Aegiel selected the dirtiest, smelliest, most colorful notice he could find. He was curious as to what kind of jobs they warranted, since he usually picked the neater, more "professional" ones. What he found did not disappoint. "Seven hundred and fifty jewels just to watch over a couple of kids? No problem," he said, tucking the flyer into his jacket pocket. Now all he had to do was meet this Alice, take the kids to an amusement park, and collect his rent money. He walked out with a skip in his step, oblivious to the incredulous stares and muttered whispers behind his back. "How long do you think he'll last?" "Aegiel? Meh, ten bucks says he lasts an hour. He looks tough enough to me." The two whispering mages stared at each other, then broke into guffaws, tears streaming down their faces.
Agiel sneezed as he paid the conductor for his ticket to Peace Town. He gave a proud little smile, "Someone's complimenting me again!" Then he hopped on the train, ready for whatever hell was awaiting him.
