House Repair

Mission:

Rita let out a long tension filled sigh, seeing as there were only a handful of jobs on the request board and just a few were worth her time. She scratched her head and wondered why there hadn't been many request lately-in fact why Fairy Tail was starting to loose requests. Maybe it was because the guild had just been getting better and better at destroying things. If that was the case she could be to blame as well, After all with the help of Lance, Rita had gone and demolished a whole train station last week.

A job caught her eye, 'House Repair'.  It was ironic to find such a request in a guild that just loved to destroy things. Rita snatched the paper from the board and quickly skimmed through the flyer in her hand. The mage decided she would go on this job as she rushed for the door, unaware that some one would be joining her on the same request soon.

Daiki sighed slightly as he had quickly made it to the guild he had only recently joined, with his white hair lightly moving with him against a breeze here and there, while wearing his usual attire of a red shirt with a midnight blue overcoat with the sleeves rolled up which allowed his guild seal to be seen on the back of his right forearm, jeans, and a pair of boot. He had almost instantly made his way to the job board, though he didn't make it even halfway, as another member of the guild moved past him and out the door. Even though he didn't know the other members very well, he figured he'd tag along on the job after the woman.

As he moved after the woman who had left the guild hall on a job soon after he entered the hall, he noticed part of the title on the flyer before even speaking.  "So what exactly does this job entail?" He spoke, not knowing if he'd have surprised the woman or not. This was his first job ever, so he'd be a bit excited about it, even it he didn't much show it past the smirk he had on his face.

He forgot he didn't even introduce himself, though he didn't worry much about it at the current moment.

Rita froze in her tracks and nearly dropped the request out of surprise as another voice sounded behind her. She whirled around on the heels of her boots to face them. The guy was just a little a bit taller than herself so she found herself looking up at him. The Fairy looked back down to her job request "Well, I just need to get some house fixed up before another storm comes and wrecks the place completely, pretty straight forward."The Fairy began in an uneasy tone as she gripped the page in her hands and looked the man over another time."Why do you ask?" She questioned, sternly. Rita took a step back. She was unsure if she could trust this guy it all seemed a bit shady."And- Who are you?" she asked not afraid to sound suspicious. Rita could not say she had ever seen this guy before even though they were in the same guild, she must of always been to busy keeping her other guild mates from killing each other.

Daiki watched as Rita had almost dropped the request after he had spoken, and soon twirled around to face him. He listened as she had soon spoken, describing what the job would entail. Though she took no time asking him why he asked, and even who he was, he would soon smile a bit before responding. "I asked simply for the fact that I'm new to the guild and I caught a glimpse of the request as you left the guildhall, and since you rushed out just as I had entered, I figured I'd tag along." He said, his face showing no ill will towards her, or even of her sounding suspicious.

He could understand where she was coming from with her suspicion though he almost forgot that she had asked him who he was, in which he would speak once more a few moments after he had last spoken. "The name's Daiki. And as I said, I'm a new member of Fairy Tail." He said, as he brought up his right arm and showed the woman his guild symbol which was lavender on the back of his right forearm. He chuckled slightly as he put his arm back down to his side after a few moments, hoping that the woman would actually allow him to help with the Job, though he'd most likely even help with it even if she didn't want him to.

Rita looked back and noticed that there were dark clouds gathering in the horizon implying that this next storm on it's way would not wait for them. She sighed seeing as she didn't have the time nor patience to shoo this guy off. It looked like she had to drag someone along with her this time.
"If your coming with me then lets get going, But you better not get in the way." She said releasing a long sigh. Rita realized that they both were still were standing around and rolled her eyes annoyed with the time that was being wasted. "We are not getting there anytime soon at this rate." She said as she snagged him by the arm. Rita raced to the job destination. The girl  literally ran with inhumane speed, 50 MPH to be exact thanks to her recently acquired Boots Of Halosis. It only took her 2 minutes to run her and Daki to the destination of the job request all the way across town.

She let go of Daiki and approached the building on her own. The home seemed rather run down, just as she expected. The roof looked like it could not take much more and the gutters seemed bent up the porch was not any better. a tree limb had fallen down and broke the wooden railing along with the floor boards.

The Fairy scratched her head,disregarding what Daiki whatever doing. The Fairy carefully ascended up the broken porch and knocked on the door a couple times. No one came. She knocked again, louder but no one came. She looked around the area. Josh Weatherstiens was the client and owner of this house, but no one came to answer the door and the streets were empty. Where was this guy?

