Strange Vulcans p. 1(Job, Cirven and Mary)

Cirven sat in the Sabertooth guildhall bored out of his mind. He looked up to the ceiling for ideas for something to do but couldn't figure out much. Kiersa and his sister had gone off together and left him which wasn't too strange seeing as they were teammates. He thought that it would be good to get some time away from his sister anyways with how things had been between them. He then yawned into his hand and looked over to the job board. "Guess I should do something that is productive.." He got up from his chair and looked over the board for any possible jobs that caught his eye.

He pulled a piece of paper off the board and looked it over. "Vulcans stealing food from villages. Need to be stopped before they hurt someone." He spoke out some of the words. "Sounds easy enough really. Maybe I should bring Mary along with me." He looked around the room for the demon nun. She was a new member to their team but he felt like she still had a sort of fear of him. He wanted to make an attempt to change that and show her that he wanted to help her. "I can't sense her in here at all much less see her. Wonder if she went with Kiersa and Aalya.." He shrugged and started to make his way out of the guildhall.

Mary was enjoying the beautiful view at one of the guild bridges. It was so high up it felt like they were in the heavens overlooking at the mortals. Was it a blasphemous thought? Maybe, ut it was such a nice sounding one. Mary adjusted her hat as it was almost taken by the gentle breeze and sighed, she could sure use a doughnut by now. Maybe even a strawberry cream filled one. Maybe if she looked hard there could be one left in the kitchen.

You glutton.

Shut up!

She started to run towards the guildhall door and up the stairs until the door opened up and she crashed into Cirven. His bigger mass threw her back, down the stairs and over the railing. She would have plummetted into the ground if she did not grab unto the bar on time. She knew that Flame Demon Slayer was trying to kill him! And now dangling for dear life at the edge, she would be put at the mercy of a slayer of Demons. It was a fairly decent life and maybe by this her soul could be purified and returned to the Makers side. This would be a fairly quick death after all...

He didn't notice the girl running towards him suddenly because he was reading up on the job he was about to take from the piece of paper he held up in front of him. "Oof!" He almost dropped the paper and stumbled a little after she bumped into him. "Hey watch where you.. Mary?!" Without thinking he ran up to her and pulled her back onto the platform and into his arms.

"Are you, OK?" He spoke out as he completely forgot how close they had gotten to each other. After a few seconds his mind trailed off from the danger they had just avoided and to how close he was holding her. A red blush started to come over his face even though he tried to not show it. "I.. Uhhh... Sorry." He let go of her and backed up a couple steps.

His mind trailed off to how it felt holding her that close but he stopped himself and pointed to the paper in his hand. "I was.. About to.." He shook his head and calmed down. He felt like he was becoming Kiersa suddenly like he was ashamed of something. "I was about to go on a job and was looking for you because I was wondering if you wanted to join me on it."

Mary was back over the right side of the ledge and was breathing heavily. She thought she was going to die right there and then. Life was already going to be fairly short for the demon, so might as well try to live most of it. Mary was still a little wary of the Flame Demon Slayer and watched him closely, mostly the blade at his side. The demon then proceeded to look at the ledge and sweatdropped in embarrassment. She wish that did not happen...

Mary read the note and her eyes lit up. A way to help people? This was something that she waited for, but it involved hunting vulcans. Was she ready for this kind of challenge? The power in her veins was not what one could call good magic, but maybe she could use it for such? Was she powerful enough to defeat a Vulcan? She looked up to the mage and simply nodded before a large stomach rumble could be heard. Yes she was hungry for doughnuts...

"Hehehehe..."

Mary was embarrased at that action, but otherwise she was ready for this mission. It was a chance to prove oneself that she was not evil and could control the darkness within her. To be able to help others again like at the convent and to find peace within her. It never hurt to have wishful thinking did it?

He smiled at her as he heard her stomach. He remembered how it was to be alone after the attack on his town in the past and how his stomach used to growl the same way for days until he met his foster parents. Maybe that was why he wanted to help Mary so much. "Wait here for a second." He ran off quickly and returned minutes later with two bags.

