Spy Criminal Watch (Deniel)

"First mission, don't screw this up." Deniel spoke to himself as he entered oak town. He had somewhat of a blank expression on his face, and he had taken on his first job. The first one that caught his eye. Spy on a person, don't get caught, and then get paid. The client was anonymous, but he wasn't about to get picky. The streets were filled with people walking them, interacting with each other, or doing whatever they wished. Deniel seemed to be the only one who was doing nothing but walking ahead of him. Several people glanced at him, as they found it a little unusual. He didn't mind, though, he simply kept walking ahead of himself, thinking on what kinds of things he will encounter on this mission. He walked to a location he was told to meet the client at, a small alleyway. He looked towards it for a second, and then walked inside. He was about halfway through, and saw no one in front and behind him. "Huh.....now that's unusual." Suddenly, Deniel heard a voice behind him, a person hidden in the shadows was standing there the whole time. "Deniel?"

Deniel jumped in surprise, turning himself around to face whoever it was. "Woah there! Relax, relax!" He didn't relax, though. He kept his eyes on the person, not letting his guard down. "Is that any way to treat your client?" The person in the shadows was hidden, but a smirk could be seen on his face. Deniel stared at him with suspicious eyes for a few seconds, but let his guard down and relaxed himself. He crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow. "Giving the person who is going to get the job done a jump isn't really the best way to treat them, either." The client gave a small chuckle. "Touché. That does not matter, however. What matters is that you get this job done. It is nearing the afternoon, and the person will be in the center of town in a couple of moments. You know what to do. Find him, follow him, and tell me of any suspicious activity. Once you're finished, return here. And don't get caught, damn it!"

"Understood." Deniel stood there, staring at the client, and the client stared back. The two were at a an awkward silence. "Well!? What are you waiting for!? Go after him!" He remained silent, before shifting himself a bit. "I have a bit of time to spare. Plus, I was more concerned about a couple of facts. You say this man is suspicious because he's wearing black clothing? I find that a little offensive, because I do as well." The client just noticed that Deniel wore black clothing as well. "W-well....I....I" Deniel uncrossed his arms, he wasn't done just yet. "Not to mention, I find it a little fishy that you want to remain anonymous and that you want me to meet you in a dark alleyway. In all honesty: It seems like you're the suspicious one here. Whatever, though, that's probably another mystery. What I'll just get this job done, so long as I get paid." Deniel turned away and gave a wave over his shoulder with a jerk of his wrist and his index and middle fingers sticking out, almost like a salute. The client stood there in angered silence, bull-rushed by the person he hired. "He's got some nerve!"

Once again, Deniel found himself wandering the streets. He was repeating to himself what the client had told him and about the job information. "Center of town. Afternoon. Man dressed in black. Follow him, but don't get caught. Find out what he's up to." That was the last part Deniel said, and it gave him a bit of a loophole that he could use later on. This job would be easier than the client might have expected it.

After a few moments of walking, Deniel was at the center of town. Where he needed to be. This wasn't going to be as easy as he thought. The center of town was full of people, and several of them were dressed in black. How could he find the appropriate one? The client did say suspicious activity, but there was none. Everyone was simply talking to one another, sitting down and relaxing, or buying items from merchants. Merchants........"That's it!" Deniel said that a little too loud, and quickly covered his mouth. Luckily for him, no one seemed to notice that he was talking to himself. He took his hand off of his mouth and looked around. This time, he wasn't going to think out loud. "The client said that he was most likely stealing his jewels, that means he has to be doing something with them. And in an area with merchants and tons of people, there's bound to be something going on."

Deniel continued his search through the crowd of people. He had actually circled around the place, taking a couple of notes. Six men in black so far. None with suspicious acti-" Before he could finish, Deniel heard someone give off a scream. A woman. He hurried himself to where it came from, but didn't run to make sure he could at least stay hidden. At a merchant stand, a woman was complaining and nagging to people that her jewels were gone. She turned to most of the people surrounding her, putting the blame on people one by one. Deniel's gaze went to where other people weren't looking at. A man in black was walking away from the scene. "Bingo." He shoved a few people aside and started to follow the man dressed in black.

