A Mysterious Package [closed]

The young nature fairy twirled happily into her office while carrying several packages and important looking letters inside. She hummed cheerfully to herself as she set them down on her desk. She had woken up feeling a burst of energy and a good feeling that today was going to be a good day. Hopefully, the feeling wouldn't disappear. Yuna then walked towards the large windows that decorated her office and, after opening them up a bit, she made her way back to her desk and took a seat. Still humming softly to herself, she browsed through everything, starting with the boxes. Yuna took a small box from the pile and picked up the letter that came along with it. She began to read it and frowned slightly to herself. The small GM reached over to the speaker. "Can John, Lina, Arianna, and Vivian come to the office please?" She looked back at the paper and frowned. Only their names appeared with no instructions nor words of greeting. She just hoped they'd get to the office rapidly.

Lina was sitting at one of the long tables chatting with her fellow guildmates until she heard the guildmaster's intercom turn on, she narrowed her eyes in suspicion at having all these names called at once. she stood up and said bye to the people she was talking to as she arrived in yuna's office. she creaked the door open as she welcomed her in. she stood with her hands clasped in her lap as she stood and waited for the others to arrive.

Arianna had finally gotten herself nice and comfy in a seat at her guild, with a plate of her favorite sweets; a nice large piece of strawberry short cake with a fork stuck in the top. Setting it down, she hummed to herself quietly as she fidgeted around, getting herself just right before she would enjoy herself. Sitting in her usual attire of her cloak, she pulled down the hood and pulled the fork out of the cake and eye balled the slice, licking her lips as she sliced in. Just as she lifted the piece up to her mouth, the sudden noise of the intercom made her jump slightly and drop her first bite of cake on the floor.

Groaning, Arianna stood up from her chair. She was already a little peeved that she just had to waste the first bite of a delicious cake from the best bakery in town, and now she had to wait even longer to eat it since the guild master ordered her to the office. Picking up her precious piece of cake, not trusting anyone to leave it alone, she quickly made her way to the office with a small flare in her eyes from being interrupted from her lunch.

Bursting into the office, she quickly looked around at the other guild member, another one that was called there as well, and the guild master sitting behind her desk, happy as always. Taking a seat she sat her piece of cake down with a pout on her face, waiting for what ever it was she was called for.

John was sitting down in the main hall of the Nox Animus guild hall, sitting by his normal table close to the wall with a whiskey bottle at the table and a glass with whiskey in his hand which he sipped on from time to time. As some speakers above him crackled briefly and the Guild Master's voice echoed out into the air within the hall.

He heard Yuna call for him to go up to her office along with Lina, Arianna and Vivian. She didn't seem so happy but he didn't really care. John finished his whiskey glass and stood up, he moved through the halls and looked around as he approached the office. Pushing up the door John walked in and looked at the two already in besides Yuna. He took out a small metal container and opened it, taking a sip from it and then putting it inside his cloak again.

"Hmm?"

Vi was wandering through the halls in the general direction of her room when Yuna's voice echoed throughout the Noximus, calling her along with several others. "What is it this time?" She grumbled; she had been looking forward to a little bit of rest before her next job. "Oh, s-stop whining," Vivian replied in their mind. "She's the g-Guildmaster, remember? She c-can call us whenever she w-wants."
"Whatever," Vi responded, still not happy about the interruption. "I hope it's fast." She pivoted on her right foot and stomped towards Yuna's office. She was there quickly, all but flinging open the door to walk in. As it turned out, she was the last to arrive; she nodded tersely at everybody in the room before taking her place in line. "What do you need?" She grumbled.

Yuna tilted her head curiously at Vivian before looking at all the mages she had called. She knew that she had disrupted their evening yet, although she was sorry for it, she was burning with curiosity about the mysterious package and so she had sent for them immediately. "I-I was hoping that you could all help me with s-something..." She said as she placed the letter on the desk for all of them to see. The paper was nothing more than a simple white paper with all their names printed on it with golden font. "Th-this arrived today along with this package..." She then handed the small, unopened box to Lina as she was closest to her. Yuna hadn't opened the box as she had been waiting for everyone to gather around and now that everyone was here, she beckoned for Lina to open it. A feeling of uneasiness befell Yuna for who sent packages like this? Still, her curiosity got the better of her and so she waited patiently for Lina to open it.

Lina looked at the box Yuna handed to her. she looked at the gold writing. seeing everyone was looking at her. expecting her to open it, "here goes nothing.." she sighed, starting to open the small box. she looked inside for a second, not seeing anything and watching everyone else start to close in wanting to see what was inside. a small light came out of it, then it flew into the middle of the room and poofed into the air.

but then Arianna and Yuna poofed too, turning into little trails of mist flying around the room. Arianna's was on a collision course with her face, it smacked her in the dead in the face sending her flying back onto the floor. Arianna's shortcake falling on the floor from where she placed it still settled on its plate, Lina sat up and started coughing for a second, seeing John was on the floor as well. Vivian looking around all confused, but Arianna and Yuna were no where to be found.

As the last of the guild members arrived, Arianna's curiosity began to raise. She hadn't the slightest idea what she was doing there, or why anyone of them were doing there. All she could see was some boxes sitting on the guild master's desk. There was one that looked like it was taken from the pile and set aside, but she didn't think much more about it until Yuna suddenly picked it up and handed it to Lina.

