Earthland....and beyond

Pain once more walked through the city of Rose Garden, his home, the place where he fought and bled to get ahead. A growl emitted from his chest at the annoyance of ever having to come back to this city. Moving through the street, his coat hanging off his shoulders, arm's swaying at his sides. His bare chest showing the barbaric tattoos he had gained over the years in this city. Each one meant something on the streets. However one tattoo stood out above all else. The fairy tail tattoo on the right side of his face. it covered the entire right side, over his eye, down the middle of his nose, half his lip, down his chin, and finished on the right side of his neck.

The large six footer pushed through the gathering crowd, he was here to collect his passport and get out of the city as fast as possible. The city noises, flashing lights, dark alleys. Memories of his time as an enforcer on these streets for the gang he ran in filled his mind. He gritted his teeth and prayed that he wouldn't meet any of his former gang members while he was in town. Hs eyes flicked up and once more he was reminded of the bane this city was. He couldn't even see the stars in the sky, it was a nightmare to be in this place.  Stopping, he looked at the long line of people fighting and pushing to get their passports to Earthland and beyond.

Growling he leaned against a wall and crossed his arms. He was debating waiting which would take days or just pushing through. One was the right thing to do, the other the fastest. Looking around the city, he felt anger burning inside his core. This place was heaven to the rich, hell to the poor, and limbo to everyone else. Closing his eyes he let his mind run to the paths and choices he had made here. Pain at seven fighting a group of boys, at ten joining a gang, at thirteen robbing a woman in a alley, fifteen, breaking bones to impress people he hated, seventeen, leaving the gang and having to fight his way out. His eyes opened and for a moment he saw all the faces of the people he broke, robbed, and hurt. Blinking they vanished leaving him with the memories of his deeds. Growling he pushed off the wall.

Pain sighed looking at the town bored out of his mind. Fighting the memories that flooded his mind from the sounds and lights of the city. Moving through the crowd, he had enough waiting. His size he stood out like a sore thumb so he might as well use it. Pushing and shoving his way through the line, he took in the people who glared before they saw who pushed them and backed away. Walking up the lines, it soon opened up in front of him.

Coming to the desk he leaned down looking at the person behind the desk. Signing his name for the passport, he stepped back as his image was taken. Getting his papers, he looked it over and scowled at the picture. Handing it back he demanded another picture be taken of him. Once more, with a jittery hand, the photographer took a picture. This time trying to get as much of the man in the picture as he could. A shaking hand handed him his passport. This time taking it he looked down and smiled.

"Pain!" His eyes closed he sighed as he realized he had been spotted and recognized. Turning, he saw the face of one of the gang members he use to run with. His dress put him as someone that was still running with them. Pain turned to walk away and made it a few steps before the man ran up and started talking to him. Closing his eyes he tried to ignore him. Stopping, he turned and looked the guy in the eyes. "Leave" His voice boomed out making the man step back. The mans face turned angry and he turned running off.
