Kaseki and His Other Half (Open to all Lamia Scale Members)

"I...I... I... I didn't kill him..."



Kaseki was doing an escort mission the day before. Kaseki was assigned to guard a royal caravan, he found it odd that he, a D-Rank mage, was requested by name to protect high profile personnel. He followed the instructions given to him and found himself at an interesting church-like structure. He approached the large victorian-resembling doors to find his employer. It was an interesting cloak individual, much like Kaseki himself, however the employer did not speak.

"Excuse me, are you Mr..." Kaseki looked at the weather beaten paper for the name. "Mr.Born?" The figure did not speak, but rather the answer came deep within the church. "Kaseki, do not speak to him. He is of no concern to you." A strange suited man unveiled himself from the darkness. "Your job is to escort this caravan to its destination. Understand?" said the man. He was in a royal blue suit, and his face resembled that of a vampire, for it was pale and lifeless. Kaseki wondered what these people want him for. Although he was skeptic, he needed the jewels to buy himself a home, his stump simply wasn't enough. "Yes sir." Kaseki bowed and made his way out of the church.

The cloaked man followed Kaseki out of the doors. Outside the sky was black and full of little lights. "Hmph, I could have sword the great star was out moments ago. No matter..." Kaseki looked behind him to find the eerie an staring back at him. Frightened, Kaseki looked away. He felt as if the mission was not what he thought it would be... and perhaps he was right.

A stagecoach rode up in front of Kaseki. He didn't even see it arriving, nor heard it. It was almost like it simply appeared. "You the Mage that will guide my steeds?" said the man on the stagecoach. Kaseki nodded in reply. The man smiled in return."Hop on, we're in for one hell of a ride Plantman. Heheh."

Kaseki walked in the coach after his hooded client. He sat across from him, watching him. He was becoming uneasy, and he started to get nervous. He sat with his hands folded, and his blade, Khaos, beside him. The moment Kaseki tried to say a word, the man stared daggers at Kaseki and he held onto his words. Then they began to move.

Kaseki found himself sitting in an odd place, across from a mysterious man, being taken by another odd man, who he was hired probably by the same eerie suited man. He had no clue where he was going, nor why or how far. He began to try to ask his client. "So... What's your name, or do you just go by Mr.Born? Kaseki refused to look up at the man, he kept his eyes fixed on the window. "I'm Kaseki, I'm a plant." He still looked outdide, watching the number of people dwindle down. "Um... So what am I protecting you from?" He still received no answer. "That's cool, I like surprises I guess... Um..."

In that moment, they stopped. Kaseki gripped his blade. He knew what it was about. He knew why he was there... all he could see was darkness out of that window. The man across from him leaned toward him. Kaseki looked at his aged hand as it reached for his throat. "You aren't a human... You're the-" The door was opened from the outside and the cloaked man threw Kaseki unto the ground outside.

"Now, Kaseki, if you look around, all you see is this barren wasteland. There is no water for you to use. It's time for you to fight... and perish. Heheheh."

Kaseki watched as the man charged him. His entire being let off a large amount of light.

Kaseki held onto Khaos as he began to step away and dodge. "Please, you don't understand... You'll awaken him. Once he takes over... I... I... Not again..."


Kaseki stumbled as he walked up the marble steps of his home. He ran into the door with the energy he had left. The doors opened and he collapsed onto the floor. "I...I... I... I didn't kill him..." Kaseki lay curled on the white marble floor of the guild... but it wasn't so white anymore.

Kaseki was covered in red, and left a trail from where he walked.

"I didn't kill him...I never killed anyone..." his voice was light, almost a whisper. "I haven't killed anyone..."

Ren let out a shriek that echoed through the halls quite audibly. Ren ran forward but stopped at the edge of the red. "AREYOUOKAYWHATAREYOUSAYINGICAN'TUNDERSTANDWHATYOURSAYINGOHMYGODWHEREISTHEGUILDMASTERTHISIS-" Ren shreiked, blurting all his jumbled thoughts in one strand. He was begging to hyperventilate, he was extremely panicked. He couldn't handle much well, especially something like this. "DOYOUHAVESOMEONEICANGETFORYOUIDONTKNOWWHERETHEGUILDMASTERIS" he continued in his panicked efforts to help.