Arianna rolled her eyes at first, thinking that this was ridiculous; however, Arianna couldn't help but wonder what was inside as well. She raised up out of her seat and slowly placed herself in a position to see what was inside of the box. The tension in the air went flat as it appeared that nothing was inside. Letting out an annoyed sigh, she turned around to pick up her desert and be on her way. Her plan was quickly squashed when suddenly there was a bright light that stopped her in her tracks. Turning around, she was just able to catch a glimpse of an orb of light that disappeared without a trace.

"What in the wor-" Arianna's sentence was cut short as she suddenly felt incredibly light headed. She felt like she was about to fall over, attempting to place a hand on her head, but couldn't even move. Her vision blurred as she felt like she was falling. She felt dizzy by the time she finally started to come around, oddly enough facing in the opposite direction she felt like she feel, and barely felt like she had willed herself to move.

Shrugging it off, she attempted to get herself up off the floor, but couldn't seem to move. 'Come on, move dang it, move!' She pressed her, feeling a little mental strain to get herself to move when she suddenly felt her nerves kick back in. She figured it was just from the fall as she slowly moved herself up to her feet. Eyeing her piece of cake, she sighed in relief that it was alright on the floor, picking it up. After everything that had happen, she figured she'd at least have herself one bite. Stabbing the fork into the pinkish frosting, she slowly brought it up to her mouth, taking a small bite to enjoy the taste for as long as she could.

John looked at the letter from afar, it seemed to have writing on it, probably their names or something like that. He sipped his whiskey and put away the metal container as Yuna handed the letter to the girl named Lina, he kept his eyes on the letter as she opened. A small orb of light appeared then moved to the middle of the room, he tilted his head as it disappeared along with Arianna and the guild Master.

His legs weakened and the room slowly began to spin more and more as he stumbled around before crashing down onto the floor. He blinked and looked around as he saw Lina on the floor, he blinked and wondered if it had been a trick of sorts but Yuna and Arianna was missing. He found it rather difficult to move his limbs but he managed to move around so he could push up from the floor, still a bit dizzy he swayed slightly as he stood up. Looking around he couldn't see Arianna or Yuna but Lina was still here.

He kept scanning the room for any signs of the guild master and the other guild member but he couldn't see them, yet he had a strange feeling the Guild master was around somewhere.

Vi jumped back a bit as the orb of light appeared, caution on her features. "Vivian, what in the world is that?" She asked the original personality through the mindspace, keeping a safe distance from it as it moved. "I-I'm not sure," Vivian replied, peering at it inquisitively.
"What do you mean you're not sure?!" Vi replied exasperatedly. "You're the magic geek! You're supposed to know these things!"
"M-magic is a v-volatile thing," Vivian shot back in a rare moment of hardness. "Y-you can study m-magic for years and barely s-scratch the surface."
Vi began to fire a response back, but her attention was grabbed by the sudden disappearance of Arianna and Yuna, and the 'mist' left behind wandering into the bodies of the two others present. Vi leapt back genuinely this time, putting as much room between her and the two remaining members just to be safe. "What the hell just happened?!" she exclaimed, looking between John and Lina as the latter began eating Arianna's cake. "Why are you both acting nonchalantly? Our Guild Master just vanished!"

A dizzying sensation overcame the fairy as soon as Lina opened the mysterious box. Yuna could barely catch a glimpse of the orb of light that appeared from the box and had begun to circle itself around her and Arianna before she collapsed. Yet, she never seemed to made it to the floor. Instead, her body seemed to vanish as if she had activated her lineage before blacking out.

After what seemed like an eternity, she finally was able to open her eyes. Blinking a few times, she came face to face in what seemed a fiery, black inferno. A cold shiver of fear ran through her spine as she stood up and forced herself to walk through the flaming infero. Yuna trembled in both fear and cold despite the heat radiating from the black flames. "Wh-where am I..?" she squeaked. Her voice echoed through the barren place. "H-Hello..?"

A minute later, a sort of crazed laugh greeted in turn. Its voice echoing through the place. "My dear Yuna~" A familiar female voice laughed gleefully, "It has certainly been quite some time since we last met~" Despite not seeing who it was, Yuna could almost feel the woman smile a devilish smile. "Rh-Rhodes..!" Yuna called out towards her Edolas counterpart. "Where are you? H-How...?" Rhodes stepped out of the flames as a smirk decorated her face. Yuna's eyes widened as a much older, taller version of herself appeared from the black fire. "I simply hitched a ride, my dear. I've already made my mark in Edolas so why not make it here as well?"

The tall woman neared her. Her body seemed to sway like the inky black flames. "Plus, you seemed to need my help, you helpless creature. I only wish to offer my assistance~" Yuna stood still as her mind and heart raced. Rhodes had been with her all along? How was it possible if..? "S-Since Edolas..? B-But that was-" "Three years ago?" Finished Rhodes, "Why yes. I've only kept my presence hidden until I was strong enough to gain control and the upperhand. But it appears your mysterious package got in the ways of my plans." Rhodes's smirk turned to that of a sincere smile. Rhodes was a very complicated woman. One never could tell what she was plotting let alone thinking. "You need me, but that does not mean I will go easy on you."

Yuna sighed and nodded as Rhodes patted her head. Yuna neither distrusted nor trusted the assassin yet she held an admiration to her. Edolas had been quite an interesting experience on both their parts. They had grown to respect each other through the obstacles they both had faced although they held very different ideals. "Where am I?" Yuna asked Rhodes. Rhodes simply shrugged. "Inside someone's mind. You've found their inner source of power. I suspect it to be the shadow mage, Walker. His fountain of power lies here." It was then that Vivian's voice echoed down to them. It was accusing yet filled with concern. Rhodes smiled and walked backwards into the flames. She seemed to merge into them. "Come. Let us see what is going on..."
