When he had first been forcefully summoned to this world and ripped out of his own, the man was convinced that he would never get a chance to celebrate any of the holidays from his home. Of course, as the months passed by and he found himself being stuck in this accursed land for over a year, there were some small things that made this fact bearable. The main thing that helped with this fact was that this world seemed to share a lot of the same holidays as his own. Despite his outward demeanor, Sojiro was a sucker for the holidays, especially things like Halloween and Christmas. When the male had heard the fact that the town of Magnolia was going to be throwing a festival to celebrate the season, there was no way in hell that he was going to miss it! And he sure as hell didn't, even though he had shown up late and nearly missed the whole event.

Sojiro had come to the event dressed in a pair of loose-fitting pants and a black hoodie overtop of his upper body; the man's face had been painted shades of green with black lines across his forward, giving him the appearance of Frankenstein's Monster! Did they even have such a classic tale in this realm? He'd had to check it out at the library, it would be interesting if they ended up having their own version compared to the normal doctor building a body. Of course, Sojiro would push these thoughts to the back of his mind fairly quickly as he let his eyes scan the many attractions that seemed to be up... Or, at least, whichever had been open still.

The man's amethyst eyes had fallen onto a woman that was dressed like a classic witch, with a pointy hat on her head, a long black dress, and her skin was also colored a dark green color. The two of them had met eyes, causing the lady to raise a hand in greeting and making Sojiro feel obligated to start there, "So, what had we got here?" The man asked as he came over, where the woman explained that it was free punch! "Yeah, but what's the tradeoff? Nothing is really free." The woman gave an evil laugh that was obviously practiced before snickering, saying that something weird and spooky might happen if he drank. Sojiro had no interest in being drugged but some stranger but the voice of Takumi spoke strongly in his head, encouraging him to try something new. So the man let out a long break from between his lips before offering out his hand and finding a cup placed inside of it, which was quickly filled to the brim with a red liquid. With an annoyed sigh, mostly at himself, Sojiro wasted no time putting the glass to his lips and easily finishing what was inside.

Once he was done, the entirety of Sojiro's vision turned blue as though he was hit with a color-tinted flashbang! This had caused him to stumble and nearly fall over, feeling the witch grab him by both his arms and easily help him find his balance. When his vision finally returned to him, his gaze went to find the witch so that he could chastise her but instead he was met with an apparition that wasn't there before. Just over the woman's shoulder was a ghostly figure that Sojiro could see through, causing him to blink a few times before asking, "Um, what the hell is that?" The man wasted no time pointing toward the ghost, where the witch looked over her shoulder and shrugged gently. She said that he probably had gotten the ability to see ghosts around him and before he could ask any more questions, more people had come up to the line behind him and he was ushered away.

Sojiro would have never assumed that drinking some punch would have changed the pacing of his night but there he was, taking a moment to sit on a bench and watching a plethora of spirits that moved along the grounds. The dead outnumbered the living by nearly three times over but the more he looked around, it was obvious that there wasn't going to be too much of a problem for anyone around. The spirits that were around seemed to be dancing, shaking their bodies, chasing each other around, and overall enjoying themselves to great lengths. It added another level of pleasantness to everything that was going on, though there was no denying that one ghost had been hanging out near him and watching him closely. The ghost seemed to be that of a small dog who was lost, so Sojiro offered his hand out to it and it came over. Sojiro had experience with ghosts thanks to living with Zincarla, her weird magical powers giving her the ability to summons spirits. The dog seemed excited that someone could see him but looked sad as he went to lean his body against Sojiro's hand, expecting to pass through. But Sojiro summoned magic to his hand, to give it just the right amount of firmness so that the dog leaned against him and then exploded with happiness. The little puppy made yelping noises of joy before moving to jump straight into Sojiro's lap, which it was able to do because the magic needed for such a thing was minuscule compared to what Sojiro usually did.

