For three years August had traveled around Earthland, he had seen some of the most wonderful places around. But also some of the most terrifying ones. He had seen what creatures laid extinct under the ice of the country of Iceberg. Their bodies fully intact. Creatures he'd never seen before. He'd also had walked through the scorching deserts of Desierto, where things happened that he never could explain. However all this was not as terrifying as the gloomy and dark view he saw when he stood on the walls of Pergrande. The long wall that overlooked the realm called Sin, even though he couldn't see it's landscaped through the grim mountains that creeped against the great wall. He'd could still sense the evil that slumbered in that place. Well not actually sense it as he could sense other mages or something, but it was just something that his guts told him.
Since his return to Fairy Tail this thought kept haunted him. It made him think more about his surrounding and the safety of those around him. The innocent people, those who couldn't defend himself. The ones that lived a life without the convenience of magic. They needed to be protected, against those who would do harm against the world.
Something he couldn't achieve if he stayed with Fairy Tail. Sure the guild protected those in need, and always stood for what was right. Hell they probably would all fight them selves to death if it would give one poor starving family a meal for one day. But that was just it, there was no order. Not like the Magic Council and their systems, even though they might have failed in the past they were still standing for the protection of every citizen in Fiore.
No he knew that he could only pursue his life if he left Fairy Tail and joined up with Council or maybe the Kingdom itself.
With that as his final thought, he'd walked out of the door of Fairy Tail. Just like he did three years ago when he started to travel. Without saying word of goodbye, or saying farewell to his comrades. After it wasn't needed, because even if he was leaving the guild. He wasn't leaving Fairy Tail in his heart, because he knew when it all comes down to it he would always stand with his brothers and sisters, just as they would stand with him.
It was just that he couldn't protect the people here as he wanted it.
