Personality Outside Combat: To define Alyssa in a single word, the best one to use would be “carefree”. Equally happy to lead or to follow, she simply wanders the road that lies ahead with unquestioning resolve. Some might call her an idiot; she doesn't see danger, only something to surpass or to defeat. She sees neither good nor evil, judging people solely on their own merits. This “if you lead, I'll follow” mentality could be considered as both a positive and a negative trait. Alyssa is easy to manipulate, but once she's been unleashed, she flies wherever she chooses. An arrow with a mind of its own.
One of her most notable flaws has to be that she cares too much. For her allies, that can be seen as a good thing, but when it reaches the point that she wishes to make sure their foes will be alright, it can surely become troublesome. In keeping with her carefree way of life, Alyssa has thus far survived by being frugal with what little wealth she has. Her travels take her far and wide, and the odd jobs at various stopping points keep food in her belly and a smile on her face.
Speaking of her smile, it's infectious. It, along with a cheerful outlook that could threaten to dispel the darkest depths of hell with brightness, keeps her going. Despite her simple demeanour, she has a keen mind and possesses a fierce intelligence that allows her to improvise, in the event she blunders her way into a poor situation. With that said, she often tries to weasel her way out of fighting, especially if she finds herself in close proximity to the enemy, as she lacks the physical strength to go toe-to-toe with others.
Personality Inside Combat: “Combat” is a poor word to describe the way Alyssa fights, as her primary choice is to do it as far away from the enemy as possible. Peppering them with arrows, luring them into traps prepared beforehand, these are where she excels in battle. From long range she picks out the most devastating of targets and rains attacks down upon them. This of course makes her a poor choice for anything that would put her in a closed space, sapping her potential and effectively making her into nothing more than cannon fodder for her foes.
Of course, that isn't to say she's entirely helpless without access to her bow, but it is wise for anyone who commanded her to play to the plucky archer's strengths. In an attempt to cover for this glaring weakness however, Alyssa attempted to learn some basic hand-to-hand skills. A combination of years of archery training and an old wound prevented her from getting much further than novice level, but every little helps, right?
Her ability to lead is questionable at best, a fault of her relaxed, laid-back demeanour. Her “whatever happens, happens” outlook doesn't do much to inspire her companions to action, and her grasp of tactics ends at “hit it until it stops moving”. As a result of this, making Alyssa the leader for anything more important than... well, anything, is a bad idea.

- Nature – For a hunter, listening to the ebb and flow of the world around you is one of the most important aspects of the trade. For Alyssa, there's nothing better than closing your eyes and hearing the sounds of a thousand lives carrying on around you.
- Fair work, fair pay – The satisfaction of knowing you've earned your keep. It's a feeling of empowerment, knowing that hard work has been rewarded.
- Sweets – They're unhealthy and overly fattening, but even so they're a girl's best friend.
Dislikes:
- Needless destruction – The antithesis of her love of nature. Seeing countless innocent creatures forced to leave their homes is painful.
- Small, cramped spaces – In her youth, she stowed away on a ship, hiding inside an empty barrel. It was inside that barrel that she discovered that claustrophobia existed.
- Fish – They smell awful and taste worse.
Motivations:
- Wanderlust – She just wants to travel, to see new things and experience new events.
- A place to return to – Cliché, but once she's seen everything the world has to offer her, she hopes that one of them is somewhere worth staying.
- Self-improvement – It's a bit of a cop-out, but becoming more skilled is the driving force behind just about everyone, isn't it?
Fears:
- Harsh weather and/or natural disaster – From thunderstorms to blizzards, earthquakes to volcanic eruptions, Alyssa is terrified of them. Nature's unbridled rage goes a long way, especially for somebody so attuned to it.
- Immobilization – Small spaces are one thing, but having your movement restricted entirely does nothing good to her frame of mind.
- Loss – She lost everything, once. The very thought of it happening again shakes her to her core.