"Here." He held out one of the bags to her. "We have a decently long ride so I packed us some food. I managed to get you two of the biggest doughnuts they had left. Also there is a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in here too. Didn't know if you would want that but had to think fast so I just got you the sweetest a most filling thing I could think of. Hope it works."

After giving her the food the two would use the teleport pad to get to the ground below and take a cart to their destination; a village outside of the Spooky Forest. He couldn't help but feel how childish the name of the forest was but knew he couldn't deny the danger it actually posed for them.

Mary still panting for a breath of air after the near death experience, but was feeling much better. She was just glad her hat did not get blown off and lost to the ground below. She loved that hat, it allowed her to cover her pointed demonic ears that nobody discovered yet. She sighed a bit of relief and accepted the doughnuts, "Thank you!" This almost completely made the demon girl forget about the the fact his career was to kill demons. Instead she happily got on the teleporter and to the town. She already was grabbing the first doughnut from the bag and started to happily eat it.

Mary then walked to the edge of the Spooky Forest and ahead of Cirven. Mary called out to the Slayer, "Come on slow poke! Let's go save some hungry people from starvation!" It was right at that moment a Vulcan jumped right on top of Mary and made her fall on top of the lunch Cirven worked so hard to get for her. The Vulcan then growled and attempted to attack Cirven. Mary however was angry, she was hungry and now the food was gone...

She intended to avenge the doughnut when she got up.

'Monster Dice' :

He was surprised she was so easy to convince to do something or to even make happy with a simple doughnut. He made sure to remember that just in case anything happened in the future. He barely ate any of his food, only eating the sandwich he had and leaving the doughnuts. He thought of giving them to Mary later if anything. He wasn't much for sweets really and only grabbed them out of being in a rush.

Once the two arrived near the village he attempted to go to see the client for the job but was rushed by the demon nun to go to the forest first. "Mary! Wait! We have to-" He stopped speaking as he saw the vulcan appear in front of her and knock her down.

Without talking he quickly reacted by using his propulsion spell to launch himself in between the beast and Mary. He then struck the primate with his katana blade. The vulcan jumped back grasping at the blood that seeped through the wound on his chest. "Are you OK Mary?" Cirven kept his front to the vulcan and looked over his shoulder at Mary as he spoke to her.

The vulcan then let out an enraged roar that echoed through the area and the forest. Seconds later the sound of the trees being rustled through came from the forest they were facing. "They are this close to the village? Isn't that weird..."

'Monster Dice' :

Mary was on the ground face first in the dirt as the Vulcan messed her day up. Not only was she beaten, but the doughnut was gone. The pure innocent doughnut that did nothing to the Vulcans was brutally murdered instead of eaten and enjoyed by Mary. They were smashed, trampled and forever gone to her. And thats why was why when she got up, it was with a scream. The demon yelled, "HOW DARE YOU RUIN MY DOUGHNUTS! YOU MUST ALL DIE!" Mary got on her feet and took off her hat, revealing her pointy ears to everyone. In fact they looked exactly the same as Cirven's ears! She tossed the hat onto a nearby branch

With a yell, a 2 pentagrams formed on her legs and they transformed, demonic scales growing over her skin and the muscle getting denser. Mary however felt the darkness infect her, it was sickening but it felt good. It felt like power pumped into her body and told her to go on. Become the demon and feel pleasurable power A vulcan was about ready to hit Mary accross the face, but Mary ducked before her head was taken off by the Vulcan. There was a mischievous sm9ile on her face though...

...A demon's smile.

He felt as if his words were lost to the girl as she bolted up to her feet and threw her hat off. "Mary?!" He turned to look at her as she was in her fit of rage after she threw her hat off. "Don't be too reckless!" He wasn't able to stop her from moving but he hoped she heard his words that time.

A grin came over his face as he saw her run at the enemy in front of them. He had not seen anyone with ears like his before and it was a good feeling to finally see someone like him. He snapped out of his thought as a vulcan's fist came flying at him. He didn't have much time to dodge but managed to duck under the fist. "Flame Demon's Talons." He spoke out under his breath causing white flames to engulf his katana blade and then slashed the vulcan's chest in front of him. Where the blade had cut the vulcan had white flames around it that blew up into a small explosion and sent the vulcan flying into the forest.

