A Wizards Grace!(Kihia)

Kihia was walking on a forest trail heading to Beanstalk village, he had accepted a job that said that the crops there were being afflicted by a mysterious affliction possibly magic related. He sighed, he was almost to the village, it’s not that he didn’t want to do the job but that it was an agricultural village. He got to a clearing and finally saw Beanstalk Village for the first time. He studied it for a minute and sighed once more, This place reminds me of…… Kihia quickly shook his head to banish the thought; he couldn’t bring up those memories, not when he had work to do.

He started walking along the trail after a minute and noticed that a few people were heading his way, he watched them closely has they approached him from the village. There were two men, both of them seemed to be in their mid-thirties and were wearing important looking clothing. Kihia sighed once more, Probably two of the leaders of the village coming to confirm why I am here… The two men were about twenty feet from Kihia, when they addressed him, “May we help you with something stranger?” the man on the left asked abruptly. Kihia stopped and stared at them for a few minutes, and then finally replied “I am here for the job you put in about the affliction on your crops.” Kihia stared at the two men while they whispered back and forth amongst themselves for a minute.

After a bit, the man on the right asked “Show us your guild emblem so we know that you are not trying to fool us!” Kihia sighed, I guess that might have helped make this go a little faster….oh well. Kihia lifted up the sleeves of his trench coat and long sleeve shirt revealing his Lamia Scale guild tattoo. The two men nodded in unison and motioned Kihia to join them. Kihia started walking up to them and asked “So what is the exact situation currently?” When Kihia got to them they all started walking towards the village, then the man on the left said “About a week ago, a few of our crop fields started being afflicted by a mysterious phenomenon.” Then the other man started taking adding to what the other had said “Yes, all the crops had withered, and grew black thorns, but that is not the weirdest part of it… They also started glowing! If you don’t find a way to cure our fields all of Fiore may be short on one of the major food groups!” Kihia sighed and said “Don’t worry I know a thing or two about farming I should be able to help find and resolve the problem.” After Kihia finished saying that, the two men stopped abruptly and turned around in unison and said at the same time “Under no circumstance are you to damage our crops or our fields!” Kihia was taken aback from this sudden change of tone, I guess I should have seen that coming…thankfully my magic isn’t that destructive… Kihia then sighed, and said “Don’t worry, I will make sure not to damage anything that isn’t my priority.” The two men glared at Kihia for a few minutes more even after Kihia said that….

Kihia stared back at the two men for a few minutes, and then said “Can you please stop glaring at me and show me to one of your afflicted fields?”  After a while the two men finally stopped glaring at Kihia and nodded once again in unison, “Follow us to one of the fields.” With that they continued walking to the village. As they walked through the village Kihia observed the other villagers go about their daily lives all the while suppressing aching memories. A few people stopped and stared at Kihia as he walked passed, their eyes filled with hope that this stranger will be able to help them.  

They eventually got to the other side of Beanstalk village; they came to one of the afflicted crop fields. Kihia looked across the field at the afflicted crops that lay before him, This is definitely not normal, but it is no plant-based disease either… But I am feeling a rather ominous aura emanating from the ground… After a minute the ground started to shake, Kihia tensed, and then looked back at the two men and yelled “Go back into the village! Something very bad is about to show itself!” The two men didn’t hesitate, they started running to the village, telling everyone to find shelter as they went. Kihia lifted Icarus off right shoulder and adopted a defensive pose, he is ready to defend this village… He will not let anything harm them or their livelihood!

'Monster Dice' :

Kihia noticed the some of the corn plants started to grow and move, What in the?... He watched as legs came out of their stalks and then they started to walk towards Kihia. They finally stopped growing; there were five corn plants twice their normal size, walking towards him. Kihia then noticed their eyes, glowing bright red, he got ready to charge when he noticed arms coming out of the stalks as well. Plant demons…. That explains things…. Kihia frowned, then refocused himself and charged at the giant corn plants. He made sure that each of his steps landed in between the rows of crops, as he rapidly gained ground towards the plant demons.

