Magic meets Tech (Intro)

Ugh why do I have to wear clothes?

Kare was walking down the street towards the Lamia Guild Hall. She needed allies, political backing and willing test subjects for her grand experiments. She stared in front of the doors, but completely did not care for the architecture. Too much ego boosting for her liking.  Why was she here? Well she wanted to compare her nanites to magic to see if it was functional. There was no emotion on her face, but instead she appeared to be eating a corn dog as her extremely alert eyes watched everyone and everything in the guild. She just stood there at the entrance and just examined everyone's quirks and behavior until someone got in contact with her.

The door creaked open and her glaring eyes glanced that way. A girl stood in the doorway, at least she looked like a girl. Her dull eyes seemed schmatical and like they were taking in information, what was she doing here? She was eating a corn dog, peeking around at everyone in the Hall, which for most guilds at this point, didnt consist of very many.

" You there!" Kariline barked out, " Do you plan on coming in, or are you going to let the draft in all day?" She said, rather harsh, but getting dust in her drink wasn't her cup of tea.

The girl appeared distant, she seemed off, and what was more important, she couldnt sense any magic power off her at all. Was she a citizen who got lost?

Adessa just looked at the person with a very blank expression in the face and noticed her outfit, her smell and every detail that she positively may have. All the while eating the corndog and still feeling hungry afterwards. She slowly walked up and looked at her in the face, "Minor burns in some areas of the skin, smell of sulfur on your body, weak physical build as if you let others do all the work, harsh personality with emphasis on self. You are a summoner and not just any kind of summoner, but a demonic one. Based on you physical features, you are classified as a D-rank mage." She said it all with a straight face and still scanning her for every trace of detail. She wanted a sample from her, something in the blood could say how her magic works and give insight to new technologies to traverse other dimensions.

Her blood boiled instantly. How Dare she!!?? What a Arrogant little brat. Kariline was certainly debating whether to crush in her skull here and now, or wait til later when it really meant something. How dare she judge her out in the open like that. Gritting her teeth, doing everything she could not to wail on this girl she just raised her chin, as she stood taller than the girl. " You best Watch yourself and your tongue." It wasn't a threat, more of like a fact. Cause if she didn't then certainly Kariline was going to break her.

"Ahh Kari, I like her!!" A small squeaky voice said as Lilltha flew around Kariline's head. Of course she did, she had a evil demeanor similar to her own, so why not? The succubus landed on top of the new girls head.

"So are you to join our guild?" She said, trying to get over what was said earlier. Besides, if the girl stuck around, they could really pick on each other.

Adessa just tilted her head to the side. She was invited to join a magic guild with no access to magic whatsoever? Well this day got curiouser and entertaining in 1 go. Kari, as the miniature devil called her, was already mad it seemed. Watch herself and tongue huh? Well she looked at herself in mirror and knew she would be classified as 'attractive.' She however was more interested in something else now. This was the first devil she has ever seen in her life and thus bluntly said, "This is the first time I have seen a devil. May I take a blood sample from it?" At that very moment her right index finger morphed into a syringe needle in anticipation that Kari would say yes. It was her property after all.

Talen had just finished a nap in his dorm room in the guild hall. It had felt wonderful, the sun was shining bright today and was warm. After waking up, he had decided to go to the main hall and try and find a mission to do.

When Talen came to the main hall of the guild, he saw a new person and Kariline talking, with Lillith  standing nearby in her full sized form. Talen walked up to the three, saying, "Welcome to Lamia Scale, I see you have already met Kariline and Lillith. My name is Talen." As Talen offered the new girl his hand, he noticed that Kariline had an angry expression on her face. "What did you say?" Talen asked the newcomer.

At that moment Zuo would pop out of the ground several feet away from them "New person! Hello! I am Zuo Cii your guild master, sadly I am terribly busy. Kariline, Talen I leave you to give her a proper introduction to the guild. Whatever that means to you. Just a few rules, respect your peers, we are all equals here. We serve each other as we want to be served. Manners are important, be polite, always ask permission if you need anything from anyone. Theft of any kind if not tolerated, injury of another guild member without my permission is also no tolerated. Also common sense, if it's illegal in Fiore law it's not okay here. That should cover all the big things. Kariline take 'good' care of them." Zuo then dropped back into the ground before popping back up a moment later "By the way Talen, Kariline if a proper introduction requires violence you have permission to utilize it. However I don't know why you would need to." Zuo would then once again vanish under the ground to do mysterious guild master stuff.

She lifted her head as the master once again disappeared under the ground. Why did he give her the responsibility of showing the new girl around? Greeaaatttt... Just her cup of tea. Kariline gritted her teeth and glared at Adessa. " Kariline, if you couldn't guess, is my name. " She just turned her back to the girl, " Talen, I dont see why she would want to join, she isn't even a mage. You cant sense any Magical Energy off her at all. " she said with her eyes closed and her arms crossed.

"So tell us, why are you here then?" She looked over her shoulder to Talen. how could he be so nice to her? Well she hasn't said anything bad about him, yet. Yet. She felt as Lillitha shrunk back down and walked over Kariline's shoulder. The succubus rubbed the part where she was stuck with a needle. She wasn't so sure she liked this girl anymore.

"Because..." at this moment Adessa was offering Lilitha 5 assorted flavored lollipops for being a good patient for not complaining about the needle. The chibi demon was taking needles better than most humans that received her needles. She was not evil, just eccentric to say the least. It was then an old man walked in and for most part said she was part of the guild. Adessa raised an eyebrow. Her a part of a guild? Adessa said, "I want to study the phenomenon that is magic. How can one simply warp the fabrics of reality like that? There must be some application of science that nobody knows that. Your summoning demons and shooting spells from your hand is magic. As for me..."

At that moment Adessa's right hand began to morph into what looked like a sword. Flesh, bone and blood, becoming a sharp implement solely meant for killing. There was no magical energy released, not was there indication of hiding magical energy. She tilted her head to the side with a mix of curiosity and mild amusement. "Who says mages could hog all the fun?"

Ren didn't want to go closer to the new woman who had walked into the guild. Why? because she was extremely intimidating. She was talking about blood samples and science and quite honestly science was something Ren tried to avoid as trying to understand the complexities of such things gave him a head ache. So here he was, peering at her from behind one of the many tables of the guildhall. Of course, he was probably the worst at stealth seeing as how the guildhall was white and he always dressed rather flamboyantly.

Talen was still wondering what the new girl had said to Kariline to make her so angry. He had never seen the demon summoner so angry at someone for no apparent reason. However, Zuo had said that Adessa was a member of the guild now, and that he and Kariline were to show her around.

"Well," Talen said in response to Kariline, "Zuo seems to think that she is qualified," Talen gave a slight shrug, "But if you don't think she can be here, you should test her." Talen was hopeing that if the two fought now, it would prevent the two from fighting in the future. And Talen was confident that Kariline would win, despite the strange way that Adessa fought.

The part about Adessa's transformation that surprised Talen the most way the fact that he had felt no magical energy from her, not like she was hiding it, more like she had none to hide in the first place. "That's very... impressive" he said to Adessa after a moment, "How did you do that?"