He looked towards where Mary was as he heard more movement inside of the forest near them.

'Monster Dice' :

Mary smiled even more, it was obvious that she was in the demonic influence of her magic. The Demon nun formed 2 sigils on her arms and the were soon morphing into terrible demonic claws. She was slowly turning into a demon, but Mary was not caring. It was intoxicating, powerful and felt so good. The blood of the 2 vulcans stirred something inside her, a dark animalistic instinct inside her. There was no answer back to Civen instead there was just an animalistic charge as she dived towards the smallest Vulcan and ripped its throat out in a way that it splashed all over Mary in a crimson blood fountain. She enjoyed this, every second of it. It flared her senses to new heights as the create struggled to survive. It practically pleaded to be let go...

...But Mary would show no such mercy as she simply pulled very hard and ripped off the child vulcans head off. She then threw them at the feet of the Vulcans which for a brief second gave them pause. The demon figure was hunched over their child with a giant grin on her face, pupils completely white as Ursulla was currently the one in control. However Cirven did not know that yet... It looked like this was all Mary in control.

There was no response from his partner which was completely unlike her. He took his view off of her as the sounds of beast moving in the forest got closer to where they were. Three vulcans came out from the forest each with a sort of attack on Cirven. He was caught off guard by the number of attacks in unison and only managed to jump back and dodge the first two attacks from the claws of the beasts. A third adult vulcan swung his fist at the blue-haired slayer as he was still in the air from jumping back, connecting with his side and sending him rolling on the ground from the force.

"OK.. So they might be stronger than I thought." He spoke out as he managed to regain his footing and clutched at his side where he was hit. Before he could keep talking he looked towards Mary who had just ripped the head off one of the vulcans. He knew it wasn't right but a part of him enjoyed seeing the display of gore but the other part was against hurting the beasts in such a way unless necessary. "Mary!" He also noticed the new arms and legs the girl now had and could feel the demonic power coming from them. "I know we are here to stop them but if we could avoid killing them I think it would be best. Especially the smaller ones." He yelled towards her and hoped to get some sort of response. He was trying to scare the monkey-like beasts away instead of killing them but Mary might have been on to another way of scaring them even though he didn't fully approve.

The two other vulcans from earlier jumped into a rage and started to move towards the pink-haired demon nun. Cirven took a deep breath as a white magic circle formed in front of him. His cheeks puffed up and some white flames came out from the sides of his mouth for a short time but then was released while being aimed at the two vulcans. "Flame Demon's Rage!!" The flames hit the two beasts and stopped them for a short time in their pursuit of Mary.

Mary started humming a song, it was so much fun! The blood, pain and misery sorrounding her was intoxicating! The Vulcans were too slow in their movements, but would catch up soon. The bloodlusting demon could not hear anything but the pumping of blood and screams of agony. The Vulcans that were on fire were fine victims for the slaughter. Hence another seal formed on Mary's body as the taint spread further, she was panting from the pure rush she was getting. So with a burst of speed and outstreatched claws on both her sides, she dodged the vulcans attempt to claw at her and dived between them. However she did not go through them without disemboweling them first. Their intestines and guts fell into the ground as they took a few more steps before choking in their own blood.

Mary however jumped into the trees and simply camoflauged is the shadows, there was no smell, no sound coming from her or anywhere in the forest. Well nothing except the last 3 vulcans rushing straight for Cirven. She watched and waited for the opportunity to strike like the alpha predator that she was. They were such easy kills that this will be fun to tear them appart and smell their blood. All that tasty and delicious blood.

'Monster Dice' :

Cirven started to move towards the two vulcans as they were still distracted by the flames that had hit them from his attack but was too slow. Mary had added more to her form again looking more demonic and then attacked the two vulcans, clawing straight through them. Cirven couldn't help but feel that something wasn't right with her. "Mary are you OK?"