Kihia watched as they started to charge at him, I have to maintain my mobility…. Kihia sped up, when he reached the first plant demon he side-stepped to avoid it’s charge and struck at it with Icarus, it kept on running past him eventually stopping. Kihia kept paying attention to the remaining plant demons who were charging at him, side stepping out of each ones way and striking them as they ran past. After the last plant demon passed him, he stopped to turn around and then got hit by the first plant demon.

Kihia was sent flying from the impact; he adjusted his body weight to execute a backflip as he was flying. He managed to land on his feet in trough of the farm patch. He sprung down to prevent himself from sliding back, and then jumped forward full force. He started to spin, and then when he got to the plant demon that rammed into him, struck the side of the plant demon with twice the force of one of his normal strikes. Kihia landed shortly after hitting the first plant demon, which started to slowly shrink back to the size of a normal corn plant. He then looked at the remaining four plant demons who had just started to inhale, Kihia didn’t waste a moment he started running diagonally trying to get to right most plant demon.

The plant demons finally exhaled shooting out pieces of corn at extremely high speed, Kihia started to strafe back and forth to avoid the incoming corn bullets. By the time Kihia reached the rightmost plant demon they stopped firing. Kihia then swung at one of the plant demon’s thin legs knocking it off balance, after that he raised Icarus above his head and slammed it down onto the falling plant demon. He looked at the remaining three plant demons and took a deep breath Two down...three to go. They lowered their heads and started to charge at Kihia. Kihia looked at them rather annoyed, and said "That attack will not work a second time!"

Kihia jumped above the charging plant demons, and swung horizontally to hit try and hit them together. Kihia managed to hit one on its side which made it fall on the one next to it. One plant demon ran underneath him, quickly turned around and jumped above Kihia. He had no way to dodge or evade the plant demons attack, and the plant demon landed on Kihia slamming him into the ground. Kihia yelled in agony, he then gritted his teeth and started to push up off the ground. Kihia managed to fully extend his arms, then bent them again for a quick second and then pushed full force.

This threw the plant demon upward off his back; Kihia repeated the move to launch himself into the air. He spun around and kicked the plant demon that was now mid-air with him, he kicked it again and then Kihia reversed his spin slamming Icarus into its left side. This sent the plant demon hurtling to the remaining two plant demons making them crash into each other. The plant demon that just landed started to leave the corn plant which made it start to shrink back into its normal size. When Kihia landed he ran to the two remaining plant demons who were trying to recover. He thrust Icarus into one of them and quickly pulled it out and spun around to strike the remaining plant demon. Both of the corn plants started to shrink back to normal size, Kihia breathed a sigh of relief, I am glad that’s done…. I hope that there is no- The ground started to shake again before he finished his thought, Kihia quickly recollected himself and prepared for the next wave.

'Monster Dice' :

Kihia frowned, it wasn’t the corn this time, but the broccoli, If the corn wasn’t bad enough….. Kihia focused on channeling his magic into Icarus. “Ice Make…..Spear!” He wasn’t going to wait for the broccoli to come out of their dormant state completely. He charged at the new plant demons, there were ten of them this time, he was going to try and cut as many of them down as he could before they were ready. He got to the first one that was still trying to form its limbs, and sliced at it twice in an X shaped pattern, and thrust three times into the broccoli. One down, he rushed to the next one and cut across the eye and followed it up with two more cuts at the limbs that were almost formed. It started to growl at Kihia but he knew he already had this one defeated, he finished it off by thrusting Icarus once into the middle of the stalk, and then again into the eye of the demon. Kihia wasted no time in rushing to the next one; he knew that his window of being able to attack freely was rapidly closing. Kihia cut off the four limbs of the broccoli demon he was now attacking, and finished it up by thrusting into the demons eye.

He pulled out Icarus of the third broccoli demon he just defeated, and took up a defensive stance trying to regain his breath. The remaining broccoli demons were standing up at their full height at seven feet. They have the size and number advantage…..but….they are in close proximity to one another…. He rushed at them, when he got to them he weaved around the first one dodging its punches, getting two quick slices in. He quickly weaved around to the next one dodging its punches, while making a quick slice across the main stalk. He kept going with this maneuver getting a few cuts in on each one, but every so often one would land a grazing punch on Kihia. This worked until he reached the sixth one who was had started leaning its body back in preparation to hit Kihia when he came close. Kihia noticed the odd behavior and changed up his pattern to swipe at this broccoli demon's legs to knock of its feet before it attacked. Kihia then disengaged from the group by jumping backwards onto one of the broccoli demons and then jumping again to get outside of the group....