Kaseki watched the blood drip down his cloak. It was as if his entire being was coated by this liquid. He could feel his mind slipping from reality. There was something about this event that he couldn't grasp. Something wasn't right. Moments before he lost himself... he heard a voice. A voice he never heard before.

"Please, you don't understand... You'll awaken him. Once he takes over... I... I... Not again..." Kaseki begged the man, yet he kept trying to strike down Kaseki. Kaseki felt something strange awaken from deep within himself. It was something that lay asleep for so many years, but would be awoken on that night. The man charged Kaseki for a final time... Then Kaseki snapped.

He gripped his blade tighter than his roots could hold. The blade fractured and shattered. Kaseki's body absorbed the dark material into himself. "Oh no..." he thought, "... He's back..." Kaseki felt his soul being extracted from his body, and soon he saw darkness. Nothing, but pure darkness.

Kaseki wasn't himself.

"...It's... Kodai..." said a weak and frail voice. "AND HOW DARE YOU AWAKEN ME AT A TIME LIKE THIS. The hooded employer sat comfortably within the coach, watching the madness unfold. Meanwhile Kaseki's body was being possessed by a great evil, a darkness sealed within him, the darkness... Kaseki's Evil future, Kodai.

Kodai charged the man and plunged his arm deep within the chest of the man and ripped out his lungs. "SAY MY NAME, PEASANT. HOW DARE YOU AWAKEN ME LIKE THIS, STUCK WITHIN THE BODY OF A WEAKENED SPIRIT." He dropped the lungs onto the dirt and punched through the man's body, this time removing his heart. He raised his arm to the sky and let the blood drip down his limb, pouring it into his own mouth. "HOW I MISS THE TASTE OF BLOOD." He squeezed the organ to make it explode in his hand, casting a red liquid over himself. He then charged his head into the open cavity of the man. He lifted the body with his head inside of him. Kodai began to chew away at the body. "I THINK SOMEONE NEEDS A DIET. WELL AREN'T YOU GLAD I REMOVED A FEW POUNDS FOR YOU. "

He then ripped his head ornament and cast it toward his contractor. "Now, said a refined Kodai " I know who you are.. starts with an L right? What do you want with me?


Kaseki briefly awoke. He slowly opened his eyes to see shoes approaching him. His eyelids fell heavy before he drifted off again. "Brother..." he uttered.

Ren panicked as he appeared to go unconscious. Of course, Ren thought he had died. "OHGODITHINKHESDEADSOMEONEHELPPLEASEWHEREISEVERYONE" Ren continued to scream. Was Ren the only one here? Of all the people, it could have been someone who could handle a situation better. "SIRAREYOUALIVEPLEASEMAKEANOISEIFYOUAREALIVE" Ren screeched as he nudged at the body of the unconscious man with his foot. Ren wasn't exactly the most capable person, and quite honestly he was on the edge of bursting into tears.

Kaseki appeared to be in a daze, while the blonde man was freaking out. Cyrus was alone today, the Venti were not accompanying him, but rather were at a meeting of the four spirits. Cyrus was disappointed that his senior member wasn't handling Kaseki's actions well. Either way it was time for him to step in. "Sir Kaseki, I demand to know what is going on. As far as you Sir Ren, I would appreciate if you pulled yourself together."

Kaseki groaned as Ren nudged him with his foot. His body was limp and lifeless, almost as if he would take his last breath on that marble floor.


"I know who you are.. starts with an L right? What do you want with me?" Kodai asked. He heard his voice begin to fade, and lose its own momentum. Slowly, he knew, he was being cast away back into his darkness. Kodai slipped back into his spirit form and left the body of the plantman, Kaseki was not himself. He looked up to see the soul dissipate into the sky, but Kodai was not lost. Kodai is bound to that body, he may only see through Kaseki's eyes.

"... I... I ... I didn't..." Kaseki staggered back on his feet. As he tripped over a stone and fell onto his back he understood. "Kaseki killed no one... It was Kodai." Kaseki got up and ran from the man and the discarded carcass. He needed help. He needed his family. He needed Lamia Scale.

