Let's face it Gold Rush is no where near as powerful as Monkey King's Descent. It's common sense.
But tell me, what more did the person who rolled Monkey King's Descent to deserve it over the person who rolled Gold Rush? That's right nothing.
I like lineages and they are a super cool system, but I think there is room for improvement.
What I want:
Lineages to be sorted into weak, strong, and legendary like weapons and armor. Then three separate lineage dice are created, one for weak, one for strong and one for legendary. Everyone gets a weak roll for free, and later on they can buy a strong or legendary roll to replace their weak one.
Why would we do this?:
Because some lineages give some people incredible powers and other people lame ones, this allows people to actually earn their incredible powers and presents a way for people to get something better then their lame ones.
Why is this important:
Because right now everyone gets a free lineage of random power. This is pretty much like having a "weapon dice" that every player can roll once to get a free weapon, but they have no control of what the weapon is like and the weapons are all of various ranks. That is obviously not fair. It all comes down to when giving out handouts, all the handouts should be equal. When buying a product, all the product of the same price should be equal.
What about the people who already have lineages that would be considered strong or legendary should they just lose their lineage and have to get a weak one?:
I think they should be offered the choice: either pay the cost of the roll to keep it or have to roll for a weak one. In the case they got to choose a lineage for winning a contest or donated for a custom lineages they should get to keep their lineages without paying anything. Because they actually earned that.
But that is just my opinion of how it should be handled.
Thanks for reading and considering