Kihia took a moment to catch his breath, I am glad I saw that broccoli acting like that….that attack would have hurt a lot…..not to mention damage the crops. He took a moment to think about if he should keep on fighting in the farm field, although no crops had been damaged yet, that might change with this group. He saw a good spot to fight on the other side of the farm patch, past the broccoli demons. Kihia sighed, This may not go well….. Kihia started running towards the group of Broccoli demons once again, the first one he got too had three cuts from his weaving attack sequence, and Kihia hit the demon with the blunt end of Icarus, and then spun around to slash it across the eye. He then moved on to the next one and cut at it as he ran past, If I attack one more that should completely focus their attention on me… He ran to the one he hadn’t managed to injure yet and thrust the blunt end of Icarus into its eye and then weaved around swiping horizontally. After this Kihia started running toward the other side of the field as his ice spearhead started to fade away. The broccoli demon howled in pain as the other remaining broccoli demons started chasing Kihia. Kihia then nodded his planned worked, they were furious…and chasing him blindly.

Kihia continued running, he was surprised that the broccoli plant demons were as fast as he was. He finally got to patch of land on the other side of the farm yard, he quickly stopped and turned around. He threw Icarus up into the air and quickly threw off his trench-coat. He then jumped up and grabbed Icarus, and then executed a front flip to hit the broccoli demon who was just passing underneath him.  He then landed, and immediately side stepped the one who was about to hit him he struck its back to make it fall over. Kihia then started to side step each one and striking them in the back to make them fall over. That should prevent them from attacking me from behind…at least for a few seconds; he got done with those who had started chasing him at first. Kihia then noticed that the one he attacked last before he started running, it was running somewhat haphazardly, the hit Kihia did to its eye must have messed up its vision. When it reached Kihia, he side stepped and hit its front side to make it stop moving, he then followed up the hit by sweeping the legs out from underneath it. Kihia then hit the broccoli demon to launch it up into the air, and then Kihia jumped up to follow it. When he reached it, Kihia slammed Icarus into it; to make it start falling to it’s the other broccoli demons. He landed and waited a moment to catch his breath, If I can manage to knockout two more.... this fight will much more manageable...

Kihia landed and turned around to see the pile of writhing broccoli demons trying to get up. He nodded; This may let me get that chance to get two free hits in…. He was about to charge at them, when he noticed one of them was about to ram at him from his left flank, Kihia barely managed to side step out of the way, and struck at this one’s back. It howled in pain has the broccoli plant started to shrink down.  Kihia then turned around and ran toward the tangled mess of remaining broccoli. He chose one of them that he had previously hit three times, Kihia slammed Icarus into its side, and then whipped around and thrust into the struggling plant demon. As the broccoli plant shrunk down to normal size, the remaining broccoli demons started to get free from the pile and started to stand up.

Kihia ran at the remaining broccoli demons, he struck one on it eye, and whipped around to thrust Icarus into another’s eye. The two broccoli demons reeled back from their eyes being hit again. Kihia focused his attention on the last one, and charged at it, the broccoli charged forward in turn rammed into Kihia. Kihia then used the force of the impact to roll the broccoli demon over his body and throw it up into the air. Kihia jumped after it, and when he got to the broccoli demon he thrust Icarus into it. Kihia then retracted Icarus and spun around to slam the broccoli demon downward. As the broccoli plant fell it started to shrink back down, Kihia nodded as he saw this and got ready to finish off the other two when he landed.

As soon as Kihia landed he ran to get in between the two remaining broccoli demons, he struck one of them on their side, and spun around to strike the other one. Kihia then thrust Icarus into the first one he hit and then retracted Icarus to thrust into the other one finishing them both off. Kihia nodded, he then looked toward the farm patch and noticed that the thorns hadn’t disappeared yet. Kihia frowned, I have a feeling this isn’t over yet…. As soon as Kihia finished that thought the ground started shaking again...