"Haha, You run now you foolish being, but soon you will be in my grasp!" said the voice. It seemed not to come from the man but rather the trees he ran past.

Kaseki sprinted in and out of the trees, he found himself leaving a trail, staining the trees red. Red. Red was cast all over Fiore. Red. Red was blood.

He dashed through people as they cast eyes upon him, cursing him. They knew of his sin without knowing how he did it. Kaseki was becoming no hero, he was a murderer.

It ran through cities and towns to find his way home. By the time he saw his home, the marble castle, he had no energy left. He was old, aged and weathered. He would die. But that didn't stop him from sprinting up the white steps and into the grand hall. He tackled the door and fell upon the floor.

And behind him was his trail of red.


Kaseki lay lifeless. In this moment he had only two friends with him. A man who he never met before and another that he never talked to.

"HOW AM I GOING TO PULL MYSELF TOGETHER IF HE'S DYING! I CAN'T BE CALM IN THIS SITUATION!" Ren continued to screech. Ren could recognize the small signs of life, but he was still freaked out and over analyzed the entire situation. "HAVE YOU SEEN THE GUILDMASTER?! HE DOES COOL HEALING STUFF! HE CAN HELP RIGHT?!" Ren panicked, kneeling down and pounding on the marble floor. Of course this didn't have an impact, as his arm's were like sticks. "ZUO!? ARE YOU LISTENING DOWN THERE?! WE NEED YOU!" Ren yelled at the floor.

Kaseki groaned and lifted his head just a mere centimeter to adjust himself to Ren. He couldn't make out the person, he just followed the panicked voice. His voice was weak and quite as if from disuse or over use. It was hoarse, yet aged like an old frail man.

"Please... Stop... the hitting... I am... trying to rest..." said the blood covered plant. "I sense... the river runs through you... Perhaps... You can... save me..."

"Oh?" Cyrus perked up. He was still dissapointed in Ren's ridiculous state, but it appeared there was a course of actions they could take to bring their wooden friend back to reality. "Ren, do me a favor and use whatever water spell you have on Kaseki we must keep in mind that plants, even sentient ones need watered every once in a while. Cloud Make: Bullets," he said, firing the small pellets of condensed water at Kaseki, hoping even his water based magic could help out.

"Ehhh?! OKAY OKAY I CAN DO THIS!" Ren encouraged himself. He flicked his wrist and absorbed a few beads of water from the air. "W-where do I put this?" Ren asked, forming the beads together to create a ball just slightly bigger than a marble. "This won't do a lot, and I'm sorry, but I can make more!" Ren attempted to reassure him. "S-so, where are you hurt?"

Kaseki's eyes opened wide upon the closing space between him and the condensed cloud bullets. He smiled. His cloak, something he named Kuiyeoung, his skin, began to part and make circular holes to allow Kaseki's plant body to absorb the non damaging water directly. The threads spun together to repair itself, and Kaseki began to glow. Almost instantly, Kaseki was rejuvenated. He bowed on his knee to his two great comrades. "Thank you Cyrus, Thank you... Ren." Kaseki had never met Ren before, but noted his name from Cyrus's address to him.

Kaseki refused to look up to his Lamia Scale guildmembers. "My apologies... this is all my mess. I'm am truly sorry. I am no hero, I am no better than those of the dark sides. You see, this all began with a job, and one thing led to another and I... I ate a man." Kaseki said it, the words rolled off his leafy tongue.

"I don't deserve to serve beside heroes like you both, fighting for what's right. I do wish I could, but the darkness... the darkness inside of me. That is what I am afraid of. That darkness does not belong here in Lamia Scale, nor Fairy Tail, Blue Pegasus or anywhere... I am no great mage. I am no hero. What hero let's the evil win?"

He stood up, still keeping his eyes away from the Lamia Scale mages.

"I don't belong here with you two, I am below you both."

The Red Cloak:

"There are to be no such thoughts coming from a Lamia Scale mage, past or current!" snapped Cyrus, "Lamia Scale is a guild where heroes are born, not where heroes arrive. Yes, you may have a darkness inside you, but in the end, that can be said for any of us, and we can only progress forwards in the name of our master. By all means do what you need to do, but if you ever leave this place, you may not say that you are below anyone. That is not in the spirit of Lamia Scale."

