Don't mind me just rehashing ancient history

Light poured through the doors as Simon pushed them open and stepped inside the Fairy Tail guild hall. He glanced around at the various guild activity and stopped for a moment blinking. Something felt off but he couldn't peg it."Man I never really noticed before because I was so caught up in being me, but the guild has changed a lot." He didn't say this at anyone or anything specific or really loud enough for anyone to hear. Looking around Simon began to notice the truth to his own words, countless old faces had come and gone and been replaced by new faces since Simon joined a long time ago. After a moment of looking around Simon almost felt depressed by how many people had come and gone in his time. It was almost as if he was old, and he was way too young to be old. After a moment of standing there like an idiot Simon remembered to close the doors behind him and then began walking through the crowds of people. Simon examined each face as he passed, not just had the noticeable distinguished mages changed but so had the seemingly perfectly generic mages that formed up the masses of Fairy Tail. It was borderline freaky.

Simon stumbled because he wasn't paying attention to where he was walking and found himself on his hands and knees staring at the floor. Standing up he noticed the bar was right in front of him with two empty bar stools right in front of him. He stared at them unblinking for the longest time as old memories pushed their way to the forefront almost involuntarily. Over 2 years ago Simon had tried to make his little presence in Fairy Tail known so he could get help on jobs. At the time he hadn't been gifted with his phoenix fire and his god leg magic was pitiful to non-existent, not to mention he had been twelve, so getting people's attention was almost impossible for him and he had found himself getting lost in crowds, tripping and falling left and right, getting shoved around and a great deal of confusion and terror. Until he would come to this bar where he would meet one of first big guild members, Nightken Blackwing. It was an odd memory with mixed emotions for him but he tried to enjoy the little flash back. That time had been when things really got in motion for Simon.

He shook himself from his memories and tried to focus back on the present. As he did so a familiar smell hit him like a wall. He couldn't peg it exactly nor could he name it but he knew he had smelt it before and it was no ordinary smell. He looked around the guild expanding his perception feeling for magic trying to locate the source but then quickly as it had come it vanished. Unsure and confused Simon began walking around the guild trying to find it again. He had no idea at the time but it was going to be a long day.
