Truth In Advertising [Amber and Sapphire] Empty Truth In Advertising [Amber and Sapphire]

Post by Ione 27th August 2024, 7:16 pm

Hi there! Ione here, still homeless, I mean undecided on my personal place of residence. Just in case you were wondering. Were you? Wondering, I mean. Probably not, no one worries about Ione. But Ione is okay with that! She doesn’t care about anyone right back, so everything balances in the end.

Wait, crap, Ione is talking in the third person now. Does that mean Ione is going crazy? Let’s not think about that.

ANYWAY, so Ione was in Clover Town because of reasons only Past Ione was aware of. Not that Clover Town was bad or anything, in fact it was quite lovely. You know, because of all the clovers or whatever. Did Clover Town actually have clovers growing in it? If not then they needed to change the name because that would be false advertising and false advertising is illegal. And since this is the big fancy home of the fancy pants Rune Cops, doing something so blatantly illegal would be bad, right? Right.

    Ooo, a red flower!

Taking a moment to smell the flower, Ione appreciated the calm of the town. The Glyph Knights seemed to be doing a good job of keeping the town quiet and as crime free as one could. That was nice. Already she could feel her strained nerves relaxing like they usually did when she took a warm bath. Which had been awhile ago now that she thought about it. Just one of the many downsides to having chosen a life of freedom from property taxes. Even if she had not really had a choice in the matter.

On the bright side, the rat she had for breakfast was surprisingly tender. Haha, no Ione hadn’t really had a rat for breakfast. That would be gross. No, really. Promise.

    Ooo, a yellow flower!

Wait, Ione realized she hated the color yellow today. No smelling the yellow flower. She could smell it tomorrow if it was still there. Tomorrow felt like a green day. Future Ione just really did not like green, which, who could blame her? Green is just so… green. Unlike red, red was delightfully red.

Hadn’t she passed a red flower? Oh, maybe she could go smell it again! Yes. Deciding this was the best idea Present Ione had had in the last forty two point five six minutes (she had counted), she went back to where she had seen the red flower and took another sniff.

Yup, it still smelled red. It was a good smell. As she turned to leave, a scream came from the house she had been smelling. Well, the flowers, not the house itself. That would be weird, and Ione was a completely normal girl.

“Fire, fire!” yelled a middle aged (and thus positively ancient) man running out of the building. “Our lantern chain just suddenly disappeared and spilled burning oil everywhere! Someone call the Rune Knights!”

“O-oh my,” Ione said to herself quietly. “What a remarkable coincidence. I should… probably get out of their way.”

Not wanting to be around when the Glyph Corps showed up to investigate, she turned and began calmly walking away from the building that was now smoking something fierce. Yes, a completely calm walk. Not at all a semi panicked half run. Nope, she was the picture of an innocent bystander she was.

    Sapphire & Amber:

Like any other rationally sane person, the best time of the workday was the clockout time and it couldn't have come any sooner. It isn't to say that neither of the twins really disliked their job, but some patrol locals were just immensely worse than others. That being said, being stationed for a while in Clover Town was truly like being thrown into its own prison sentence. If not for the military type of board they were accommodated with, it might have been much more troublesome for either of the girls to have found themselves liking or disliking the utter disgrace for an economy in this town. Their pay barely had covered many of the cheaper end food and grocery places. If not for the fact they had been placed on a suspension of jobs due to a rather unfortunate action with Amber's "recklessness", than maybe they could afford even some subpar dining. However, that really wasn't what they had been bummed out by today. For the most part, the day seemed to be pretty well; their off day of patrol was today, the weather was at it's peak of phenomenal, and the town wasn't being sieged by dark guilds or otherwise nefarious people who wanted to do any sort of crime either big or small! The best part was not being called over in a panic only for yet ANOTHER cat in a tree. If Sapphire had to guess, they probably started hiding away in the trees trying to get away from their crazed owners, but she couldn't speak catonese, so who really knew.

"Did you remember to bring your wallet? It's your turn for lunch." One of the bunny girls spoke up, leaning against a wall in the middle of the town. Seated nearby had been another bunny girl, strikingly identical to the first in appearance, save for the length and style in which their hair was to one another. The most distinct thing about the twin knights had been that and their general personalities. "Haha... uh.. about that one, sis..." The light, nervous head rubbing and chuckle only made the other knight sigh aloud, rolling her eyes and then shaking her head in disappointment. "You're lucky you're required to eat or I would have already gone to get food without you."