"Cyrus, you feeble minded individual, you don't understand, do you? Heh heheheh. Kaseki's tone grew hostile, his voice louder and stronger, but sounded like a forced whisper from a dying man. "Poor, weak, and unwise Kaseki is trying to save you. Pity, I thought we were just having fun." Kaseki's arm reached out and his scythe seemed to grow from his palm.

"AHAHAHAHAHA!! NOW LET'S HAVE SOME FUN." Said Kaseki. His voice seemed to reflect and echo through the halls, but a smaller voice was heard, it was faint, weak, and over powered by the first. It whispered: "Help me."

"Cloud Make: Whip," Cyrus said immediately after Kaseki's demonic rant was complete. He restrained his possessed friend with his white strand of clouds. "Whoever you are, Sir Demon, you should realize that the body you're in is that of my friend. You should also realize that the body you're in does not have the magic power to take on Sir Ren and I at the moment. I'd recommend you stand down and explain to us what's going on." As he said this, he looked at Ren, signaling him to prepare to fight. Something wasn't right with Kaseki.

The Reaper:

"My name is Kodai, unlike this body, my name is something that holds a little more meaning. Heh. Kaseki's cloak began to tear where the clouds restrained his body. The bark-like substance that seemed to be Kaseki's skin started to absorb the water from the clouds, slowly, but was absorbing it none the less. It could take a matter of time before Kodai would free himself and execute everyone he could get his hands on.

"You won't hold me for long. Heh. he laughed. Everything seemed to be a joke to him. "You are also humans, yes? I wonder what your blood tastes like. Heheh." Kaseki's face began to smile, his mouth spread and began to rip and tear the material that was wooden, it extended side to side, ear to ear. His eyes looked up at Cyrus, then to Ren. "I like you Mr.Hat." said Kodai as he looked straight at Ren. "You have powers of water, yes? Then I shall kill you first and eat your organs as you bleed out all over this nice white floor. Then I will drink your blood for nourishment. Then I will kill your friend, then the rest of this acursed place. Then when I am done I will find everything else you love and destroy that too. He smiled.

Ren stared blankly for a few moments. Then, he opened his mouth and began to scream. He screamed and began to run. He ran as far as he could until he hit the back wall of the guild. He felt like he couldn't breathe he was so terrified. He continued to scream, taking only brief pauses to breath. He turned around and shut his eyes tight. Then he screamed "WINGS OF LOVE!" in a desperate attempt to protect himself. The jet of water burst out of its circle, shoving Ren against the wall, and blasting its way to Kodai. Ren kept his eyes tightly shut, and possessed no desire to open them.

Kodai smiled as the water splashed his body. It didn't seem to inflict any damage, but rather tick off the already angered spirt "Now I'm no slayer, but I don't think any of your water spells will work on me. You might as well release me and let me take your souls quickly. I promise, I won't make a big mess. Heheh."

It was reaching time before Kodai would free himself from his hold. Only a matter of time...

But could the hold last long enough for Zuo to rescue Kaseki, or for Kodai to tire and leave Kaseki's body?

Aegiel couldn't believe his eyes. Lamia Scale members...fighting? He could swear that was a strictly Fairy-Tail-thing. He seized up the situation in a flash; Kaseki was either possessed or in a very bad mood, the white-haired water-mage was in no position to use his magic on the plant-man, and the other guy... Aegiel looked at him doubtfully. Then he snapped his fingers, A strategic retreat! That must be it. Aegiel shook his head at his own foolishness. Lamia Scale guild members, cowards? Never! Aegiel watched the scene unfold, and his eyes practically popped out of his head when he heard Kaseki threaten to eat the white-haired mage's soul. 

It was time for him to act. Aegiel relished the thought of what was to come. He specialized in bringing matches to a stalemate, and that was exactly what he was aiming to do. Aegiel sprinted towards the still-recovering Kaseki in what he hoped was the plant-man's blind spot. Upon reaching him, Aegiel would grab his wrist and cast Bound By Fate instantly, temporarily cutting both of them off from their magic. And hopefully releasing him from the possession, he thought. Too late, Aegiel realized that if Kaseki was more powerful than Aegiel expected, he was going to be in for a nasty surprise.