'Monster Dice' :

Kihia sighed in annoyance, It had to be more broccoli demons… Thankfully there were only five of them this time, as he watched them he started to spin Icarus. He knew how the demons worked now, and was not going to give them an inch. “Ice Make… Ring!” he started to completely focus on the plant demons that were now starting to walk towards Kihia. He closed his eyes, recollecting himself to be able to focus entirely focus on the task at hand. He stopped spinning Icarus and held it out in front of him horizontally, he opened his eyes and then yelled “Ice make…Spear storm!!” The ice spears formed out of his ice ring and flew at a high speed towards the broccoli demons. Kihia stood there ready to control the spears to turn if needed, five spears punctured and imbedded themselves into the closest broccoli demon, and one spear was aimed at the broccoli demon in the middle and hit its eye and got stuck in it. The remaining spears were split up to the back two broccoli demons with two hitting them each.

One of the broccoli demons fell, down and started to shrink down back to normal size.  The other broccoli demons that got hit howled in pain and struggled to try and pull the ice spears out of their bodies. The broccoli demon that didn’t get hit howled in rage and started charging at Kihia. He adopted his defensive stance, his eyes full of determination to defeat these demons in front of him.

The broccoli demon finally reached Kihia, as it lunged at him he side stepped out of its way and swiped its legs out from underneath it. Kihia quickly followed up by swinging upward strike its back, and then reversed it into a spin to slam the Broccoli demon back down. He then again reversed the spin to hit the broccoli demon on its side making it roll over. It quickly grabbed Kihia’s leg trying to throw him off balance; he retaliated by thrusting Icarus down on its hand smashing it. Kihia then finished off the broccoli demon by thrusting Icarus into the demons eye; he nodded as he retracted his weapon from the shrinking broccoli plant. He then turned his attention to the remaining broccoli demons, the two who had gotten two spears stuck in them managed to pull the spears out of their bodies and started to charge at Kihia. The one that had a spear stuck in its eye was still struggling to get it out.

After a minute the two who were charging at Kihia had finally reached him, however he didn’t side step this time. He jumped above the two broccoli demons slamming Icarus down onto one of them, after which he landed and turned to them ready to commence attacking…

Kihia charged at them, he thrusted Icarus into the one he just hit, and then retracted and spun around to hit the other one on its side. The broccoli demon took the hit in full and lunged forward to ram Kihia, which knocked him back a few feet. Kihia quickly regained his footing as the other broccoli demon ran at him; he jumped to the side and dashed toward to the charging broccoli demon slamming Icarus into its front side. The broccoli demon groaned a bit as it started to shrink, Kihia then ran at the other one and thrusted Icarus into the middle of the stalk. Kihia then retracted Icarus and executed a clockwise spin to slam Icarus into its side.

The broccoli plant started to shrink as well, and Kihia then turned towards the remaining Broccoli demon. He stood there for a moment catching his breath as he watched the demon struggle to get the ice spear out of its eye. I have to strike at it now… Kihia started to run at the plant demon and said “Ice make… spear!” He reached the broccoli demon making sure to avoid all the crops as he was charging; he weaved around it making a horizontal slash on one side. Kihia then followed that attack up by slicing upward along the stalk, and then he weaved around and cut along the other side until he was in front of the demon again. Kihia aimed at the center of the ice spear stuck in the demon’s eye, and did a full force thrust cutting down the middle of the ice spear deep into the broccoli demon. Kihia pulled Icarus back to his side as he watched the broccoli plant shrink back down. He then stood there for a moment, until the ground started to shake once again, When will these demons go away??...