(OOC: It's your first job so I'll let you control the client NPC however you like ^w^)

Daiki smiled slightly still as the woman had told him not to get in the way if he was coming with her on the job, as well as they weren't getting there anytime soon at that rate. He watched her grab his arm and started running. Though she ran at an inhuman speed, which caused him to have the woman as a connection to the ground as he had been lifted off the ground with the speed the woman had started to run for.

As the two had arrived at their destination, the woman had let him go and seemed to have moved towards the front door. Though, Daiki's body felt off to him due to having been dragged so quickly by the woman. He felt sick to his stomach, though he wouldn't show it, seeing as he didn't want to screw up his first job. He would arrange himself and move to a sitting position, so that he could recover a bit from the experience he had just had with being dragged.

He soon looked up at the house and sighed slightly to himself as he shook his head and watched the woman knock on the door a couple times, pausing, and knocking a little harder before looking around the area. "Even though we're here, I didn't exactly catch your name, Miss..." He said, still sitting. He would then look around the area as well, noticing the streets were empty, along with the fact that the owner of the house was nowhere to be seen.

"Also, isn't he supposed to be here with the supplies or were we supposed to buy them ourselves?" He spoke, slowly standing up.

"Rita. Nothing more. Nothing less." She was short with her answer, never the less it was a response you would expect from her. "And I have no idea about the supplies it looks like we are going to have to wait and find out..."

The Fairy was starting to get impatient and began to pound on the door again, only this time the door slid off the hinges and met the floor of the home with a loud 'thump'. She sweatdroped at this, seeing as this just meant the two of them had more to repair. "Opps..." She muttered. Suddenly, something reeled in her attention. Inside of the house there was a full stock pile of the equipment they needed saws, hammers, nails, drills, ect. "Apparently you were right, looks like the only thing that inst here is new wood to replace the porch but other than that we are set!" Rita said excitedly.

Daiki listened to the woman as she had given him her name, in which he would nod. He would continue to listen to Rita as she had spoken about not knowing about the supplies. He could continue to scan the area, though he noticed Rita had started to pound on the door again, though this time the door removed itself from the hinges.

"Well then..." He said, with a slight sigh. He would start on his way to check out on the red of the house from the outside but stopped when he heard Rita speak about how he was right, and that the only material missing was wood to replace the porch. "Well, I guess we'll have all but the wood to take care of then, unless you're able to use the tree to help with repairing the porch." he said, jokingly about the tree.

He soon continued his way to check out the back of the house, in which he did, as his midnight blue overcoat fluttered in the wind as a light gust had passed by the area. Though as he made his way around the back, he didn't see much work that would have to be done on it there, so he looped his way around the house as he looked over at Rita. "I'll go and get the wood now, Rita. You can start for now and I'll go and get the wood needed." He said, as he started to jog to the closest store that would probably sell wood needed for this job.

Though after he had left, the owner had arrived. "Oh, Hello there, I guess you're one of the people who accepted my job request? I thank you so much for doing this." The man spoke with a smile.

Rita gave a quick nod as Daiki offered to run and get the wood for the porch. She watched after him as he scurried off. Rita turned back to the house and eyed the stock pile of tools inside. She quickly vanished inside the home and walked out with a hammer and a bucket of nails. As she prepared to get to work the man who had sent off the request greeted her,it was about time he showed up.

"You got it, We came from Fairy Tail. You must be Mister Weathersteins then. The guild member I came here with ran off to go get some wood to patch up the porch, he outta be back shortly." She explained before she dismissed herself and rushed back to work. The Fairy looked up at the roof and saw that it might need to be looked at. Rita jumped and outstretched her hand to try and grab onto the roof, she failed miserably.

The girl let out a sigh after another three failed attempts to get onto the roof.  Rita scanned her surroundings to see if there was anything that she would be able to use to boost her up to the roof. She spotted a garbage can on the side of the building and felt that it would suffice. She quickly drug it into place and leapt onto the can to boost her up higher. Rita grabbed onto the gutter and used it to hoist her and the tools up onto the roof top. She took a look around and saw that there was allot to be done. The roof needed to be re-shingled and the gutters were in desperate need of some straightening out. Rita would leave the work on the ground to her guild mate while she got to work on the roof.