Their conversation had been cut short as the panicking yell of someone caught their ears. Fire? Even off duty neither of them could ignore a call for help. Running over, both girls had retrieved their badges from their respective bags while they headed to the building quickly gaining heat. "Amber, get the people out! I'll work on the oil trail!" Without another word, the two sprung into action, working with people who were trying to also help to guide people out. Sapphire approached the leaking, spilling oil and with a hard stomp to the ground made a small section of stone protrude from under the floor and surround the oil container. Cutting off the oil trailing from the fire, Rune Knights poured in and with the help of magic and regular firefighting techniques, they managed to cease all fire.

As they exited, giving their last reports to the on duty patrolmen, the two bunny girls escaped a gathering crowd and swung around corner after corner before a thud shook the pair. Unfortunately, the poor person who ran into them would be met by a being who was part earth spirit, making for quite a solid wall to collide with. "Oh shoot, are you ok? We were kinda in a rush and I wasn't paying attention!" The apologetic sounds of the more energetic twin would leave them standing over a girl blonde haired girl with a rather strange sense of fashion if they had to admit. More so the odd two-colored bear clips in her hair. Still, Amber had done what she could to help this stranger up, looking them over in case she'd hurt them by accident.

What they both failed to realize was that they had both still been wearing their Rune Knight ID on their waists. Hopefully she didn't fear authority.

Truth In Advertising [Amber and Sapphire] Empty Re: Truth In Advertising [Amber and Sapphire]

Post by Ione 28th August 2024, 8:43 am

Amazingly no one had spotted Ione as she fled, er, gracefully walked away at a leisurely pace, from the burning building. Crisis averted, good job Ione! No one is kicking her out of town this time, perhaps she would celebrate with some cheap watery soup. Emphasis on cheap. Preferably free, as she was kind of sorta completely broke. Maybe she could just ask really, really nicely? Ione was pretty cute, if she did say so herself.

Man that red flower had been so nice, hopefully it wasn’t hurt by the fire. She’d like to smell it again in the future. Unless it was a red day of course. Red days were just the worst.

Skipping happily, Ione began to round a corner thinking of how great it was that today was not a red day, when she suddenly ran into a brick wall. Or a brick bunny she realized as she fell backwards onto her tush and looked up angrily at the offender.

Oh! Bunny! She was so cute, and fluffy, and small, it made Ione want to squeeze her until her eyes popped out. Because that’s what one did when something was unbearably cute, they needed a good squeeze. Then she noticed that there was a second bunny next to the first, and it was obvious at a glance they were sisters.

Ione had had a sister once. She had been so kind, and gentle. Always doting on Ione, and protecting her from all the bad things. Ah, if only she were here now then Ione might not be constantly struggling to survive. Alas, she was not. Remembering what had happened to her poor older sister caused Ione to start crying. She remembered that horrid moment when she lost her sister, because she had woken up from her dream.

Through tear filled eyes, she looked at the sisters again and realized they were so similar they had to be twins, which was cool! But also that they were dressed identically too, as Symbol Soldiers. That was less cool!

“It’s the popo! Cheese it!” she yelled as she got ready to run, until her own words distracted her. “Mmm cheese…”

How long had it been since Ione had some cheese? Some delicious, ooey, gooey cheese. Ah, now her mouth was watering, to the point a bit of drool dripped down her chin. Perhaps she could steal some cheese. No no, that would probably be bad. Too many cops in this town. Maybe the next town would be more open to losing a few wedges of cheese.

Wait, what was she doing again? Oh right! The bunny fuzz (hehe, animal pun). It would really, really suck if she got arrested for something she didn’t do right now. I mean, technically it had been her magic that caused the lantern to fall and start the fire, but she didn’t make it do it! It just… liked to do things like that. Clearly she needed to talk herself out of this predicament.

“H-hi! Just so you know, I am totally an ally!” she said, waving her hands all jazz style at them. “I even have a flag hanging in my room (or would if I had a room)! I fully support you two in your twincest!”