'Monster Dice' :

Kihia grimaced as he saw that broccoli was yet again being possessed, I am really getting to the point I hate broccoli… Kihia started his attack before they came out of their dormant state completely. There were six broccoli demons this time, Kihia ran up to the first one and made five quick thrusts into the demon and ran to the next one. He was slowly getting tired, he had to try and finish this group has best he could, he got to the second broccoli demon that had started to form it’s legs, and made three slices across the length of the stalk, and then followed it up with two thrusts into it. Two down, without wasting a single second Kihia ran two the third, who was starting to stand up. He swiped at the limbs that were lifting it off the ground; Kihia then struck it down with Icarus and then made four quick thrusts into the broccoli demon. Kihia then ran to the first broccoli that stood up fully, and started attacking it by thrusting Icarus into its eye. Kihia then quickly jumped back, my window of being able to attack freely has ended, he was panting this was turning out to be a longer fight sequence than he had anticipated. The broccoli demon he hit last was reeling back and howling in pain, and its fellow demons started walking toward Kihia. He looked at Icarus as his ice spearhead started to fade, If there is anything after this… I may have to use that spell… Kihia then looked at the broccoli demons walking towards him and refocused himself to his mission.

Kihia ran forward and struck the now blind broccoli demon on its right side, and then execute a clockwise spin to hit its other side. Kihia then got punched from behind from one of the other broccoli demons, he grunted and then retaliated by thrusting Icarus into the broccoli demon that was behind him and tossed it skyward. He then spun Icarus clockwise and resumed attacking the blind broccoli demon by striking it from the spin, and then Kihia pulled Icarus back to execute a powerful thrust onto the broccoli demon. Kihia then noticed the third broccoli demon charging at him from his right flank, he quickly spun around and struck it before it managed to make contact.

Kihia then turned his attention to the broccoli demon that was now falling back down after being tossed. He jumped up and thrusted Icarus into it as they collided. He then pulled Icarus back and spun around to hit the broccoli demon’s right side to send it into its last companion. The two collided into one another, when Kihia landed though he made a break for the closest clearing by the crop field, I need to get away from the crop field…. The fighting is getting to the point it is risking the status of the crops… The Broccoli demons quickly recovered from being thrown together and started chasing Kihia.

Kihia managed to get to the clearing; he then stopped and stood there for a moment trying to regain a bit of his stamina. Kihia took a moment to check to see how his prosthetic arm was doing by rolling his right shoulder.  It should take them a moment to get where they can ca-, he then got slammed into the ground, he yelled out in pain and anger. He managed to roll out of the way before the second broccoli demon tried to attack. Kihia then turned around, and lunged at the one that just swatted him like a fly. He thrusted Icarus into the demon and then spun around to throw him into the other broccoli demon. Kihia quickly ran at the broccoli demons and slammed Icarus into the one he just threw, and then retracted it to wait for a clear hit at the last broccoli demon.

The broccoli demon slowly stood up as the other broccoli plant started to shrink back down to normal size. Kihia then charged at it swinging Icarus to hit the broccoli demon on its right side. He then followed that attack up by executing a clockwise spin to strike it on its left side. Kihia then stepped back and then lunged forward thrusting Icarus into the middle of its stalk. He then lifted it up and slammed it down onto the ground; he retracted Icarus and then swung his weapon up and downward to finish off the last broccoli demon. Kihia stood there for a moment panting; he didn’t even move Icarus although it was resting on a shrinking broccoli plant. Is it over…? He didn’t move for a few minutes listening to his surroundings. Then the ground started to shake….

'Monster Dice' :

Kihia groaned, he wasn’t looking forward to fighting any more plant demons. Five more corn stalks had started to grow and move. Kihia sighed, I don’t have enough stamina to take them all on the way I have been…I guess I have to use it…and endure the pain that comes afterword… Kihia closed his eyes and relaxed all of his muscles and started to breathe slower. He was trying to channel his magic energy across his entire body for a spell he rarely used. The corn plant demons were fully formed and started to run towards Kihia. He wasn’t paying attention to them he had a minute before they could get close to him, after a few more seconds he felt that he charged up enough of his magic energy across his entire body. Kihia then opened his eye and said “Ice…Make…Knight!!” Ice armor started to form all across his body, and a spearhead made out of ice formed on Icarus. He winced as the armor formed due to the armor having to anchor itself to his body bye forming ice hooks into it. The armor finally finished forming, and Kihia got ready to charge. He lunged forward skating over the solid ground, I only have a few minutes until this spell fades…I have to take them all out before then, Kihia skated across the crop field, avoiding all the crops as he went. When he reached the first corn plant demon he rammed into it sending it flying, he then turned and charged toward another one. He cut across its stalk as he passed by it; he turned and repeated this maneuver until he hit all of them once. He then turned around and came to a sliding stopped and got ready to make his second charge.