Deniel made sure to keep his distance away from the suspect. He needed to confirm that this was the person. Maybe he said "Bingo" a little too early. It might be another coincidence, after all. He saw the person stop by a merchant stand. Deniel stopped by one quite a bit of distance away from it. He didn't want to make himself look suspicious after all. "Good afternoon, sir! How may I help you?" Deniel stared up at the merchant, and then at the suspect. He was moving again. "Uhhh, nothing. Just.....just browsing." Deniel hurried away. He needed to make sure he stayed on task. He walked past the merchant stand that the suspect was at. And, like the one before, a person was complaining about their jewels being stolen. And, once again like the one before, the man wearing black was getting away from the scene. Deniel stared at the scene for a moment, and then followed.

Definitely suspicious activity, but third time's the charm. Before Deniel could assume, he had to be completely sure. Deniel kept on following the man, still making sure to keep his distance. The suspect, however, was getting suspicious that someone had been following him. He glanced behind himself to see Deniel waling the same direction. Although he was quite the distance, the suspect found it unusual. Like Deniel, he wanted to be sure before to assume anything. The chase was on. Whoever discovered who first would lose. Should Deniel be discovered, he would lose the target. Should the target be discovered, then Deniel would get the job done.

Strangely enough, this chase was going around in a circle. The target was simply leading Deniel around the center of town, and Deniel would pass by the people yelling about their stolen jewels several times. To make sure he didn't get caught, Deniel sometimes went the other way only to meet him once again. The two were on to each other, but neither one made the move. However, Deniel decided that in order to end this, he'll need to make a bold move. And in order to make the bold move, he'll need more information.

He approached the first scene, where the extremely cranky and unpleasant woman was still yelling at everyone else. Deniel decided to approach her. "Ma'm, may I ask you how many jewels were stolen from you?" The woman put her hands on her hips. "HUMPH! Why do YOU need to know!? For all I know, YOU could have stolen it!" Deniel clenched his fist, but held back his anger as he usually did. He couldn't cause a scene himself. "If you ever want the real culprit to be caught then I suggest you cooperate!" The women glared right at Deniel and crossed her arms. "HUMPH! Fine! It was 250 jewels." Deniel took a deep breath and gave her a pat on the shoulder. "Thank you. That's all I-" "YOU DID NOT JUST TOUCH ME!" The woman began shouting at Deniel, and he began to awkwardly back away as the crowd stared at him. It was getting awkward.

Deniel turned his back to the crowd and the woman and disappeared once again. 250 jewels. Now he needed to find the other victim. As he was making his way towards the other side of the center of town, he suddenly ran into the person that he had been pursuing all along. Deniel was looking down, adjusting one of his gloves, when suddenly he felt himself run into someone. He looked up to see a person dressed in all black, staring straight at him. They were at the same height, seeing eye-to-eye. Deniel's red eyes gazed straight into the suspect's green eyes. They knew who each other was, but decided to keep it cool. Deniel nodded at him and walked past him. "Excuse me, sir. I've got business to take care of."

Deniel walked across the center of the area, towards the second person who had their jewels stolen. This one wasn't as obnoxious, but people were still making a scene about it. "Who could have stolen it? I could have sworn that it was there a second ago, and then BAM, it was gone!" There was a circle of people surrounding him, and he was near a merchant stand. Deniel approached him just like he did the last person. "How much?" "E-....excuse me?" How much was stolen?" "It was about 200 jewels." Deniel nodded and walked away from the crowd. At least this person was more cooperative. Now time to get the culprit.

"450 jewels. If this person really is responsible, that's about how much I'll find on him." Deniel was walking away from the spot he was at, after questioning the person about how much jewels the thief stole. With enough information and suspicion at its peak, Deniel only needed to catch him. That was the problem, however. The suspect was already on to Deniel, and even witnessed Deniel questioning the victims. He was on the move, away from the town square, and that was something Deniel didn't know. He was busy searching the center, when the culprit was long gone. He circled the place one entire time, but couldn't find him. It was only then that Deniel realized that he was gone. He started to panic. He couldn't fail this job, he had come too far and it was his first one. He wasn't going to fail.