As Daiki made his way to the store to buy the wood, he slightly wondered how Rita was fairing with things, and wondered if the owner of the house had shown up or not. Though he stopped thinking about it as he had soon arrived to the store. He panted slightly as he entered the store, and eventually bought the wood that was needed.

As he made his way back, granted a bit slower due to the extra weight due to the wood, he would soon make his way back he would see Rita working on the roof, and the owner of the house looked over at him and smiled before speaking. "Thank you for coming here to help me with your guild member." The owner has spoken.

"It's not a problem, I was happy to help out my fellow guild member on this job." He said, as he moved the wood closer to the porch and going inside to grab a hammer and some nails, as well as a saw, so he could start working on the porch. He would start to grab some of the wood and start to cut it with the saw before setting the wood down and nailing it in place.

Rita looked at the gutter and sighed. "This is ridiculous." She muttered. "How do you bend something up this much?" She growled as she looked over the crooked piece of metalwork. She sighed and looked at the hammer she had brought up with her. The Fairy tried pushing and pulling at it with her bare hands but it hardly did anything to help the situation. She thought she might be able to bend this thing back into shape with the help of her magic, but what spell did she know that would fix this? Rita thought for a minute before making her decision.

"Shadow Make: Garden Of Thorns!" She exclaimed as she lifted her right arm into the air. Immediately, her shadow expanded over the ground covering a large area on the roof around her. Out from the shadow came not one but two thorned vines glowing with a dark aura. 'This should make the job all the more easier.' she thought to herself preparing to get the job done,get her pay,and get out of there.

Daiki worked on the porch with the wood, saw, and nails, and slowly made progress as he smirked slightly. After a few moments, he had heard Rita exclaim something he presumed was magic. "Having fun up there, Rita?" He asked, smirking ever so slightly. After a few more strikes with the hammer on a few more nails in one of the first boards, he would sigh a bit before deciding to use his gravity manipulation spell to increase his gravity by fifty percent, which would allow him to hit the nails less to fully nail them in.

He continued progressing roughly halfway through the porch before smirking a bit. He set the hammer down before stretching a bit. He would soon focus on the railing where he had fixed the porch enough to work on said railing. He would finish it relatively quickly, but he would look around to see the owner of the house continue to watch them, in which he would wave a bit before the owner of the house waved a bit back as he watched the two work.

He continued to work on the porch via sawing the wood, placing them in the right place and nailing them in.

She cracked her knuckles before motioning her hand towards the gutter. The shadowy vines that she had summoned reacted, both wrapping around it. she lowered her hand and the branches caught the command. Both of the vines pressed against the metal work with all their strength slowly bending it down back into its original form. Rita's concentration was ultimately  shattered by a voice below. Only then did she realize she had been standing right on the edge rooftop. The Fairy wobbled a bit before ultimately losing her balance falling backwards. 'shit!shit!shit!shit!shit!shit!' she cursed to herself, she flailing  her arms as she fell. Rita's spell reacted to all the arm motioning however. Before Rita crash landed one of the shadowy branches let go of the gutter and snagged her by the leg. Rita was left dangling upside down from one of her vines. She sweat dropped comically as she faced Daiki who was working on the porch. "l...I-I meant to do that."She muttered in embarrassment  as her face went red from both her blushing and her blood rushing to down to her face from being upside down. "Uhm but while I'm here...you mind handing me a couple of those nails?" She asked trying to brush off the little fall she had taken.


(OOC: Really sorry I took so long Dai. I've been busy.")

Daiki continued to hammer nails down into the boards after he had cut them with the saw. Though after a while, he heard Rita cause a small ruckus and speaking a bit before he moved to look at the roof, but he didn't need to move much to see that she was being held by what seemed to be magic, by the ankle. He blinked for a moment and soon noticed that the skirt she was wearing had flipped down after she had asked him if she could be handed some of the nails he had.

After a few moments it had actually hit him that her underwear was in plain view, in which his face turned red from blushing, and soon turned to grab some nails for her. "Here ya go, Rita." He said, before continuing to watch her for another moment. As a few minutes passed, he would soon start to work again, but as he did, he shook his head slightly before continuing his work.