Corn Plant Demons:
All have one hit on them, and the corn plant demon that was first hit is in the air

Kihia took off again, the corn plant demons were disoriented a bit from his initial attack. Kihia headed to the corn plant demon he attacked last, he got to it and thrust Icarus into it, and he then retracted Icarus and spun Icarus vertically cutting the stalk of the corn plant. He then quickly jumped on the felled Corn plant demon before it started falling and jumped off it to get more height on his jump. He was hurtling towards the corn plant demon he had rammed into, when he got close to it, he let go of Icarus with his right hand and he landed an uppercut on it launching it higher into the air. He then fell back to the ground, and noticed one of the corn plants was about to exhale. He grabbed Icarus with his right hand and took off towards the plant demon.  The corn plant demon exhaled shooting a piece of corn out of its mouth at high speeds. The corn piece impacted on Kihia’s left shoulder, the shoulder piece took the hit fully and a few cracks formed in it.  Kihia then got to the corn plant demon who had just shot at him and thrusted the blunt end of Icarus into the plant demon. Kihia then executed a counter-clockwise spin slashing the corn plant demon as he spun.  The corn plant slowly started to turn back to normal, and Kihia focused onto his next target.

Kihia continued his assault, The armor isn’t going to last much longer… He charged at the corn plant demon that was behind the one he just took down. When he got to it he thrust the pointed end of Icarus into it, then he let go of Icarus with his right hand and drew it back. Kihia then punched the corn plant demon which knocked it off Icarus, Kihia quickly turned around to be met by the last corn plant demon on the ground ramming into him.

Kihia took the hit and retaliated by pushing it back and charging at it. He swung Icarus, cutting the plan demon across the front, Kihia then followed up the attack by flipping Icarus around and thrusting it into the plant demon. Kihia watched it start shrinking back into a normal corn plant; he nodded and then looked up at the last corn plant demon that was finally falling down from being hit. Kihia walked underneath it, bent his knees and then jumped holding the pointed end of Icarus above him. When Kihia impacted the falling corn plant demon he completely impaled it with Icarus. As he fell back down it started to shrink back down to a normal corn plant. Kihia nodded and then focused on making sure he landed as softly as possible.

When he got to the ground he bent his knees to try and let the armor absorb most of his landing instead of the ground. After a moment Kihia looked around watching the black thorns disappear from the surrounding crops. He smiled underneath his helmet, and then a shockwave of pain coursed through his entire body. He winced, I am glad I managed to defeat the demons before it ran out... Kihia stood still as the armor started to fade away, causing the wounds that the armor caused while forming to open up. He dropped Icarus as multiple cracking sounds started coming from his right arm. He fell down to his knees and barely noticed the villagers quickly running towards him…

Corn plant demons: all are defeated

The Villagers helped Kihia back to the village and tried to help treat his injuries. Kihia didn’t want them to at first, but after a while he caved. However he only allowed them to treat his left arm and his legs, I won’t let them see my right arm… After a while Kihia regained a bit of his strength and helped for a day to treat the crops as thanks for the hospitality. He did so even though the villagers had told him he needed to get his rest and heal. The day after he was getting ready to leave Beanstalk village when the two leaders from before came into the tipi Kihia was staying in.

They came in and said in unison “We thank you once again for getting rid of the demons that were plaguing our crops.” Then they stopped for a moment watching Kihia who was putting on his trench-coat. Then one of them said “We have your payment of 10, 000 jewels, and I personally thank you once again for your help.” The leader handed Kihia the bag of jewels, Kihia nodded in thanks and put it into his pocket. Kihia was about to say something when the other leader said “Everyone in the village thanks you for the service you did for us and wish you safe travels back to Hargeon town.” Kihia sighed, the time he spent afterword was mainly to repair his right arm when he was alone. He then looked at the two leaders and said “You all have thanked me enough, I was happy to help you all. I must be getting back to the guild now and report in, I wish you all have a great year and a bountiful harvest.” Kihia lifted Icarus onto his right shoulder and started walking out of the tipi before the two leaders could start talking again, It’s time to go back…to my new home…