Luckily for himself, Deniel had a trick up his sleeve. He didn't think he would have to do this, but resorting to his magic was his only option. He closed his eyes for a few moments, and then opened them once again. "Nephalem eyes." Deniel's right eye was unchanged, but his left one became a sky-blue color. This gave Deniel a sight beyond sight, enhancing his reflexes. More importantly, he could see far ahead of himself. He exited the center of town and used this to his advantages. Every time he would enter a new area, he would see far ahead of himself to make sure he wasn't searching every single inch. He went to the right first, and looked ahead of himself with his sight, seeing nothing. He headed down to another street, and used it once again. Nothing. He repeated this action several times, until he finally saw who he was looking for.

The culprit was reaching his hand into someone's pocket, ready to steal more jewels. That is, until he felt a hand grab his wrist. He looked up in surprise, his heart beating fast. It was Deniel. He had been caught. Deniel stared down at him with his Nephalem eyes, and with a smirk on his face. "Game over, pal. You've lost." The suspect sighed, moving his arm away from the person he was about to rob. The person, for a strange reason, remained ignorant of what was happening. "You got me. I'll go without question" Deniel was a little unconvinced, with his hand still on the man's wrist. The only thing visible was the man's eyes, which he had seen before. Along with his black clothes, he had a hood on to conceal most of his face. "Fine. You make one wrong move, however, and I wont hesitate to make a move."

The man in the hood and blank clothes simply nodded. "Understood. I understand that I am caught. I wont try and run. All good things come to an end, it seems." Deniel grabbed the man's other wrist and put them both behind his back. "Get going. Follow my exact directions." Deniel pushed the man forward and began to walk behind him as he walked ahead. The job was complete. All that was left to do is get this guy back to the client and claim his reward.

"Take a right here. Left right here. Another right. Straight. Right. Right. And now take a right here." Deniel had been giving directions to the criminal. He finally arrived at the location of his client, where he was before. A dark alleyway. "Come on out, I know you're here." Deniel looked around the alleyway. No reply. "Alright, fine. I guess I'll let this guy though." Suddenly, out of the shadows, the client appeared once again. "I must congratulate you, Mr. Thorman. You've successfully completed the mission." Deniel shoved the criminal away from himself towards the client. The man caught him, and kept one of his hands on his wrists like Deniel did. "Piece of cake, but before I take my reward and get going, let's hear this guy's side of the story. Not only was he stealing from you, but also others. If you'll check his pocket, he's stolen at least 450 jewels. That will be the proof that it's him. I caught him sneaking his hand into someone's pocket, and that's the total that's been stolen when I was there."

In order to make sure Deniel was right, the client reached his hand inside the man's pocket. Like Deniel said, he pulled out exactly 450 jewels. "Caught in the act. Acting suspicious. And finally, having the exact same amount of money stolen. Mission accomplished."

"Well, it looks like he is caught. Thank you very much, Deniel. Is there anyting else you need?" Deniel nodded, getting closer to him and the culprit. "Like I said, I wanted to hear this guy's side of the story. What do you have to say for yourself? Why are you stealing so much?" The man struggled a bit in the client's grip, but decided it was no use. He sighed and answered Deniel. "Because I can't make any money any other way. I can't get any work, and being a thief seems to be the only thing I can do. Plus........I need it for something else. My.....my family." "Interesting. Well, I'm at least sorry that you can no longer support them, but this is my job, and I intend to get it done. Now then......" Deniel was about to mention his reward, but the client had already held out his other hand with 750 jewels in it. "Take it and go already."

"Don't be so unfriendly....but whatever. My job here is done. Do what you want with him." Deniel took the money from his hands and gave another wave over his shoulder as he turned around and walked out of the alleyway. He counted up the reward money and nodded. Satisfied and done with everything, he left the scene and shoved the jewels in his pocket. "First mission done."