As he continued on, he had ended his spell, as he started to hit the nails into the boards, and soon finished. He could notice that the next storm was getting closer

She received the spare nails that she asked for but something troubled her. What was he starring at? It took her a minute but Rita realized. Her face went red out of both embarrassment and even anger. She crossed her leg over her knee to cover herself as the vein on her forehead began to pulse and her eye twitched. Rita gritted her teeth and clenched the hammer in her hand.  She did not hesitate and swung the hammer and comically bashed him upside the head with the tool just as he turned around to get back to work. 'P-Pervert...' she muttered to herself, eye still twitching. She gestured her arm with the hammer and was hoisted back up to the roof. The other shadow vine she had created had fixed up the gutter quite nicely while she was gone. All that was left was to re shingle the roof. Regaining her composure she prepared to get back to work. First things first she needed to take care of all the old shingles. Her shadow vines continued to assist her through the job. Both of them began prying the shingles  that needed to be replaced off of the roof while she used the split end of her claw hammer to pry out nails still holding bits of shingles onto the roof. Slide the split ends of the hammer under and around the nail. She levered the hammer careful not to tear off any of the structural nails as she worked.

Daiki would soon feel the hammer hit the back of his head and put his hands on the wood ha had just put down to prevent him from stumbling into the newly placed wood. "Sorry, Rita." He said, smirking ever slightly. He would soon move to grab what he needed to coat on top of the wood he had just nailed down.

As he worked, he would soon speak once more to Rita. "I do apologize for staring, Rita." He said, loud enough for her to hear. Even though he stared, he wouldn't mention it to anyone, because gentlemen don't do that. He would make sure to listen if Rita would soon speak once more so that he didn't miss it. Though he would make sure he would be treating the wood as best he could while trying to make sure they were done before the storm had arrived so they wouldn't fail the job they had taken.

Rita quickly began placing new shingles in the place of the ones her and her Shadow Vines had ripped away. She cracked her knuckles. 'Now all that's left to do is nail em in...' She thought to herself. The Fairy decided on something better than nails... "Shadow Make:Darts" She recited. An arcane seal appeared in the palms of her hands, pointed out in the direction of the newly placed shingles. A second passed and a frenzy of shadowy needles erupted out from the circle. The needles pieced the shingles and pinned them to the roof just as well as the nails would of.

Rita turned back to the Shadow Vines. With an effortless sweep of her hand the spell dissipated in a dark mist, blown away by the wind off the coming storm. Just as Rita finished up Daiki's Voice met her ears. She hopped off of the roof landing on her feet before him.

In Rita's hands was now a small black spray can. "So you are sorry, eh?"She said and grew silent after her statement staring at her fellow Fairy. Suddenly, she sprayed Daiki in the face with the contents of the can, pepper spray. "Oops." She muttered dully and sarcastically after he had suffered the once she had shown Daiki the power of her 'Moron Suppressor'. "Well, Looks like we are even now and I have no choice but to forgive you." She stated as he would surely agonize."Or was that not enough?" Rita added, reaching for a handshake all while giving Daiki a smirk...Not that he could clearly see her expression after getting maced in the face.

Daiki watched as Rita had done what she had to do before he watched her hop off the roof and had soon noticed that she was holding a small black can, before hearing her speak. As he had noticed that the can she held was some sort of spray bottle. Though by the time she had sprayed him in the eyes, he had figured it out too late. She had maced him while sarcastically and dully saying 'oops'.

He almost writhed in pain as he covered his eyes and tried to the pepper spray out of his eyes. "That was way more than enough!" He said, taking a few minutes to actually get the pepper spray dulled out enough so that he could open one eye at minimum.

Though once he noticed that she had extended her hand as to ask for a handshake with some sort of facial expression, though he couldn't tell what it was. He would reach out to shake her hand as well as trying to get more of the spray out of his eyes.

Rita could be a bitch at times, The pepper spray scene was a perfect example. The Fairy just did not know how to deal with unappealing situations without giving some one a bruise in the process, but it was all normal to her. She had a temper and did not think as much as a normal girl but that was who she was, And her guild mates had to tolerate her either way.

Rita patted him on the back a little bit to hard and walked off to find the client who was loitering in the back of the home. Once there she gladly turned in the finished job and accepted the reward offered before she left her client with a brief handshake, heading back to the guildhall. They had finished that job just in time, Storm clouds rolled in and rain began to pour. It had not been to difficult of job. She managed to walk out of it without any scrapes and more money in her pocket.
