Clara was raised in a normal family. She didn't live in a house that was practically a castle nor did she live in a small cottage. She had an easy going life but she wasn't spoiled, and she was almost able to do anything she wanted.
almost.
She wanted to practice and use her magic ever since she read an issue of the sorcerer weekly for the first time. She could if she really wanted to but then she would be disobeying her parents. Her parents considered magic a sin, but the only thing worse than magic for them was guilds.
Her own sister, Kira, was killed by guild wizards when she was only seven years old.
Clara hated magic too, or at least she wanted to. But she just couldn't hate something that brought so much peace to most people. She never wanted to use her magic to threat or injure people for her own little games or for her own selfish needs or wants. She decided to use her magic to protect people.
She knew her parents were wrong about magic being evil, and if they wouldn't listen to most people then Clara would force them to listen to her.
There was just one problem however.
She didn't know what magic she had.
But she just knew she had some magic, she could feel it in her veins. Clara spent three years trying to find her unknown magic. She tried dragon-slayer magic first, but that backfired, then she tried animal spirit magic but that backfired too. Spell after spell, she just couldn't master anything or even learn anything. Every magic she tried didn't feel right.
So she simply gave up at the age of ten.
She tried resuming her life as a normal girl. She had two annoying brothers to take care of (even though they were older than her they sure didn't act like it), a lazy father, a busy mother, her own kitten, her brother's dogs and of course the house. Every magic she tried didn't seem right, but neither did staying at home like a normal girl. But her life was far too busy as it was so she just said "Who cares about magic? I got other things to worry about."
But one day when Clara was thirteen she got in a heated argument with both of her brothers, Roy and sabastian, and stormed out of the house. She decided to take both of the dogs, Hunter and Diva, for a walk in the nearby forest. Before something silver caught her eye. The silver object was in a nearby bush beside the trail. Curious, Clara had walked to the object and picked it up, discovering the fact that it was a key. She was about to throw it away before the key became warm and a person appeared in a twirl of silver light.
The only word Clara could use to describe the person was "strange".
Who the heck has ears like a bear on top of their head, long dark blue hair, and a skirt, boots and tight sweater that appeared to be made out of brown fur? The small round tail on their rear and long black nails didn't really make this person seem normal either. Heck the only features of her that showed she was a human was her figure, the skin under her clothes, and her brown eyes.
After a loud scream, barking and then a quick chat, Clara found out this person was a spirit named "Ursa minor". All Ursa minor told Clara about herself was two things. First of all, the girl's original master had broken the contract and threw her key. Second of all, she was looking for a new master.
Ursa minor told Clara that she knew she was a celestial mage. Clara didn't really figure out how she knew but it seemed to be the only explanation of why Clara had magic and why she couldn't find out what her magic power really was.
Clara quickly made a contract with the stranger before the stranger returned to her key and Clara hurried home.
She never told her family about the spirit though, she would just have to rely on her dogs to keep a secret, but they couldn't talk anyways.
A year passed and Clara would leave the house every day and head to the forest to summon Ursa minor and chat with her. Ursa minor was nice and all but she also seemed short-tempered, but she was easy to get along with. Also Clara didn't completely know how to keep her spirit out most of the time and accidently closed Ursa Minor's gate time to time, and most of the time she couldn't even summon her.
but exactly one year later, when Clara was spending the entire day with her best friend to celebrate their "friendship anniversary", her village was attacked by dark guild wizards. She had returned home to find her house burnt down to the ground, and she could barely recognize it. Her parents were both dead, her father burned and her mother stabbed. She didn't find her brothers bodies but she did find foot prints and paw prints leading out of the village. The only living thing left was her cat, which was stuck in a tree, and her.
None of this would of happened if the guild the towns people had called arrived on time, but they were too late.
Clara stayed at her destroyed house for two days before she had decided it was time to move on. She searched around the house and found some useful items. A filled water bottle, cat food and a cat bowl in her ruined kitchen, a chocolate bar in her dad's destroyed desk, and a blue skirt and blue shirt (that only had one sleeve) in her room. Clara left her town and travelled from town to town, trying to find a place to stay.
Or more importantly, a good guild.
Clara still hadn't convinced her parents that not all magic was bad, so she would still try to convince them wherever they were now.
another two years passed, she had learned how to take care of herself by now. She ended up in a town called Hargeon. She was about to leave the town before she heard the sound of yelling. Rushing towards the loud sound, Clara saw four wizards fighting a wyvern. One had pink hair like her, another had red hair that same color of blood, one had raven hair and the last one had golden hair.
She didn't know why one of them was shirtless and why they were fighting but a few things caught her blue eyes. First of all, they all had marks of fairies on them, second of all the pink haired one looked slightly cute, third of all they were all using magic, and fourth of all the golden haired girl was using celestial magic.
She knew exactly who these wizards were! Well she didn't know their names but she knew them! They all belonged to the fairy tail guild! If she could convince them to let her join then she would be able to prove her parents wrong! So she immediately hatched a plan.
She could show them she was talented!
Clara summoned Ursa Minor and watched her leap into battle. The first four wizards looked confused at first but quickly snapped out of it. The man with pink hair finished the creature off easily, but at least Clara was able to help!
Clara walked up to the four and closed the gate. The girl with sunshine hair and the girl with red hair thanked her but the other two simply ignored her as they broke into a fight.
Clara asked if she could join the guild and the girls nodded and told her "The more the better."
Clara told the girl with sunshine hair that she wasn't a trained celestial mage and asked if maybe she could help her. The girl nodded and introduced herself as Lucy.
a few days passed and Clara was already used to the wizards in fairytail. She didn't join Lucy's team because she wanted to make her own. Also Clara had a small crush on Natsu, but it seemed like he was more fond of Lucy so Clara gave up on the dragon slayer.
Clara got her own place and went on some missions by herself and got money to pay for both the rent, and her and her cat's food.
She never really decided on what would happen next, but she didn't really care.
She would cherish her memories of her family, and dream her tomorrow's. But most importantly, she would live her todays.
almost.
