Description:
Before Seven had become the nation it is now, it used to be a place of misty and mystic tales even magical by Fiore standards. One tale sticks out as unlike the other tales of gods, as it was about one man; Cu Chulainn. The collection of myths and fables goes over how Cu Chulainn was doomed to short life, but in turn would be remembered for ages to come. And so it would be that Cu Chulainn would train with the gods themselves and fight many battles, often utilizing a deadly transformation that would swiftly end his foes and terrify those who had not yet fought him. And only in his final conflict after fighting an army single handedly for months and being weakened by a devastating blow would he finally fall dead.
While some would argue the man is just myths and fables, many Sevenites who know the tale hold fast that he was indeed real. After all, despite his marriage, he had many affairs that bore many children. And it's not hard to assume his descendants have survived to modern age, unknowingly carrying the blood of the man within them. In fact, one of these descendants every generation tend to manifest the Cu's most prominent features, inheriting much of his power. Whether they also inherit his fate as well remains to be seen.
Abilities:
Wild Warrior of the North
The young Cu Chulainn, despite his early demise, had achieved a strength and skill many would take a lifetime to learn and possess. This talent would manifest in the heir, granting them a unique style of both magical and physical prowess, granting them access to a new magic type referred to as "Barbarian". This form of power allows the user to make new magics that are able to utilize both the body and soul of the user, often wielding a piece of equipment as a key part of this expression. As such, the user is able to utilize techniques and caster type spells in any magics that utilize the Barbarian type, otherwise following all appropriate rules for both Holder equipment and Combat Arts. The benefit levels for the Barbarian type are listed below:
- Solitary: Associated Holder Weapon/Armor/Item receives 3 additional equipment abilities that are equal to the character's rank (Up to H). Allows the user to replace their spells and abilities with techniques in the associated magic.
- Primary: Associated Holder Weapon/Armor/Item receives 2 additional equipment abilities that are equal to the character's rank (Up to H). Allows the user to replace their spells and abilities with techniques in the associated magic.
- Auxiliary: Associated Holder Weapon/Armor/Item receives 1 additional equipment ability that is equal to the character's rank (Up to H). Allows the user to replace their spells and abilities with techniques in the associated magic.
Savage Bloodline
The descendants of the Cu, even at a young age, are noticeably different from their peers. They tend to have far more raw power within them and can exert it for far longer than others around them. Not even mentioning their constitution, which tends to be leaps and bounds above that of others others. This translates to a 100% base increase to their HP and a 50% base increase to their Movement Speed. Further, the user may chose from one of the following increases below:
- 1) 100% base increase to Strength and SP
- 2) 100% base increase to Spell Damage and MP
Increase Chosen: 2
Thrill Chaser
Cu Cuhullain's own ambition and drive for fame was foretold to bring him to a very early demise, but he always faced such a fate head on, as if ensuring his end would truly be worth the glory told in stories after his passing. This drive and ambition can also be felt in his descendants, and whether they realize it or not, they have a tendency to get more out of life then others. The user gains a 100% increase to the jewel reward they receive from jobs.
Prodigy of War
The descendants of the Cu usually find themselves far more acclimated to the battlefield than others. For one who inherits this lineage this is absolutely true, and it, in fact, feels as if the descendant entered their first battle as if they had fought many beforehand. This also manifests in not only their ability to adapt to combat quickly, but also being able to make far more use of their talents compared to others. The user gains access to an additional Signature Spell slot in every magic including the "Barbarian" magic type they possess (Ranking up with them to S). Further, the user also gains two additional Advanced Spell slots in every magic including the "Barbarian" magic type they possess (1 ranking with the user up to S+ and the other ranking up to H+).
Riastrad
Translating to "Warp Spasm", the Riastrad was Cu Chulainn's most notable feature. With his body turning inside out, exposing muscle and sinew, and growing to a grotesque size and stature, he would go berserk on the battlefield as he tore through soldiers and creatures alike with ease. This is also perhaps the clearest sign that one is a descendant of the Cu, as they also are able to enter their own state of Riastrad. The user can control when they enter and leave this state, and while it may not be the same look as their ancestor there has to be a discernable physical change when they transform. This ability can be used once per thread. While under Riastrad, they gain the the following benefits as listed below:
- The user's normal Melee attacks deal user rank Multi Target Spell Damage (Up to H+) instead of Melee Damage, and are therefore affected by changes in Spell Damage. This applies only to the user's base Melee Damage and does not take into account any modifiers to base Melee Damage (such as weapons, requips, take-overs, etc.) as well as base increases or regular increases to Strength. This value increases appropriately with increases to Spell Damage.
- The user gains a 50% increase to their Damage Reduction while this ability is active.
- The user gains a 50% increase to their base Spell Damage while this ability is active.
There is a drawback to the Riastrad, however. Once they have entered this state, their anger and focus on the battle will cloud their ability to concentrate. The user is unable to cast any new spell or activate any new technique or ability during this ability's duration (though they will still benefit from passive benefits from spells, abilities, etc. activated before activation of Riastrad). The user must sacrifice 10% of their maximum MP every post this ability is active. If the user reaches 0 MP while this ability is active, this ability is immediately deactivated and its effects canceled. If the user has less than 50% of their maximum MP remaining, this ability cannot be activated.
