As Talen walked toward the Beanstalk village, the first thing that he saw was what the village was named for, an enormous beanstalk that towered over even the clouds. Talen had seen the beanstalk about an hour before the rest of the village came into sight. When Talen reached the village he was greeted by the man that he assumed to be the village elder. He welcomed Talen in a voice that reminded him of Zuo Ci, his guild master, "Welcome to our humble village. We are so grateful that you could come and help us." "It's no problem at all." Talen said with a smile, "I always like to help out." The real reason that Talen had decided to take this mission was because is was supposed to be simply helping the local farmers with a few problems they were having getting their plants to grow. After his last mission where he had been hit by a card from Melissa, Talen needed a nice and quiet mission.
The elder Talen through the village, and to the crop fields on the far side. When they reached the fields, Talen felt a very strange presence. it was like he was feeling the magical energy of a dark mage, but all around him. Talen nervously looked over his shoulder, trying to find the source. "Is everything alright?" the elder asked. "I'm... not sure" Talen said, "I feel a strange energy, but I'm not sure where it is coming from." "Could that be causing the crops to die?" the elder asked. "Maybe," Talen said with uncertainty. Out the corner of his eye, Talen saw movement and tensed up, unsure of who or that it was.
