"Slavery..." Adeptus said to himself as he looked over one of the more recent jobs posted on the request board in the Sabertooth Guild hall. The young mage had not long returned from doing a handful of requests and had every intention of resting up, relaxing and getting to know his fellow guild members. Unfortunately, seeing this job frustrated the masked mage and although he assumed someone else would likely take it on and deal with it, he wasn't going to risk the chances. The young man spoke to staff at the guild hall in Magnolia to inform them that he was taking on the request and didn't waste any more time by leaving immediately. He would have taken the pirate ship he had recently acquired from one of his jobs but was still earning jewels in order to repair it so instead he caught the next available train to Hargeon.

It was late afternoon by the time the train had stopped at Hargeon Station and the young mage was concerned that he may have been running out of time, knowing that the next shipment of slaves were to leave that night. After disembarking the carriage, Adeptus immediately made his way to the far docks as Hargeon was a port town and this was the most likely scenario as to how the slaves were being transported. Upon arrival, the masked mage took notice of large shipping containers. Heavy duty, steal heat boxes that were being prepared for transport. None were on the nearby cargo ship yet but he knew he would have to act fast to stop the situation from progressing further. Making sure to take cover behind various obstacles such as barrels, wooden crates and luggage, Adeptus made his way up to one of the shipping containers. He had only suspected that these shipping containers were involved but it wasn't until he took a closer look and noticed small breathing holes drilled into the sides that confirmed it all for him. He took a moment and closed his eyes, focusing on his hearing in hopes he could get a response. "Hello?" He said softly, putting his ears against the cold metal to listen in. He could hear movement and some soft whispers but no one responded to his voice, which was understandable considering the predicament they were in. "Listen..." He said firmly, raising his voice enough so they could hear clearly. "I am going to get you guys out of here. I am going to open the container, once the fighting starts, I need you to go and open the other containers get everyone else out." Without waiting for a response, the masked mage walked around to the other side of the container where the doors were and looked down the docks. He was now in full view of the slavers but didn't care, he wanted their attention. "Glittering Radiance!" He called, a white magic circle appearing in front of the large padlock on the door. Speckles of white and green energy fell from the magic circle and sounds exploded, not only shattering the padlock but leaving a medium sized, gaping hole in the door. "Go, now!"

Adeptus began to walk further down the docks as the slavers began running towards him. Five recruits and five snatchers were on the docks charging at him while, what he presumed was the first mate and slaver were standing on the large cargo ship, looking down at him. "He's a guild wizard, stop him!" The women who were in the cargo container had listened to Adeptus' words and began running out of the container, immediately heading for the others to break the other women out, all Adeptus had to do was maintain his position between the enemy and the escapees.

The first ones to charge the young mage were what seemed to be the fresh recruits, five men with cutlasses and little confidence. With distance still between himself and them, Adeptus raised both arms in front of him and created another white magic circle. "Star Shower!" He called out as three blasts of white and green energy fired out of the circle and homed in on the enemy, one being knocked to the ground with a hard thud, while the other two were sprung off the sides and fell into the ocean. The other two were closing in now, but it wasn't a problem for the Fairy Tail mage. The first swung downward with his cutlass, giving Adeptus the opportunity to grab the man's wrist, flicking himself around to elbow him in the stomach with his free arm. The second man closed in, taking the opportunity to swing horizontally towards him. But it was too late. "Light Grenade." Adeptus calls, still holding the first man's arm who was winded from the hit before. The young mage raised an arm towards the second man, a blast of light firing from the palm of his hand and sent the fresh recruit hurdling into the side of the cargo ship, knocking him out instantly. Flicking himself back around again, he dispatched the first again by using his left heel to smack him across the face, knocking him out as his head hit the pavement.