His words seemed to not reach her again as she jumped into the darkness of the nearby trees. He was amazed at how strong she was all of a sudden and the form she had taken brought on a complete change to her personality but even with all of that he still couldn't help but feel like he enjoyed it. A feeling of joy warmed his stomach as he saw her attack them but he didn't want to admit it. Was this his demon side enjoying the gore?

His focus shifted from Mary to the three vulcans that charged at him from the forest. They came at him in a line and each swung out to attack him with their claws after each other. He managed to block one attack but his katana was knocked away from in front of him after he blocked which left himself open to the next claw slashing across his chest. He managed to shake the pain off from the claw and dodge the last attack. He held his hand over the claw marks where the were. The sight of his own blood caused the feeling in his stomach to get warmer and a thought crossed his mind. "Kill them." A voice rang out in his head and a smile came over his face.

He ran towards the three vulcans as he caused the Kukan to change form into the Agneya. A big amount of flames built over the blade and he slashed it out horizontally over the three vulcans. "Absolution." His voice had changed to a darker tone as he spoke. He then turned the hilt so that the blade was pointing to the three vulcans who were still dazed by the first attack and started to swing it across. "Purge Art: Expurgation." The flames on the blade shot out from it and engulfed the three beasts into fire causing them to fall to the ground as charred corpses.

Cirven then fell to one knee and grabbed his stomach. His eyes widened as he tried to figure out what just came over him. "What... Was.. That..?"

'Monster Dice' :

Mary was in the dark, it comforted her deeply. Nobody could see her, not even the tiny vulcan that got pounced from what appeared out of nowhere, Mahoneys eyes yellow from the final bit of transformation, she was in full demon mode now. And her lineage finally triggered, increasing her strength three times over. The small vulcan did not even have a chance to squeel before its throat was gutted. She was the predator... and the vulcans were prey, She stalked the lack vulcan using her magic to make her invisible, anf followed the last vulcan. It was a game of cat and mouse between them. The last vulcan came out of hiding and attempted to charge Cirven, but Mary charged first. Claws first she dived at speed of shadows and clawed through it. The force of impact was so strong that the chest cavity exploded and Mary ran through the vulcan and into Cirvens arms.

Mary was drunk from all the blood and purred in Cirven's arms. She was covered head to toe in the blood of Vulcans and giggled slightly. Mary happily chimed, "Looks at all this blood Cirven! Isn't it beautiful?" Mary stroked her claw over from Cirvens cheeks to his lips, allowing him to taste the blood. She leaned a bit closer to Cirven and whispered, "You know after all the gruff personality, you are kind of cute..." Soon her body reverted back to being a blood drenched human in her typical clothing and fell asleep in Cirvens arms, using Take Over was tiring work after all...

He stared down at the ground in thought to try and figure out what the feeling was. He looked around at the mess that the fight against the vulcans had caused and saw the stained ground all around him. Then it hit him. It was the blood. His mouth started to salivate as he saw the blood. "I want to taste it.." He started to reach out to some of the splatter of the life liquid but stopped himself. "No. I'm not doing that." He remembered that Inuki had warned him during his training to fight against his urges.

He started to stand back up and looked towards a lone vulcan that ran towards him. He readied himself to strike the beast but it was quickly dealt with by his partner who then jumped into his arms and knocked him over. "Ahh! Mary!"

His eyes locked onto hers as she spoke and he couldn't turn them away. There was something about her being covered in blood to him. He knew that it probably was the demon side of him being affected by it mostly but couldn't control it. She rubbed her clawed hand on his face and started to move the claw towards his mouth where he willingly let it move inside. The taste was extraordinary to him. The sweetness and even the texture of the blood was just perfect. She moved in closer to him and whispered into his ear. "Uhh.. Yeah.." He felt weird from holding her the way he was but did so anyways.

"So do you.." He stopped speaking as she changed to her regular self and fell asleep in his arms. "Now what do I do..?" He mumbled out loud and decided to just hold the girl until she woke up. It wasn't like he could do much else with how they looked.

He would later go to the village and get their reward for dealing with the vulcans. He would make sure to clean up before going to the village though just so they didn't look so intimidating walking through it.
