Hargeon town. It was a place he hadn't been back to since the destruction of Lamia Scale. The place was still a mess, but...he had felt the urge to come back here at least one time before he moved on to the new guild that had taken him in. He wasn't sure why he was drawn in. Like normal with Zack he didn't think things through much. He just went by instinct. He sighed deeply as he walked along the side of a stone pier that had somehow survive the destruction. After a while though he sat down on the edge and stared at his reflection. He wasn't alone here of course, Devon as usual was sitting in his pocket, and now she flew out and sat on his shoulder.
"Remember when we first met Devon? Back before I lost my eye?" he asked looking at her and she nodded. "It was in this very town, around this area, you were looking for a powerful warrior to aid your people and you found me."
"Your power I believed was enough, but I thought you were an idiot. Turns out I was right about both points." she said with a grin. She was trying to cheer him up. It was unlike Zack to be down. It just wasn't in his style.
"I'm not normally one for looking back, but my time in Malkariss was probably one of the best times of my life." he said as he blew on the water causing it to ripple slightly.
