a makeshift wardrobe of some sort, which was filled with dresses.. and some very, very embarrassing outfits that would not be fit to be worn outdoors.

“Give her the signature cloth!” Chanelle ordered from afar, having watching the two ever since she gave her first order. The cameraman obeyed without questioning, digging through the wardrobe for something. Luna gulped, wondering whatever would that famous fashion designer make her wear. Hopefully it would not be something embarrassing.

“Ah, here it is.” The cameraman took out what Chanelle wanted Luna to wear for the photoshoot. At the sight of the piece of clothing, Luna’s face flushed with red, shaking her head as she backed away from the cameraman, rejecting the material.

“T-there is no way I would-!!”

“Why wouldn’t you wear it?” The cameraman looked confused. “Can’t see anything wrong with it.” Luna became redder, gritting her teeth in embarrassment as she tried making her point. “I’ll show you what’s wrong with it-“ Luna took the material from the cameraman, looking slightly annoyed. “It’s a bikini! A leaf-themed one!” The cameraman shrugged. “Well, we are making it eco-friendly..” “B-but it covers me with nothing but three pieces of leaves!”

The cameraman shrugged. Luna shook her head, pushing the leaf bikini onto the cameraman’s chest. The others kept themselves busy with their respective tasks. “Well.. If you won’t wear this.. Then it’ll cause a trouble.” The cameraman stated calmly. It looked like he was the only part of the crew who was not afraid of the fancy Chanelle like the rest of the crew was. “Right. I’ll go ask her.”

Luna waited as the cameraman had a little chat with Chanelle about her hesitance. Chanelle took short glimpses of the maiden a few times as they discussed, and the two were finally done with it as the cameraman went back to get Luna.

Luna gulped, nervous about the decision taken.

“Well, to be honest. Chanelle has another design for that, and this one is better than the last.” “Ugh, you do know I hope it isn’t another bikini consisting of four leafs instead.” The cameraman chuckled, taking it as a joke. “Nah, I’m sure you can afford this one.” Luna waited, the cameraman went back to digging the wardrobe. Strange, if Luna was such making such a fuss for the crew, why didn’t Chanelle get rid of her from the set? She could have just did so, but she didn’t.

“Oh and well, if you’re wondering why she didn’t dispose of you..” the cameraman suddenly stated, surprising Luna. Was he reading her mind? “Anyway, she needed you. In this case, usually it means that Chanelle finds you fitting for her designs.” The cameraman continued, ignoring any assumptions Luna would have on him for his statement.

The cameraman smiled, turning to Luna with a piece of clothing in his hand. “Now, this would be appropriate right?” Luna gasped internally.

“Its.. Its.. Its beautiful!”

“Perfecto! You look beautiful. Only..” Chanelle looked at Luna. She was dressed nicely. The green dress that reached her just below her knees matched the green butterfly brooch on her hair. “What is that pair of wings doing on your back?” Luna became nervous yet again by the straight question, afraid that they will spoil the session.

“W-well.. technically, they are a part of me, so I can get rid of the-“ “Are you crazy!? We’ll need them! Spread them about, my dear!” Luna was quite surprised by the fact that Chanelle found her wings attractive, serving as a nice addition to her beauty. “S-sure..” Luna spread her wings slowly, hoping verily that no one would touch them, whether accidentally or not.

“Alright, you ready, miss?” The cameraman put his camera on standby. Luna stood in front of the lens, on the set with a slight blush on her face. It was embarrassing, having her picture taken and all. But then again, Luna thought she looked nice in the dress, and so decided to go through with the plan and request.

Flashes went through, and the session was finally over. Luna got back into her original attire, and as she handed the dress over to the cameraman, the famous fashion designer put her at halt.

“What do you think you are doing, lady?” Luna gulped, scared of whatever could come from the mid aged fancy woman. “You are keeping that.” “W-wha!? Really!?” Chanelle nodded, smiling as she approached the maiden. “You look so beautiful in that. Keep it. Take it as your bonus. Thank you so much for the.. slightly willed cooperation you gave.” Chanelle was already all packed, and was ready to leave with her crew. "Thanks!"

Luna walked down the path leading back to Magnolia, with the green dress in her bag. Satisfied with her accomplishment, Luna blushed at the remembrance of Chanelle’s complimenting remark.
