A Wizard's Grace (Rose Thorn)

As Rose neared Beanstalk Village in the heat of the day she could feel the disturbance of the villagers. It was emanating from the village like a cloud of darkness enveloping anyone who came near.

Once inside the village gates Rose was mobbed by the villagers. “Are you the wizard who will help us?” “Help us… please!” the villagers cried. “Everyone, please, calm down. My name’s Rose Thorn and I’m the wizard who was sent to help you guys with your crop problem.” Rose assured. “So what exactly is going on with your crops?” she asked.
A village elder slowly walked up to Rose. “Our crops have been cursed and are all dying. Please help us. No one in the village has been able to do anything about it. Even the village shaman can do nothing to cleanse the evil that has descended upon our crops.”

Rose started to assure the villagers, “It will be alright. I’ll get rid of your curse problem. I need a few minutes to prepare though.” Rose walked off to a remote corner of the village and started to formulate a plan based on the spells she had mastered. “I can do wave, firebolt, sword, and shield. Ugh none of those can break curses. Guess I’ll have to wing it,” she said to herself.

“Okay,” Rose said walking back to the chief, “I’m ready.” The chief silently led Rose to where the fields began. Once they had reached the field she started to pool her magic energy into her fingertips.

'Monster Dice' :

As Rose started to pool magic in her fingertips the plants roared to life. A strange glow erupted from the plants that enveloped the entire field. The color of the light was impossible to determine as it was so bright. As the light started to dim down, Rose could tell that the light was a pale green, like that of a demon summoning spell. Brushing off her thought about the demon spell, Rose continued to pool magical energy into her fingertips.

Once the light had completely dimmed down, Rose realized that her worst fears for the situation had come true. The crop wasn’t cursed… the crop was made of plant demons. What type of plant demons she wasn’t sure yet, her eyes were still adjusting. As Rose’s vision came back to her she could see that they were Corn Plant Demons, 5 in all.

The Corn Plants were one unit, moving only as a group. “Your corn silk looks so nice today!” “I know right?!” The little demon’s sounded like an off-pitch cheerleading squad, it was starting to make Rose infuriated. Then the demons noticed her standing at the edge of the field, so that’s what woke them up.
Rose got her first spell ready, Wave.

The Corn Demon’s started to charge at Rose. They moved in an arrowhead formation with the largest at the front of the arrow. As soon as they were about to hit Rose she quickly wrote Wave in the air directly before her face. “Wave!” As soon as the word was finished a wave with immense power started to crash out from around Rose’s feet. The waves rolled out from her like a flag in a tornado, cresting and breaking with violent force. The waves swept the Demons up and washed them 10 feet back into the field. Due to their unique body shape most of them were able float.

All except for one of the Demons survived the attack that was meant to drown them. Now that her opponents were down to four Rose was feeling a lot more confident. As Rose was assessing the situation she realized that there was a scythe nearby that she could use in case her magic power started to drop too low or all of her spells are unable to fire off. Noticing the scythe gave her a tactical advantage. This allowed her to be able to use her spells whenever and however she needed to.

The Cob Demons were getting back on their feet and preparing to attack.

After getting hit with the wave, the Demons broke their formation. They started to come at Rose from all directions as she lunged for the scythe. The Corn Demons jumped into the air and flopped straight down onto Rose’s head making her miss as she swung out with the scythe. After Rose stood back up she lashed out with the scythe biting into the sides of two of the infernal demons before being deflected by a swift movement from one of the Cobs. Man, these Demons were annoying, spouting off about their fashion, “OMG she cut off some of your kernels Cobbins!” “No she didn… Oh my God! She… she… she actually cut them off! She’s so gonna get it!”

While the insufferable Demons started to prepare for another attack, Rose formulated her plan of attack. She could use her Firebolt, but if she missed she could destroy the entire town. There was no reason for her to use Sword since she had the scythe from the fields. Oh what to do… what to do? Rose finally decided to try and risk the Firebolt spell when the Demons had mucked up the courage to charge at the excited Blue Pegasus mage.