Kihia had been resting, he had recently came back from an important mission that Master Zuo had sent him on when he was woken up by the racket in the guild hall. He had walked to the end of the hallway that came from the dormitories and was even more so ticked off with what he saw. Kaseki...was threatening to kill everyone...

(OOC Note: You will feel the air begin to get very very cold)

Kihia placed one end of Icarus one inch over the floor, and said "Ice...make...terrain..." Kihia watched as the entire floor of the guildhall froze over from his spell, without wasting a second he placed his hands on the floor and channeled his magical power into the ice, focusing it around Kaseki. "Ice...Make...Spear Trap..." Kihia watched as the ice spikes formed around Kaseki completely penning him. Kihia then walked out of the shadow of the hallway and stood in front of Kaseki, he pointed one end of Icarus at Kaseki, "Trees don't do well in freezing cold temperatures...especially when they have absorbed a fair amount of water... Now explain yourself!!" Kihia said this with absolute anger in his cold eyes, No one...hurts my guild...unless they go through me....

Kaseki's body became lifeless, frozen in Kihia's ice prison. "Kihia..." A puff of white fog fell from his mouth. "...P-P-Please... I had no intentions..." Kaseki pleaded for his friend's understanding. "He... He controls me.." Kaseki told them. He looked around for help, dodging the eyes of his family. Kaseki felt like a monster, and in a way, he was.

".. And why don't we have some fun?" Echoed Kaseki.

"No... This can't be happening." Kaseki thought, "They'll kill me, because of Kodai..."

Aegiel was...more than a little disgruntled, to say the least. Not only had Kihia (whom Aegiel had begun to think of as The Grumpy Ice Mage) completely cut him off mid-charge, but Aegiel had slipped on the now-icy floor, resulting in a rather nasty bump on the back of his head. Groaning, he propped himself of and glared at the ice mage through watery eyes. "You," he growled, "What do you think your doing?" Seniority be damned. He'd never seen Kihia do a thing except snarl at people, and it was finally getting to him. Aegiel wobbled to his feet, turning his murdurous glare on the quivering plant-man. "And you! No member of Lamia Scale is so weak as to let themselves be possessed by some no-good demon! Hurry up and drive it out already!"

Kaseki let his head hang. "You don't understand. Kodai... he's no demon. He's me."

He growled and snarled at Aegiel, "Ha! You make me out to a demon? A curse? You make me laugh, human! You wantto know what I am? I was once this man, this spirit. What made , me? A death, my first kill! The glorious rain of blood! How his throat made a  fountain! Why I am Kaseki, the matured Kaseki! I am Kodai!! The son of Death, the Demon of Life!!"

Aegiel eyed...Kodai...apprehensively. "Kaseki. Kaseki, how do we drive out Kodai? We need to know!" He really didn't want to resort to having to beat the "Demon of Life" out of Kaseki's injured plant body, but at this point, he didn't have much of an option. Meep slithered quietly under Aegiel's tee, sensing that danger was imminent.

Ren was crying. His emotional control was as strong as a thin stick, easy to break. He was terrified more then anything, and slightly angry. Of course, this was how he normally felt. He had to act however, even if it wasn't much. He began to scream again, but this time ran forward. He ran until he slipped on the ice of course. He almost had his teeth broken, and he had forgotten what he was planning to do. His forehead hurt though. He lifted up his head and saw he had barely gotten anywhere. He let out a frustrated sigh and made attempts to stand up, but just kept falling over. This was going to take awhile.

Cyrus sighed as Ren continued to make a fool out of himself. Yup, Lamia Scale sure is interesting, he thought to himself as he formed another spell in his hand, "Cloud Make: Hand Cannon," he said as the weapon formed in his hand. "I don't plan on blowing Kaseki to bits, but I'm prepared to fight if you decide to try anything tricky demon. Keep in mind your facing three members of Lamia Scale, two of which are at higher ranks than the mage which you are possessing. I will do whatever it takes to pry you from Kaseki and free him from your grasp."
