✩ Resting in the shade of one of the buildings that lined the Ace of Spades' streets, the matron of dragons would sigh as she pondered the many choices that were sprawled out in front of her, cigarette in between her lips. The job board had various adventures to embark on, epic and subtle, short and long- Estelle wanted something in the middle of all of that. Though she had not embarked on a light-filled journey in quite some time, she felt she was finally ready to take one of her dragons out into the world. Sitting upon her cheek would be the sigil of Sabertooth, the guild she had joined a few weeks prior to this bright day, donning the same dark colors of the silk dress draped across her body and fluttering within the wind. Joining this guild was her way of atoning for her sins; though, even still, she had not truly forgiven herself for joining the ranks of Plumed Serpent back in the springtime. Making her sons wear the white cloaks to conceal their identities, along with her own, was something she could never forget; it was an overbearing feeling of desperation for power, which though short-lived, was proven to all be a lie.
"Hm, what to pick," she would mutter to herself as she would raise her free hand to read some of the jobs more in-depth, wagering the payments and tasks she would perform, "something that will let you practice your breath of fire, as you need it desperately."
Looking back at her colossal elder dragon that rested in the street, which was about the size of three elephants and still juvenile, she would roll her eyes as a few of his dragonglass ornamentals would clank against stone architecture within his movements. Zarkudis was the largest of his other two draconic siblings, and though they were only about eight months old, they seemed to be growing at a wild rate, unlike any other dragons Estelle got to lay her eyes upon. Unlike her usual practice of raising her draconic children, she had decided to take them out one by one rather than as a trio, as she felt it would be best for their independence- the dragon's brothers rested at the edge of the forest miles away, alongside her two mortal sons and her sister, Lyra. It was a blessing to Estelle that the fairy of Silver Wolf was so willing to take on the role of a babysitter while brewing herbal remedies, or so she called them.
As she was beginning to feel as if she was unable to make a decision of which job to pick on her own, she began to look through the streets in order to find one of her guildmates, though she did not recognize a soul due to being such a new member. It was annoying; in the guild she had been in many years prior she experienced countless requests for her assistance she didn't have to seek out work at all, but now this? It was quite a different experience and not an easy one.
"By the gods, how hard is it to find job partners these days?" the orange-haired's eyes would flutter as she would inhale the contents of her cigarette, allowing it to continue to rest in between her lips. It was not like her to wish for assistance in taking on jobs, especially those that were of a lower rank, but truthfully it had been some time since she had put a dragon's mythical abilities to use. She was freshly out of her temporary retirement in the world of magecraft and did not want to mess anything up- if anything, a job partner would be able to keep her in check from getting too into the fray. Now if only one would appear within the blink of an eye, then, in her eyes, that would be something.
