Ace of Super Cute Idolness!

It was a busy day at the Red Dragon Inn thanks to a summer festival. Dressed in her usual outfit of green Steel Matron t-shirt and black skirt with white tennis shoes, Victoria was in her element behind the bar at the Red Dragon Inn. She was keeping up with the rush of drink orders and the drink orders were as varied as the customers who had ordered them. She had already received orders for four Long Island Iced Teas, one Silver Bullet with vermouth, one Silver Bullet with vodka, three Bloody Marys, two Dirty Ashtrays, four Pina Coladas, four Tequila Sunrises, and seven Screwdrivers. Thankfully the brunette had quite a bit of bartending experience and was able to keep up with who ordered what in addition to using the right amount of ingredients to make the drinks just right.

She had just finished preparing and sending off the last of the Screwdrivers when a pink-haired youth with heterochromia walked up to the bar and made some inquiries concerning the possibility of loud noises other than the youth's concert so that she could make special preparations. Victoria did not know that there was going to be a concert later today, but she had been so busy slinging drinks that she had not had time to keep up with what was happening outside the walls of the inn. She was the wrong person to ask because she was not privy to all the details, but she would try and help the pink-haired person anyway.

"I don't know whether someone in the town will shoot off their own fireworks at some point or not, but I'd prepare just in case." Victoria suggested to the young woman.

"I mostly sling drinks here, so I'm not privy to all the goings on around town. I'd seek someone who knew more about the city's plans for the festival." Victoria added another suggestion. Again that was not the most helpful answer, but the brunette was being completely honest. The particular nature of the question made the Sabertooth mage curious about who she was talking to.

"I can't say that I've seen you before or heard your music. Who are you?" Victoria asked the pink-haired young woman her name.

"I don't mind working today. I like bartending." Victoria told the cheerful pink-haired young woman the truth. While bartending had its ups and downs just like any other job, on the whole Victoria liked it and found it fulfilling. She got to use her years of experience in making drinks to make a decent bit of money to supplement what she earned from working as a mage. She also got to talk to people from different walks of life in a place where social standing did not matter very much... most of the time, anyway.

Victoria watched the person show off their lavender dress with a graceful spin and was about to answer the question of where she had gotten her skirt from when some weird thing made an entrance by flying in through a window that had been left open. Victoria was not sure what was going on here, so she kept quiet and watched until the young woman started to talk again. The brunette was introduced to "Yemaya", a creature she had never seen before today and a creature that also handled important business for the young woman.

The closest thing Victoria had to a companion was Larry and she doubted that many people would want to make the acquaintance of a knee-high war machine armed with an anti-vehicle beam cannon.

Victoria learned that "Yemaya" communicated using something that sounded a lot like telepathy. The brunette was offered a choice on how to communicate with the creature and she took a few moments to consider the options. After giving it some thought she opted to try the second approach for both the new experience and for the sake of convenience.

"I'll try opening my mind to Yemaya and seeing how that goes." Victoria told the pink-haired young woman before trying to open her mind... however one went about doing that. Maybe it meant "open her mind" to the possibility of that kind of communication instead of doing some kind of yoga exercise to get the ball rolling. The brunette had no idea what she was getting herself in to, but she was going to try to set herself for this speechless communication the pink-haired young woman was touting.

Victoria did her best to open her mind and despite not really knowing how to it worked. She could hear the animal perfectly and was not suffering from headaches, nosebleeds, or any other effects. Victoria listened to the animal explain the situation and field a question from the pink-haired young woman about snacks, which were indeed provided for the latter... and for Victoria too, a fact which visibly pleased the brunette. The need to prepare non-alcoholic drinks was brought up and although the brunette was better-equipped to prepare and serve alcoholic beverages she could serve normal ones too.

"I can help you with the non-alcoholic drinks. Punch shouldn't be all that hard to make." Victoria assured Yemaya that she was willing to help with some of the logistics of providing concert-goers with drinks. The brunette was pretty sure that the punch came with instructions, so all she would need was the tools and supplies to make it such as a punch bowl, water, and so on and so forth. Victoria should be able to procure what she needed without too much effort... she could always go to the local supermarket to pick up anything she needed if the Red Dragon Inn did not have it or would not allow her to use it.

The pink-haired young woman started asking about the shape of the building and whether any special care needed to be taken with the placement of the concert equipment. Victoria was not informed of any special problems with the building, but she did not want to cut the building's owner out of the decision-making process. Therefore she would direct the young woman to them because the owner would be able to give an informed decision.

"I hate to be unable to give you a solid answer, but I just work here, lady. You'll have to ask your questions to the building's owner." Victoria told the pink-haired young woman who to direct her inquiries to. The brunette had sounded like she did not know anything for the second time in the conversation, but she was being honest with her guest. Victoria's duties involved slinging drinks and helping clean the bar... she knew nothing about the building's structural integrity or anything complicated like that. Since she did not know the answer herself the best thing to do was to point the pink-haired young woman to someone who did know the answer.

The other young woman continued to talk on and on with no end in sight, prompting Yemaya to give the brunette some advice to cope with the incessant talking.

"Don't worry. I'm way ahead of you." Victoria spoke to Yemaya with her ability to directly communicate without speaking a single word aloud. The brunette had had practice in tuning others out... she tuned out her old enemy Francesca Corlone whenever the two met. She also tuned out her mentor and mother figure Florence Manderley whenever the latter suggested that the brunette give up alcohol entirely.
