Mr. Pong is the old owner of the small neighbourhood Magnolia 'Herbal Magic' Apothecary. After completing a job for him by retrieving a rare medicinal flower and in a massive quantity, Aldous not only got his payment for the work, but also managed to receive a lifetime membership of free herbal treatment so long as he continues patronizing the store. Mr. Pong is noted for his bent back, wearing a very blurred monocle that he constantly cleans and is rejuvenated whenever he has herbs in his hands, revealing surprisingly great strength. Mr. Pong is, if the picture does not imply it already, a little violent in protecting his shop. 
After the time-skip, booming business from the large supply of the flowers has allowed Mr. Pong to renovate his shop, such that it had two stories now, with the second floor being used partly as further storage and partly as a renting place for lodgers who are not picky about the smell. Aldous is one of those people.

Locker, Sergeant Rune Knight of the 10th Custody Enforcement Unit, is a by-the-books, upright member of the Rune Knights. In charge of enforcing the Rune Knight's custody when magical crimes occur in the various villages together with his unit, Locker is not particularly high-ranking, but he is well-known among the lower ranks for his courage to stand up to even the most overpowering of rebels and his skill with the Rune Knight staff is proficient enough for him to be appointed as the main combat instructor in his unit. After meeting Aldous at the Beanstalk Village involving an incident with the village's crops and dutifully facing up to him when Aldous tried to enter, Locker has found himself impressed by Aldous' skill at taking down the Dark Magic that affected the fields and has from then on retained contact with the mage, acting as his somewhat reluctant informant regarding Rune Knight and Dark Mage activity, as well as happenings in the village regions.

Garrotte - A former pirate captain, Garrotte is the loyal and self-sacrificing leader of a group of very close pirates who robbed a shipping company in one of Aldous' jobs. In the process of completing the job, Garrotte was captured by the Rune Knights and forced to watch as Aldous slaughters the rest of his crew-mates when they try to save him. As a result of their loyalty to one another, Aldous declared that they had gained his respect, but in Garrotte's eyes, Aldous' respect is worth jack-shit. After he is spared by Aldous, Garrotte has escaped the authorities and is now waiting for a chance to get back at Aldous for what he had done. Garrotte is known for using trench-knives, has eyes the colour of dead bark and a full blonde goatee. He is also especially quick, having been a Quick Bandit enemy type.
After the time-skip, Garrotte has improved his skills such that he is equivalent to a high C-rank fighter(Boss-Level), using magical bombs, trench-knifes imbued with magical lacrima and has gathered a new group of C-rank bandits that he treats just as loyally as his past group. He may appear as an enemy in Aldous' quests.