Sojiro spent the next several minutes letting the dog enjoy itself, scratching behind one of its ears while rubbing the small stomach with his other. To normal people who passed by, Sojiro looked as though he had lost his mind but there were a few people who had drunk the punch that gave him a knowing look with a large, approving smile. Once the puppy began to settle down again, Sojiro would cup his whole right forearm underneath the creature before standing to his feet and moving to look for another event that was around. That had been when his eyes found a ride that was advertised as 'The Tunnel of Terror!!' and there was no way he could ignore something like that. Although it may not seem like it, Sojiro absolutely loved horror movies and everything else that came with the genre. The idea of seeing what kind of things could be in this one actually got him a little excited, causing him to shift from where he was toward the entrance. There were only a few couples in front of him but he didn't wait any longer than fifteen minutes before it was finally his turn to slide into the small boat, trying to ignore the fact that everyone in front of and behind him had some type of company to go on the ride. Well, he did have some company! The dog would have moved to lay happily on his lap once he was fully situated.

The boat began to move through the water, the scares that plagued the first area seemed fairly simple; things popped out of nowhere, and actors along the water tried to scare him but nothing seemed to work. It wasn't that they were bad at their jobs but Sojiro had never been someone that showed his emotions on the exterior, even in situations that were high stakes. Up ahead the man had caught sight of what seemed to be a purple barrier that was cast in front of his path and that caused him to turn his head curiously. Once he was on the other side of it, the general mood of the ride seemed to change and the puppy did its best to bury its head into Sojiro's stomach, "Don't worry, little guy. I've got you." He comforted the beast with soft words while placing both his hands over it, the small shakes it had had slowly subsided. At first there was nothing but darkness in the area but then dark images began to swirl around Sojiro. The first thing that he had seen was himself walking down the street, back in his home world, before his phone rang. This caused the real Sojiro to raise his brow in question, were they trying to use some type of illusion magic to mess with him and make this tunnel more effective? That was cheating!

But as the fake Sojiro picked up the phone and began to speak, Sojiro knew what was coming next. It wouldn't be long before the image of himself would walk to the nearest library, tired and overworked, to open up a book that he assumed was for an assignment. But his own weariness had caused him to grab the wrong book, which would lead to the very moment Sojiro was in right now. If he had read the book the proper way, would he be where he was? Was this tunnel trying to make him feel dread on such a deep level that he would start to cry? If so, it would have to do so much better than this. Sojiro had come to grips with the fact that he was stuck in this world but more importantly, he was glad on some subconscious level that he got sent here. The Hero Spirit that dragged him to this realm had not been the same thing that brought Takumi into this world, which meant... That if Sojiro had never been brought here, there was a good chance that Takumi would have been stuck in this place alone. And for that one fact alone, he was glad that he had been forced to come here.

So for the rest of the ride, instead of being scared by the images, he decided to take some time for some self-reflection. Watching as he fell from the sky and into some battle with a woman who could summon characters out of a book she owned, he remembered the way she apologized to him as if she had done it. And for while he was sure that she had, cause what other reason had he been presented with? Of course, Archeron had made himself known on some level since then and it was clear he was the mastermind behind bringing Sojiro here. It was a damn shame he barely spoke, cause Sojiro had a few choice words for him. But soon the boat was beginning to slow down and he could see the opening at the other end. The night sky was soon above him and the attendant couldn't help but look surprised when Sojiro came out the other end undisturbed by whatever he had seen inside. With a bit of help from the worker, the man would soon be on solid ground once more with the dog resting on his arm and against his chest.

Things were starting to close down all around him, thanks to him having been late to the event, and that caused him to let out a disappointed breath, "Seems like it's time for us to head out." The man's steps would adjust to start taking him towards the exit but that was when his attention was caught by a simple stand. The man had three small coffins on a table, swirling them around before the customer pointed at one to reveal what was beneath. It wasn't the most exciting thing but what was wrong with a little bit of fun? He was greeted by the man at the stand with a wide grin before the piece of candy was slid underneath one of the three coffins. Just as the coffins began to get moved around, the puppy would gently nip at Sojiro's had and cause him to look away from the table. When he looked back up, the man behind the stand was wearing a large grin that showed he noticed when Sojiro had looked away. The man would grunt softly and point towards the one in the middle, which would be lifted to reveal absolutely nothing beneath them.

Having been defeated but also having made a new friend, Sojiro was ready to retire for the night.
