Time Dragon's Virtue Lacrima
Description:
"A curious thing, indeed, these Lacrima ... are they not? They themselves are objects of quite paradoxical nature. A Lacrima, of course, is, in essence, a crystallized form of magic. The physical form of magical power. That much knows every child, naturally. That's the catch, though. The people of Earthland are so accustomed to these things that they will barely ask themselves the important questions. It is widely accepted that magic stems from our very nature, and is different from person to person. Some even go as far as calling it the manifestation of the soul. It could very well be the case, but no testing has been done to prove such a wild claim, so I will disregard the validity of such statements in the context of this note. Let us, however, assume that this thought is true. The physical manifestation of magic, which in and of itself is the very essence of a being, would imply that each and every single Lacrima that exists contains a spark, a portion of a soul, or even a soul in its entirety. Some of them, at least. Theoretically speaking, of course. Does that mean, though, that a Lacrima, like a soul, is capable of sentience? Emotion? Thoughts, wishes, dreams, hope, good, or evil? It's quite the assumption, but it could, no, it would explain where these things get their energy from.
Ah, yes, this nothing but my ramblings, theories, if anything, though ... this is why I am writing this journal. My research has been, not to praise myself too much, rather fruitful, and I have finally managed to fix the persistent overheating-problem in the mechanism. With that little flaw of spontaneous auto-combustion out of the way, there is nothing stopping the finalization of the device. All that is left to do is the integration of a Lacrima. If functional, it will be able to effortlessly extract a Lacrima's magical power in its entirety without any loss of energy or without the need for a magus as a medium.
Think about it. The potential to store and release boundless amounts of energy, the potential to construct truly monumental machines, running for eternity, powered by nothing but a tiny splinter of a crystal. I could go on and on, but the potential, as you can imagine, is almost endless. This could revolutionize both energy and society as we know it. It seems like this part of my research has already been widely recognized ... for better or for worse. Bellum has made me an offer to work for them. They want me to, forgive my expression, bastardize this system, my system, and construct the prototype for a new weapon. Fools. Of course, the device needs to be paired with a sufficiently powerful Lacrima, and the possible applications are, indeed, broad, but I am determined to use this research for the good of humanity. Only the narrowest of minds would think to pervert this potential for no other purpose than warfare! With this, we could-"
The note seems to end there abruptly, a few splashes of what almost appears like dry red staining the page.
Abilities:
Name: Lacrima Aura
Rank: User Rank Advanced (Up to H+)
Category: Auxiliary
Type: Passive
Description: As the sword is combined with a Slayer Lacrima, it possesses the special ability to manifest the inherent Slayer Magic of the crystallized magic used within in an aura around the blade to enhance its destructive capabilities. This ability can be toggled on and off at the user's desire. Once activated, it will coat the sword in one or more of the elements associated with the Slayer Lacrima, every strike made with the weapon, in addition to its melee damage, dealing User Rank Advanced Multi Target Damage. Both the weapon's melee damage and the MT damage are added together, being treated as the same ability, benefitting from increases to Spell Damage. The range, however, is limited to melee range, and every strike is delivered at the user's own movement speed. Further, this MT damage can pierce any shield, even those with anti-piercing qualities, sacrificing only 25% of its base damage when used to pierce a shield, barrier, or wall. Lastly, the user of the sword receives a passive 100% base increase to their Spell Damage and a 100% passive base increase to their Spell Range and Spell Speed respectively.
Name: Lacrima Force
Category: Auxiliary
Type: Passive
Description: The control over the Slayer Lacrima embedded in a weapon, in limits, gives this weapon and the user Slayer-like qualities. Like a Slayer, this blade can absorb spells and abilities of the same element or elements as those a Slayer using the Lacrima could absorb. Much like a Slayer, the wielder of the blade will regain MP when a spell or ability is absorbed, following the rules for Slayer consumption of the associated elements and Slayer type or types. The blade, however, cannot absorb naturally occurring elements as Slayers can, and neither the user nor the sword benefits from a Slayer's damage reductions. Further, the user also has access to a unique Force mechanic called Lacrima Force while wielding this blade. Lacrima Force, in essence, functions like Third Gen Slayer Force for the associated Lacrima, enabling the user to enter force at will while wielding the Lacrima Sword as well as enjoy the following benefits:
- Increases the user's Strength, Speed, and Spell Damage by 100% while Lacrima Force is active.
- While Lacrima Force is active, both the sword and the user are surrounded by an aura of the Lacrima's associated element/s, increasing either their base spell damage or their base melee damage by 100%. This increase is separate from other base increases and can apply independently of the cap imposed on base increases.
- While Lacrima Force is active spells cost no MP to cast.
- To Maintain Lacrima Force the user must spend 10% of their maximum total MP per post. MP cannot be regained or regenerated while Lacrima Force is active. Once the user of Lacrima Force hits 0 MP or once they choose to cancel it, Lacrima Force ends. If one hits 0 MP through the use of Force they suffer from the consequences of running out of MP as normal.