The masked mage turned his attention to the snatchers and to much his surprise, they were already preparing to attack. All five of them had magic circles up, ready to go and once Adeptus prepared himself, they released their attacks. Water based spells that took the young mage by surprise. "Light Screen!" Adeptus raised his arms up in front of himself again, creating another white magic circle that appeared in front of him. The circle protected him from a majority of their attacks, however it proved too much for the shield to handle, which shattered, allowing a single blade of water to cut through and slice at the masked mage's left forearm. "Ahhh." He winced, looking down to see a large slash mark on his arm that was bleeding quite heavily. Unfortunately for him, his healing spell doesn't work on himself and only on others, so he simply had to deal with the blood and pain, he must continue forward, for the women. Irritated from being wounded, frustrated at himself for allowing an attack to injure him and even more infuriated by what these women could have gone through, the young mage leaps up into the air. Raising his right arm and extending his index finger, a small marble size ball of white and green energy formed. "Big Bang!" He cried out, throwing his arm forward the released the ball of energy. Although it didn't hit any of the men and instead impacted the ground in front of them, the blast itself was what caused the major damage. The marble sized ball exploded, creating an extremely large sphere of energy which engulfed all five snatchers and the wharf they were standing on. After the blast had dissipated, there was now a large crater in the wharf, crumbling and barely holding together. The five snatchers were alive, but charred and knocked out.

Adeptus landed on the large cargo ship, his landing not so graceful and slightly loosing his footing. Partly because the deck was wet and slippery but it was possible that the wound he had received was taking its toll. He had to end this fast in order to seek medical attention, he couldn't just bleed out. Before he could gain composure, the first mate was already in front of him, blades slashing downwards. He managed to block one slash by grabbing the woman's left wrist with his right hand, but the other blade came down and cut into his left shoulder. "Ahhhh!" He called out, using his right leg and lifting it to kick the woman in the chest, sending her backwards. She began charging in again, but Adeptus had his fill and was no longer interested in playing nice anymore. "I've had enough." He stated firmly, eyes narrowing and locking onto her has she charged in. She swung downwards with her right arm again, Adeptus using his injured left to grab hold of her wrist. She swung in horizontally with her left and the young mage kicked himself up and over the arm, never letting go of her left. Once over, his feet firmly on the ground, he steps back, bracing her left arm against his back and pushing against it so it was locked in place and unable to move. She attempted to break out of the lock by bringing her left leg up to kick him in the stomach, but he was already prepared, throwing his right arm down with a fist into her shin. There was a crack and the woman screamed out in pain as a white and green aura began to form around Adeptus. "You are a woman and you kidnap ladies just like you for trade?" He asks, anger building up inside of him. "I'm nothing like those wretched bitches!" She screams, disgusted with how she was compared to them. Adeptus' eyes narrowed. "Disappointing... If you had showed sympathy or remorse I would have let you go." Adeptus' tone had become dark as he leaned into her so that their faces were only an inch apart. "Too late." With that said, the masked mage raised his free arm up to her stomach with a clenched fist, never once allowing their eyes to disengage from their lock. "Miracle Stream." A green and white beam of energy fired from his right first, sending her soaring back into her boss the slaver. She let out a blood curdling scream as the blast would have done serious damage being so close. The slaver dodged narrowly as his first mate soared past him, smashing through the wall nearby and into the ships control room.

The slaver looked at her comrade and turned to face Adeptus, but took a step back in shock as he was already standing directly in front of her. The white and green aura that had engulfed him was now met with the colours red and black. A sinister look accompanied by his mask. He reached forward with his right arm, taking hold of the scruff of her shirt and drew her in, their faces only an inch apart. "I think you need to look for a new line of work." Black and red energy that looked like electricity began to arc from Adeptus' right hand as he pushed her back, still holding onto the scruff of her shirt but with his arm full extended now. "DARK LIGHTNING!" A bolt of black and red electricity fired from his finger tips, lifting the slaver into the air and sending her hurdling past past all the escapees. She let out a scream of pain as she landed on the ground just at the entrance of the docks, at the feet of several Rune Knights who had just appeared on scene.

After receiving medical attention from a member of the Rune Knights, several of the escapees came to Adeptus and thanked him. He was then questioned by the Knight in Charge and detailed to them what had happened. They thanked Adeptus and ensured that the slavers would be held in prison for a very long time. No slavers were injured during the make of this scene.
