    History

    [spoiler=Her Beginnings]
    Hana Suzuki, born on the 15th of May as the younger of a pair of twins to Takashi Suzuki. Her mother had abandoned her at birth and left to marry her lover from the Magic Council. That was what she'd been raised to think her entire life; that she was the daughter of the man whom she loved and respected so much, to the point where she did everything he wished her to. All to please him, and earn the love that - deep in her heart - she knew she'd never receive.

    In a way, they were related to an extent. But blood was definitely not it, for had she been there when they were born, or remembered her biological parents' faces, she'd know that Takashi had lied to her. She'd know that her real father had been a bright, strong-willed and cheery man. She'd know her kind, loving mother was just as beautiful as she was, and how similar they looked.

    She'd know that they hadn't abandoned her, but instead fought with everything they had to keep her and her sibling, yet lost them.

    [Three years before their birth)
    Suzuki Takashi was a prodigy, a rarity among those of the underworld. He had all the traits that made an excellent leader of criminals. Decisive, ruthless, cunning and merciless. Anything he wanted, he got; through both his wits and brute force. He was a perfect example of how a fine leader in their world should be.

    As the son of the head of a criminal organization, Serpentine, Takashi was raised like a prince, blessed with riches and wealth for generations to come. Despite being the youngest, he was the one his father highly favored, and it was obvious who would be the one to succeed the position of head once his old man retired or passed on. So with that in mind, he was given high expectations, and forced to mature quicker than most children his age. Training was more advanced for him than his brothers, and naturally, he was treated with more respect, and had a higher presence and rank than his brothers, who lived in his shadow for years on end. His brothers of course, jealous as they were, couldn't lay a hand on their precious little brother without a good reason. However, as the years passed, Takashi outshone his brothers, no matter how hard they tried, and it was nearly time for their father's retirement. The successor had been named soon after he turned 18, and the previous Suzuki passed his position on to his youngest child, Takashi.

    No sooner had he taken up the position did his brothers pounce on him, eager to rid of him when their parent had left for his new home. He was chased away from the main estate, sent after him a group of highly skilled bounty hunters, promised a reward of great fortunes. It had been an unfair battle, three fully armed adult men against a lone 18 year old with a handgun and the most basic spells of wind magic. The hand gun provided little help, with there being only 3 bullets in it when he'd been chased out of the estate. The nightlong chase brought them to a cliff side, where the waves raged and crashed against, warning of a possibly nasty storm that night. One of his two remaining pursuers (he'd killed the third and wounded the second) fired into his left shoulder, knocking him off balance and tumbling down the cliff into the sea, just as the wind picked up and rain began to pelt down rapidly. Takashi Suzuki, 18 years of age and 11th leader of Serpentine, was presumed dead the very next day, death caused by an accident and a funeral was conducted three days later. The body had never been found.

    Takashi had been fished out from the sea (much to his dismay) and brought to the home of a fisherman, Malik Zacharias, who watched over him for a few days before having to return to the sea, leaving him in the care of his best friend, Helia Silvergale, a siren who'd escaped her realm during a civil war that left her homeless and far from her parents. She had spent her childhood in an orphanage and met Malik there, whose parents died in a caravan accident when he was seven. They grew up together, eventually becoming the best of friends who lived next to each other when they moved out. Kindness and warmth seemed to just pour out of the stunning carmine-haired woman, and Takashi found himself seeking her warmth out more than he intended to. Love at that time, was an extremely foreign notion, and thus he was terribly frightened. However, as the days he spent with the duo went by, he found himself becoming more... Soft. The pleasant, mellow feeling in his chest grew day by day, and he found himself longing to make the fair, gentle Helia his.

    Takashi was unable to confess to her, recalling that he had his own matters to attend to before that. His position, his status, everything that his brothers had stolen from him had to be taken back. He left as soon as he'd recuperated and was well enough to travel, albeit with regret, but made a vow to return and leave with Helia - to take her away from her peasant life and have her as his queen, like she should be. He returned to the underworld with little trouble, and fought all out to regain his position, afterwards executing his eldest brother, who had instigated the rebellion against him. The remaining two brothers he spared, but they were immediately sent away and forbidden to enter the main house unless called for. They would not be able to receive his position when his retirement came, and neither would their children.

    When all was over, and Takashi's position secured after three years of his ruling, he returned to the little fishing village Malik and Helia resided in, prepared to leave with his beloved. What he had not foreseen, when he left three years ago, was that Malik and Helia, could progress from the best of friends, to the
