A Wrath Like No Other! (Talen and kyoniking)

Talen walked through the streets of Hargeon with Quincy , another member of team Serpent Soul, as the two of them worked on what, to Talen, seemed like a strange mission. They had to purchase a gem for a Mr. Anthony Spiff and make it into a piece of jewelry for his wife. He had forgotten about his anniversary and wanted mages to find a gift for his wife. Talen looked at the outside of what appeared to be a fancy jewelry store called "Enid's Jewelry". It was apparently well known for having the highest quality exotic gems in Fiore. Talen pushed open the door, hearing a quiet ding sound of a small bell. He looked around that ornate room feeling somewhat out of place. He had never been inside a store like this growing up and he felt out of place. Talen briefly looked around the store before returning to Quincy's side. "What do you think we should get?" Talen asked, "I don't really know anything about jewelry."

Quincy was glad Talen brought her with him to help with a mission. The best kind of mission too! One where they had to buy jewelry for somebody. She really didn't care why they had to get jewelry but she loved dressing up in jewels. "Hmm lets see, first we need to see what kind of gem we want and then find what kind of piece it goes with." She stared at the rows upon rows of jewels. They sparkled brilliantly with the midday light. They just let her get lost in the world of shiny gems and other valuables. They were so pretty it was pretty hard to decide. She asked the cashier if she could hold onto a few pieces to compare with Talen. "So alright we have three pieces to choose from, that I like at least. Which one of these do you like most?" She held out her hands with a bright amethyst, a crimson garnet and a dark emerald that reflected brightly for its darker shade.

Talen looked at the three jewels Quincy presented. There was a red garnet, violet amethyst, and a green emerald.

Talen looked at the garnet first. It had a fiery brilliance to it. The way that the light shown through all the different facets made the gem look like there was a fire blazing inside of it. Talen liked the way that this one shown, however Talen thought that the garnet was a bit to small for an anniversary gift. In the end he decided that they should not use that gem.

Talen now looked at the amethyst. To Talen the gemstone almost looked like a starry evening sky. The way the light sparkled inside of it was entrancing. The lights inside of the gem shifted constantly and never seemed to stop. As Talen continued to inspect the gem, he noticed that there were a few small defects in it. This was enough for Talen to say that he did not want to use this jewel either.

Lastly, Talen looked at the emerald. The emerald had a deep, cool look to it. The jewel made him feel like he was standing in a dark pleasant forest just by staring at it. Unlike the others, there was not a brilliant shine or dancing sparkles, just a beautiful jewel that seemed to glow with an inner light.

Talen turned to Quincy and pointed to the emerald, saying "I like that one."
