During the Timeskip, by secluding himself into the fallen airship of his original guild Grimoire Heart for the entire year, Aldous begun to develop a desire to clean up the place that he once called home and so, while he was also busy absorbing all of the knowledge the Guild library presented to him, Aldous did just that, putting fallen pictures and ornaments back to where his memory claimed they belonged, sweeping off the thick, nearly noxious layers of dust that had collected together after 10 years of stagnation and clearing the piles of rubble brought forth by both the unknown force that had wrecked the airship and eventual degradation by the patient sandpaper-like hand of time itself. It was in the latter that Aldous found, under the remains of a fallen wall near the hole that the destructive force had caused, a sword. When he first brought it out from beneath the stone, the sword, nearly as tall as his body, was in a poor state: its leather sheath greying and fraying at the edges and when he pulled it out to reveal a nearly indistinguishable blade crusted in thick casts of rust, Aldous felt his nose wrinkle and curl at the smell of decaying . Despite his urges to throw away the ugly thing, in a brief moment of what Aldous could not describe, a clear idea came to the forefront of his head: keep me.
It was only over the Time-skip year that Aldous finally managed to figure out the sword's value; whenever he needed time to process surprising/controversial information he had gathered from the books or had exhausted himself in practising his magic, Aldous would have a tendency of sitting beside the still sword he had placed in the corner and smooth his hand over the surface of the sheath, while remaining deep in his own thoughts and nothing else. One day, two months after he had found it, Aldous suddenly felt his hands edge towards the hilt that had unusually regained the black sheen of onyx, and he pulled it out, revealing the words 'Cloud Penance' across the deep blue steel that reflected brilliantly in the light. When the edge of the sword gave a black-purplish glow that protected Aldous' finger from cutting itself as he reflexively smoothed it over the sharp bite, Aldous knew that the sword was calling to the Amaterasu Formula magic inside him. It was the second of the three Amaterasu Regalia, carrying the Formulas #3 and #47 imprinted into it, ready to be at Aldous' beck and call.

Strengths: 

• At 1.60 metres long, Cloud Penance is an extremely long greatsword, which in turn grants Aldous a physical advantage in close-combat against people who need to get up-close and personal, such as punchers. Its sweeping attacks would be devastating to those who try to gang up around Aldous, cutting a swathe right through them like a scythe does with wheat. Under Aldous' current strength, its normal attacks also deal D-rank damage.
  
• In terms of the environment, the blade's steel edge can cut through wood and stone and when used in a thrust, it can even perforate normal iron. Cloud Penance is effective as a walking stick, a climbing hook, a crowbar, a lever and it looks impressive at social functions.
  
• Amaterasu Formula #3: A Servant's Foundation is the passive magical spell  inside the blade. While it does not provide any boosts in terms of combat prowess or properties of Cloud Penance, the formula is what allows for the magical connection between Cloud Penance and Aldous. At the moment it remains weak, with only a negligible trickle of magical power travelling from Aldous and into Cloud Penance, but the sharing of magic reduces the weight burden that Cloud Penance would have otherwise placed and it allows the blade to slowly regenerate, such that it could recover from ten years of rusting within two months and in RP terms, recover from a broken state by two threads. Furthermore, the blade uses the Formula to create a discriminating magical barrier around its edge, such that if used against Aldous, it cannot cut him.
  

Weaknesses: 

• At the moment as a D-rank, Aldous needs both hands in order to swing this massive weapon and while he is not slowed down by the weight thanks to Formula #3, he is not terribly fast either, so the exaggerated look that using two hands will result in will heavily telegraph Aldous' attacks with the sword. He needs more experience if he hopes to use Cloud Penance effectively against skilled weapon users such as the magic-less humans who have to rely on weapons and Requip mages who pretty much work with weapons all of their lives.
  
• Furthermore, as he needs both hands, in the same posts where he attacks with Cloud Penance, Aldous cannot use Amaterasu Formula spells, which require input from his hands. The only exceptions are Formula #1, since it only needs one extended finger to create the dot that makes it up, but at the moment, Aldous can only do this once per post. 
  
• While it cannot cut Aldous thanks to Formula #3, it can still be used to smack him as the barrier transforms it into an oversized baseball bat and thanks to its weight, it is going to hurt. Cloud Penance still deals D-rank blunt damage when used against Aldous, though it would be admittedly less severe than him actually getting cut.
  
• Cloud Penance can regenerate but that does nothing for its durability. Due to how tiny the amount of magic it gets, Cloud Penance still cannot resist spells of all ranks. 
  

Abilities: 

• Due to it having not yet received enough energy and synchronize itself fully with Aldous, the Formula #47 remains locked inside the blade, impossible to access until Cloud Penance reaches its full potential in the hands of Aldous.