Both of the bunny girls looked to one another. Trying to see if the other had any idea of what to do, they simply exchanged a couple expressions as if they were linked minds and speaking to one another telepathically. Of course, it was something of that sort. Knowing the short hand of the others expressions of a "what?", "are they serious?", "are you kidding me?" and the like were albeit ingrained in their heads. Possibly the biggest of their perks as a set of twins aside from the ability to be confused at times. That was probably the biggest reason the pair had decided to be a little different aside from just natural personalities. Different hair lengths and styles, most clothing styles and colors, and so on.

When the girl began blurting out random gibberish, Sapphire couldn't help but put her hands on her hips. She really wasn't generally the type to deal with the bs of others. More lenient with strangers than her own sister's escapades, but when her hands moved, she realized her id still hung on her waistband. "Oh, sorry. Don't be worried. We're on our day off, but frankly when emergencies pop up, we don't want to give off ideas to make people carelessly think they can be heroes on a whim." She let off a light sigh, placing away both of their id's into their respective places and then offering a hand to help her up.

That was... until the twincest comment came up. Sapphire quickly retracted her hand, rolling her eyes and stepping away while her sister gave a quiet, but perplexed look. Shrugging, she approached and without waiting, pulled the stranger up to her feet and brushed some of the dirt off of her. "I don't know what her deal was all of a sudden, but we definitely are twins! Kinda hard not to tell to be honest, ain't it?" A cheeky, oblivious grin came to Amber's face, extending a hand for a shake. "The name's Amber. And ol' gloomy gus over there is Sapphire! We were about to go-" Immediately she was cut off, being yanked a step or two away by the other bunny girl, glaring in anger. "We're not inviting a pervert like that anywhere."

    ". . .huh? What'd she say?"

Truth In Advertising [Amber and Sapphire] Empty Re: Truth In Advertising [Amber and Sapphire]

Post by Ione 11th September 2024, 5:47 pm

While the twins were communicating in that cute twin way, Ione spent that time doing the same with Lawrence. He was not the most expressive person on account of not actually existing, yet she knew they shared a deep connection. The conversation went well, it seemed his wife had just given birth to their third child, which was a lot! Even one child seemed excessive to Ione. After all, she had been a child once and she had been terrible at it. But her mother had apparently lost the receipt and been unable to return Ione to the store, so her parents had thrown her away.

She didn’t blame them, Ione would throw Ione away too if she could. Unfortunately Ione was Ione so it just wasn’t possible. Sometimes she did find food in the trash though, that was always a good day.

The bunny girls were heroes! Well that was neat, Ione had never met heroes before. How fast could they fly? Or did they just hop really high? Hmm, yes that made sense. Bunnies were well known for their hopping. It wasn’t as cool as being able to fly, but being able to leap tall buildings in a single hop did sound fun.

Then one of the girls held out her hand like she wanted Ione to shake it or something, which sent her into a minor panic. Did Ione have the hands required to do that currently? She took a quick mental inventory: one hand, two hands, okay she had the bare minimum of hands required for a hand shake. That could have been incredibly embarrassing otherwise. But then as she was about to raise her hand, the other one called her a pervert.

“What did Ione say?” she asked, sounding angry. “What did Ione say!? No, what did Ione say? Ione can’t remember. But it was certainly not said to cover up anything bad; yes that would be silly. Especially not anything flame related. Because Ione does not like fire. A flame grilled burger would be so tasty right now. Wait, would you prefer a flame grilled carrot? Are you vegans? Rabbits are vegans, right? Ione believes in religious freedom.”

Here she had to pause to catch her breath, which reminded her that having to breath was honestly kind of a drag. That would be a cool superpower, not having to breathe. Ione would never lose a breath holding contest like that one her dad had held, when he held her head under the water for a very long time. She had lost that time because her head had turned to fire suddenly, and he had not wanted to play again after. That had been disappointing.

Not breathing still not as cool as the twin’s ability to super hop. Maybe they had other super powers? They were not vibrating so she did not think they had super speed, and since they were normal sized she ruled out getting really small. That second one was pretty lame anyway.

“Do you have x-ray vision?” she finally asked, struggling to figure out what their powers were.
