Suggestion Idea Name: Second Origin
Suggestion Details:
Well, this is quite simple to understand and to be put in the shortest way possible : Extra MP.
The series had Second Origin as a power that allowed mages to reach new heights with their respective Magic or perform spells and activate abilities, that they would otherwise have trouble with, with ease. Now, on the site, everyone's extremely creative with their spells and has a plethora of abilities in their arsenal. So, even after being fascinated by the concept of Second Origin, I fail to see how it can be implemented in the canon-way.
However, what if it gives you extra MP instead? So that it gives your character the ability to perform greater feats with their magic (IC-wise, that is. There's no big thing in casting more spells xD)
I was thinking that this extra MP can be achieved by Training Threads that work in a fashion similar to the Secondary Magic Training. Basically, its 1% MP for 1 post in the Training Thread.
There's a limitation to how much extra MP you can unlock at each rank and how many posts you'll need to do the same. Goes something like this :
Mage Rank | Max. MP | Number of posts |
---|---|---|
D | 10% | 10 posts |
C | 15% | 15 posts |
B | 20% | 20 Posts |
A | 25% | 25 Posts |
S | 30% | 30 posts |
:: Okay, so there's no H or SS Rank in there. Why, you ask? I feel anything above 30% MP is a bit too much. But, that does not mean H-Ranks or GM's are not allowed to train for the MP, they can do so with 30 posts and achieve the maximum.
:: The values mentioned in the chart for each rank is the maximum they can achieve; but they can also train for smaller amounts of MP which they see fit.
:: Also, no one should be able to do a training thread of 1 post and earn 1% MP. Cause, honestly, that's stewpid. Same goes for 5% or any value in between whats mentioned in the chart.
:: 500 words per post? So, for 10% you're doing 5000 words. Might seem a bit hard, but the pain is worth it. Also, people can put it all in one post if they want to. Because, honestly, some people do not like doing multiple posts and actually see it as a pain.
:: Personally, I don't like the idea of mentor-system in this; because training like this can be done by a single mage in a secluded area. Its like training in a gym and getting fitter. Its not learning something new like a Secondary Magic.
:: To decide whether a mage can start his/her Second Origin Training they have to possess atleast one Quality Badge. Badge 1 (Bronze) allows them to train for D and C max. Badge 2 (Silver) for B and A max. Badge 3 (Gold) for S max i.e 30%.
:: The staff member who takes on the responsibility to look over a Training Thread, ought to have the right to downright deny the Training if they do not find it of worthy quality.
Yeah, so that's what I came up with. Suggestions and criticisms are most welcome~
Other Information: Everyone's free to mess with that little chart o.o Cause I have no idea if its reasonable or not, afterall, its just a basic Arithmetic Progression xD
